I've got a 2012 Sportage and the rear bracket, that the caliper mounts to, is different. It has a recessed bolt, in a control arm or something, that you can't get a regular socket on it. Trying an angled 14mm boxed in wrench to get to it. Maybe that will work. These you are removing are different, unless the drivers side is different than the passengers side.

I have exactly the same problem, did you get past this and finish the job yourself? I was too afraid of stripping the bolt head from not getting enough of a hold on it.

Gents, you saved me money I could not afford. Thank you so much for a brilliant video. I needed to know how to loosen the hand brake to get the rotor off - we call them disks here. 👍

Should the emergency hand brake be on or off during this job? Thank you.

All due respect, but shouldn't these bolts be torqued to factory specs?

Do you need to change all the brake pads? What if i just want to change the front brake pads only

If the rear brakes are fine you can service just the front brakes. The rear brakes usually last longer because the front does most of the braking.

Maybe you did ? but when the rotor is off always put some lube between the parking shoe boss and the backing plates . Of course also spray off the brake dust .

Usually we'll put a little antiseize on the backing plate tough points where the shoes rest.

@@HomeOwnerRepair Yes, thats what I talking about . If you skip that sometimes you will get a rotation noise .
