Now there's a film in there that shouldn't be...
    At least to my knowledge

@@imogenedits Ha! Didn't think I would be the only one to comment and therefor stand out for more than my comment nor was I expecting a creator interested on feedback. But no there weren't any factual errors, at least, none that I know of, to be critisised, but rather one film that shouldn't be indulged the praise it was intended to earn. I am, of course, speaking of Captain Marvel, a film so industry standart, so bland an characterless, from its characters to its story one of the former so overpowerd and badly written, others just being burdoned by the their writing, the latter so senseless and lazily put together, even I probably could have done better (probably could have done other things better in this movie, too, tbh, many people might have could). So only it's intention now remains, and a film mostly characterised by it's intention alone is rarely anything else but deplorable. It's intention, of course being feminism, but not the kind fighting fir womens rights or status, but the unecessary kind brought forth by a time where originally femenist goals have long since been achieved, one that now, instead of strong, interesting characters, embodying a worthy cause, only gives us , borderline mysandry and the like, misguided progresdivism, if you like, embodied by films like Captain Marvel, TLJ and many more, preaching only their own self acclaimed virtues, instead striving for cinematic exellence.
You asked, so here you go :D...

Captain marvel is certainly not the best marvel film but it definitely should be given credit. It is the first film in the mcu that is both written and directed by a female.
The intention of the film was to develop a number of marvel comics that included a very powerful character named Carol Danvers. It does include things that are slightly more relevant to females today but I don’t see why it has the reputation for being a “feminist” film. Yes the central character is female and yes it sends the message that when knocked down we should get back up and fight, but it is a film about a war between green and blue people and a woman who can fly and breath in space, I mean come on, is it really that deep?! I also believe that Carol does not hate men, she respects and works closely with Talos & Fury (to name a few) and despite her slightly cold demeanour I see no undertones of ‘misandry’.
Relating to your comment about the films link to unnecessary feminism: the original goals of the feminist movement from the early 20th century *have* been achieved (right to vote, own property etc) but should we really stop there? Women still don’t have equal opportunities in the work place nor are paid the same as their male colleagues doing the same jobs. ALL women should be represented and empowered. Altho I don’t think the film does this very well.
These are just some of my thoughts and opinions (which seem very pro captain marvel) however I do have a lot of criticisms too.

I had a half written answer there but, the structure and content was just so horrendous, being more barely coherent rambling than actual argumentation, that I just gave up. If you're interested to continue the discussion for sport or interest I could try to rebute at a later time :)
