@usfguy85 Compared to many other tenor players, even at the IE level of DCI, the clarity and motivic use in this solo are equal to a lot of the literature you hear played on the brass side. Yes, a majority of solos are simply fast notes, but Jackon provides amazing clarity between the drums which is almost unheard of in his predecessors.

@Cooley1 brian spicer is the only one that nearly compares to him.

@Cooley1 k man you post a video that you can go faster than those guys that you described. Man one thing you have to learn is you can't comment on what you don't know and drums is one of those things you don't know so just so you know, Tim Jackson is by far the best quad player around and only one compares to him and he was on cavies. So watch what you say next time.

There's no doubt that this guy is extremely skilled at this, very precise, and fast, but in a lot of parts of this there's no particularly attractive beat/rhythm to the madness. It just seems like a way to show how quickly he can smack something with a stick. I'm sure it's extremely hard and takes a lot of skill but... what's the point? It's not really music.

Hahaha, yes there is. Tenor drumming is an art, and most of it is way over your head. If you can’t feel the pulse in those parts, then you just don’t get it. Yes it absolutely is music, get over yourself
