In with a swollen belly, an uplifted bridge and a very high action...
In part 2, we get the guitar clamped up and we get ready to get some moisture back into the top (to reduce the swelling). There are some other hurdles we need to overcome and I explain how we will fix those too...
I’ll give this a try, as others have said that just moisture in the sound hole,
Close up the case for a week and put a little on the top when the case is closed.
I used a small wt and some towels. After a week, it did not move at all. Belly
Was still rocking from side to side behind the bridge by 1/8”. I’ll try this and
Give my report, thought, I think moisture plus heat on top of the belly is the way
To go.
I also do the moisture in the body/soundhole seal fix. Done it a nuimber of times and it works great...
Best luthier on youtube ive ever seen
I don't know about that but thank you :)
i have a 1974 fg335,it has belly bow but i havent the clamps,so im using weights to level it.ill see how it goes, cant be any worse than it is now.have 1/4 inch action at last fret.(subscribed)
Im not sure if it was a luthier but i saw some one on youtube use a small balloon to seal the sound hole, it can be used over and over as long as it does not pop or lose air .I have a inexpensive ovation applause with severe belly buldge ,i noticed the back of the bridge is also raised i can slip a peice of paper in the space behind the bridge, it is unplayable as it is right now.Im gonna try your method with the clamps but the guitar has a wood top with some type of resin bowl shaped back ,not flat like a standard acoustic guitar .
