  • Hi everyone!
    We had an 11 hour layover in Seoul, Korea and decided to leave the airport to do some exploring. We arrived at Incheon Airport at 6:45am and caught the 8:00am AREX train to Seoul Station. We visited Gwangjang Market and ate at the famous knife-cut noodles lady featured on Netflix. We took a stroll around Myeongdong before taking the 2:50pm train back to give us enough time to catch our 6:00pm flight.

    Hello, for the skincare you bought at olive young, were you able to carry liquids over 100ml in your carry on or backpack? I was going to do this but wondered how it was for you going through security with the makeup and skincare???
    thank you.

      Hello! We made sure to not purchase anything over 100ml per item. But there is an Olive Young store in Incheon Airport! Incheon’s website states “Only items from duty-free shops in "liquid item package exclusively for duty-free products" bags have no restriction to volume.” Hope that helps and have a great trip!

    Thank you for the video, its really help me for my 10h layover! i have a question, what transport did you take from gwangjang market to myeongdong?

      @hello_elle  Рік тому

      Hi! Thanks for watching! We took the train there. Gwangjang Market is right by Jongno 5-ga station. I would recommend downloading the Naver Map app, which has all the public transportation lines. The app has a mix of Korean and English, but still quite easy to navigate.

    Since you had the long lay over to explore Seoul, did you walk towards arrival or transfer when you landed? What was the process with customs and immigration? Did you have to show your connecting flight ticket? Did you get a SIM card? Is it necessary to get around? Thanks!

    • @hello_elle
      @hello_elle  Рік тому +3

      Hi! I believe we walked towards arrival since we were leaving the airport. Customs/immigration was really quick when we got there in the early AM. They asked for reason for visit (transit travel for us) and let us through without issues. Before we exited the airport, we had to fill out an additional form regarding contact info/flight info. We didn't get a SIM card, but picked up our pocket wifi at the airport. I think wifi would be enough if you have an iPhone so you can use navigation apps, messaging apps, or iPhone messages + facetime calls to contact people. Hope that's helpful!

      Thank you! I’m debating if I should explore since I’m getting in late in the afternoon. I know the last train is at 10:50 pm. How much time did you give yourselves to check in at the airport before your connecting flight?

      @@cookingwithhua7237 We took the 2:50pm train back to the airport because we wanted to use the free transit lounge to shower before our 6:00pm flight. But, the showers were closed for cleaning when we got there. I would recommend looking into what you may be interested in exploring outside of the airport to see if you have enough time. Otherwise, there's lots of shops and places to hang out within the airport!

      @hello_elle  Рік тому

      @@larrytabelin935 Hi! It depends on what time you arrive to Incheon Airport, but the free transit tours range from 1-5 hours long and transportation to/from the airport is included. They will let you know when/where to meet to return to the airport. If you plan to travel on your own (like we did), the last AREX train from Seoul Station departs at 10:50PM. Hope that's helpful!

      Hi! There are luggage storage services at both Incheon airport and Seoul Station. Since we only had a layover in Korea, our suitcases stayed in transit for pick up at our final destination. We carried our backpacks with essentials through the city.

      It appears that the KETA requirement has been suspended for U.S. residents since April 2023. I am not sure of if there have been changes to the QR code - you can look this up online. If it is required and you forget, they'll give you a paper copy to fill out the QR code upon arrival.

    How long roughly does it take to go through custom you know?

    • @hello_elle
      @hello_elle  Рік тому

      Hi! It took no more than 20 min. We got off the plane at 6:45am and were through customs by 7:05am. I would recommend filling out the Q-code (health attestation form) online 3 days prior to your trip. If you forget to do it, you fill out a paper form when you land and go into a separate line. There was only a handful of people who filled it out online, so there was basically no wait!
