- This 1954 David Bradley chainsaw was restored by completely tearing it down, replacing all gaskets, bad bearings, piston rings, and rebuilding the carburetor. This has the tecumseh Power Products AH47 engine.
Let me know below how you liked this vintage tool restoration!
Thanks! I'm building one of these for a game and this has helped a ton for reference pictures!
same :D im making an animation and there is no way to get any good blueprints for some vintage chainsaw.
Nice job bringing it back to life! Made at a time when there was less plastic in our lives! You had to be an animal to carry it around. Lol
UA-cam needs more awesome videos like this one!!!!!!!!!
Thanks
@@slanginfba3117 can you please show how to install a fuel line in the tank area on that saw please
5:20 I think that's the first time I've ever heard a chipmunk say the F word...
Nice job! Man I would love to have that old saw.
I have a David Bradley 360 model 917.60001 and I am in need of a coil, points and condensor. The coil is cooked and the insulation around the windings is cracked and coming apart. I looked on Ebay, but no luck. It has the Bendix magneto assembly. You did a great job restoring yours. Great video.
I had one just like it. Never ran very fast but it never bogged down either. It cut a lighter knot that absolutely destroyed my homelite saw. Lol. It cut it like butter
Very good restoration bro 🔥🔥🔥🔥👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks!
Nice 👍👍 , finished work 👍👌
boy doe,s this bring back memories my dad bought one like this in 1962 when he bought his first farm that baby was heavy it was model5g21 still sold by sears it was a work horse even with36inch bar later at a farm i found one just like it in near mint condition for 15 dollar,s it followed me home still have both of them priceless to me later my dad had a sawmill he would use old bradly to finish splitting log that was to big in diameter
I couldn't imagine using this for more than a few cuts at a time. It's HEAVY. A really neat looking chainsaw though.
Well done great seeing how it’s done ✅
Nice rebuild & restoration, hope to see more.
Thanks! More to come...
Neat trick compressing the rings!
Great job, nice clean work area.
I think Im gonna restore machines too
I already have a hammer
this thing looks terrifying and nice watch btw :)
👍 thanks
That saw was made in 1954? It belongs in a chainsaw museum. Looks like the old gear drive type. By the way, great job on the restoration.
With the position of the muffler, you will look like a doubledecker pilot after some work...
8-)
Nice work!
:-)
Nice job
👍
Hay you are doing a fucking good job 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
there are spaceships with less parts than this carb you could make trilogy of its own very nice job!
Actualy all things considered that is a relatively simple carb for a chainsaw
Who else is here from TCSM game?
Seen that metal break out from wrong use of a beating stick. Said no problem, some aluminum welding will fix that. As soon as the steel bondo stick came out, I was gone.
Rain Coast this most likely has a magnesium case. Ever tried to weld magnesium? It puts on one hell of a fireworks show.
You are correct it is made of magnesium
I tried once. Do not try this, especially at home!
@@БайВладунчо Welding magnesium?! Oh HELL no! BAD IDEA! That is just BEGGING for a fireworks show. Magnesium being a flammable metal was one of the first things that we actually learned in my welding class....😑
@@mr.chaosvicious5968 This is what exactly happened - a local fireworks show 🎇
I'm going to use that excuse every chance I get "I'm not a professional... I... am just fu©king around" 11:35 and I thought you might have put it back together with the hammer 😝 just kidding, nice job matey 😉
before doing any more projects like this, you should at least watch some videos on "how not to beat every shaft and case off and using a screwdriver to separate the tanks?" those parts are almost non existent anymore. but even getting them, isn't going to cure the broken stuff. unless it's going go be wall mount display, it would've been pretty cool as it was. oh and permatex blue rtv or whatever it is, isn't going to work long in anything with gasoline, no matter what it says on the tube.
Nice job on the saw! Can you tell me where you got the carb rebuild kit for this? I am also rebuilding the same saw...
You will probably just have to look around for a rebuild kit. That MIGHT take some doing though unfortunately....😑
The carbs on these are the old tillisons whitch are the same to a sthil ts350 super so if you search up sthil ts350 super carb ruble kit it should com up with no problems
Nice
Spray rubbing alcohol on that epoxy stick and you can smooth it down real nice for no sanding
Good to know. Thanks
@@slanginfba3117 nice work you do... ...
Всё хорошо...но в работе её надо видеть)
damn. you scratched the fuck out of your fresh paint putting parts back together
Just got mine back together. I put the carb throttle arm on and the other long thin steel rod that goes inside the pull start assembly but when I hit the trigger it does not accelerate. I have to have that thin rod on wrong or something. Any hints?
Could you please be so kind and show how the parts get cleaned?
I would hate to have to have that chain sprocket made but could always have it made from a different stronger metal
Hey I don't know if you will reply but I just got one mine has a Tillotson hl11a carb can't find a kit for the specific model did you use a universal kit or find one for the specific model
Liked the video. have an old one myself if want to restore. Just wanted to ask where did you get the gaskets from. I have been looking all over. thanks
At 9:24, still hoping. at 9:34 I cried... On to the next.
Nice job, $60 for rings? Those bastards...
Why didnt you check ring gap
I have acquired one of these saws as well, how did you find out what color to paint it? Or did you just go with what ever color you wanted? Just wondering what I should do with mine
I have a David Bradley chainsaw just like the one that you just got done restoring I'm looking for some parts for it like the pull start cuz mine came apart when I was using it a few years ago and I've been trying to find parts for it but I can't find any parts any where
Where did you find the parts?
Sound very muted, but the ads are blasting.......I deleted it.
So out of interest is there any value to a saw like this? Im amazed by the restoration quality but just wondered if there is any value to it. Also, is there anything to stop a professional using a saw like this today? I'm not a professional by any means but curiosity makes me wonder if there would be any issues other than weight
Parts availability for sure. If they were easier and pretty cheap to get. Then I would say no,there really should be no other issues using it besides maybe its weight.
What is the color of paint called ?
Nicer than when it left the factory! That welch plug or whatever you drilled and removed from the carb. What was it? And it didn't look like you replaced it.
I have 3 or 4 of these saws. The cool thing about them is that you can move the sprocket, bar and chain to the outside. And have a little fun with it too. ua-cam.com/video/EoBw6dDKj0A/v-deo.html
Those are gems! I'm subscribed.
You're right, the Welch plug install must have been removed during the editing. It was definitely installed.
less talk more work nice
Awesome vid, where did you get the carb rebuild kit from? I have the same saw and im going to start it soon.
You don't have to take out all to get the Piston out of that cylinder.
คุณไม่ได้ทดสอบ เลื่อยยนต์??
น้ำมันแพง
Chainsaw not starting
Can we see it cut
Bro you didn't even put grease in that thing wtf
Grease what exactly?
The drive gear??
The drive gear
Got lucky, wasn't that terrible in condition to start off, great craftsmanship though
wher did you find parts nicework and restoreation
The carb kit is still available, and the piston rings are made by hastings mfg. The bearing were standard size so they weren't hard to find...but any other piece Ebay is your best bet.
6 mins in and praying he doesn't repaint it. Just refurbish a grea ld log sawer. Fingers crossed, not loking below.
those saws were not to be ran with 2 cycle oil the gas mix was 1 pint of sae 30 engine oil to 1 gallon of leaded gas so you would need lead substance to properly run them (not trying to be a asshole but js letting you know)
And BTW, how is 6:50 here the same as 1:32 here? Who's the culprit? ua-cam.com/video/6Wr_JysQuic/v-deo.html
whoever made this machine should be ashamed. It's like they just put parts in a blender and sold whatever came out
You should have sent that over to my shop , I would have had my dog do a better paint job on it , than you did .
Too much work , and too much time amateur move.
Unnecessary work
