All those Renovation games got re-releases through retro-bit about a year ago. The Evercade also got a Renovation cart as well, which may have helped put sell pressure on those games
Unless you grew up with the Genesis and have a strong attachment to the original hardware or less popular titles, the Sega Genesis Mini consoles or Sega Mega Drive/Genesis Collections for PS3/Xbox 360 or PS4/Xbox One are the best value for money. I collected for the Genesis from 2008-2009 when most of these titles were $10-20 often in box. They're fun games, but not that fun to warrant $100s per title, IMO.
Sometimes Ill buy a minty copy of a game and case but it has no manual, so ill buy the manual separately on ebay and it ends up being alot cheaper than buying CIB usually anyway
I have pristine/mint cib copies of Splatterhouse 1&2......I bought back in 2002 and never played them....I just took the plastic wrap off of them because they were factory sealed.....I wish I wouldn't have done that now....haha. But I'm still glad to have them as beautiful collectors pieces.
Nice stack of games you showed here! I was playing a guessing game as each game was being revealed which ones would you show next and I pretty much guessed them all (not in order). I was wondering when Gaiares would show up among the games you highlighted and you didn't disappoint. I think this game is probably a close second to Lightening Force for title of best shmup on the Genesis, but I digress. Just to add my two cents to the discussion, I'd like to leave a couple of honorable mentions not featured in this video for other games that are highly sought/collectible for the Genesis and that perhaps are also going down in price relative to what they were a couple of years back. I am referring to at least picking up copies with case and cart but if you can CIB, well here goes. SplatterHouse 2 and 3 Alisia Dragoon Valis and Valis III Arrow Flash Phantasy Star II with the original players guide. Phantasy Star IV The 3 Shinobi titles, rev1 for Revenge of Shinobi that has Spiderman. Exile Gauntlet IV Saint Sword Cadash Blades of Vengeance Golden Axe II Anyways, thanks for the video and congrats on the growth of your channel. looking forward to the next one!
Castlevania: Bloodlines is one of those games I never expected to get, I personally have a general rule of not paying over $70 for retro games, but I stumbled upon a listing for a loose copy for $40 and bought it. Still can't believe I got it, even though the seller has a good rating I'm half expecting it to show up broken or something...
I’ve been finding the rare, uncommon types of genesis games in stores more often now only problem now is finding them complete and in good condition which will cost more but I think games that are in the Elemental Master territory are convention finds when looking for one Fun fact: Japan versions of Ristar, streets of rage 3 are in plastic boxes instead of cardboard got lucky from looking at new eBay listing
Seems like any time of the week is the time to buy games for this, for that or for that one over there. It's monday, get your 360 games! Tuesday get your wii games!!! And so on 😆
I have the same 5 games last several years. I’m sick of the pricing across the board. No game should be $50 plus. I don’t care what title it is. It’s just computer chips sheesh

found castlevania at a pawn shop mint condition for like 15 a couple months ago, I took that as a sign to start collecting for the genesis
Tell that to Crusader of Centy
Whats up to all us peeps who get up early, or don't sleep ;)
Genesis collecting didn’t really get popular until the 2010’s. I remember in 2009 still finding uncommon Genesis games CIB for under 20 dollars.
You have some great games there. Here in Ireland it was called SEGA Mega Drive it was the first console I owned.
im so glad i have my stuff as a kid and never sold it

In the USA, sega outsold the snes for several Christmas seasons. So, yes people played as much sega as snes.
