Finally! Thanks Tim, for keeping us updated - try to convince them (RL ALLAN) to once again produce a 5.5 x 8.5 NKJV Reference Bible. Thanks again brother...
Good review, Tim. I'm looking forward to the Diadem leather offerings next year with the words of Christ in red. I love my four Pitt Minions, but the 6.75pt font may eventually become too difficult to read for me. It's not a problem at the present time, but the Diadem looks like a wonderful upgrade from the Pitt Minion should the need arise. I hope Cambridge does NKJV and NLT versions of the Diadem as well. I believe other versions are on the drawing board.
I have been rolling with the ESV Pitt goatskin and the ESV Wide Margin Hardcover for years now. I know where certain verses should be on the page and and so using the 2 together has been the best combo ever. all my notes go in the wide margin and on the go i have the option for the smaller version. It looks like Cambridge has stopped the hardcover version though. for writting in I dont want the floppy eagle edition... so hopefully i can find a replacement hardback when I need a new one.
Have you looked at the ESV Catholic Edition? I'm curious about your thoughts on the changes that were made, which seem to (in general) make the text more accurate, though I may be biased as a Catholic.
I like it! Do you know what Cambridge is doing for the different leather covers? I really think this would look great in that edge lined cowhide cover that they did with the NRSV.....and also really like the calf split paste down Pitts
Wonder how it compares to the Wide Margin? My understanding is that Pitt and the WM have same pagination, as well. Would be kind of cool to have the three as a set.
Yeah, I have to agree. It's a shame because I was looking forward to this edition and I was excited when they announced that the calfskin version was going to be red. But looking at that print.... It's just too small, especially since other publishers have Bibles in that exact same size with bigger fonts. If they had gone with 8.75 or 9 pt I think it would have made all the difference in the world. No Bible can please everyone, I understand that. I'm sure this will sell well. But I think I'm going to have to pass on it, unfortunately.
I like this layout but would not buy unless a Cambridge. I can read type when my eyes are rested in morning. But would not buy leather editions in a small font. Why squint when you can see. E.g. bigger FONT.
Will be looking forward to purchasing the 'original' REVISED STANDARD VERSION [RSV] with 'the Apocrypha included--1977 Text' in this 'format' when it becomes available...! Let's not overlook the fact that the ENGLISH STANDARD VERSION [ESV] is an 'adaptation/revision' of the RSV that 'tends' to translate 'its readings' with 'a more conservative bent or flavor'--which is okay. Also...will 'very much' be looking forward to the NEW REVISED STANDARD VERSION [NRSV] with the Apocrypha included when it too becomes 'available' in this format...! And let's not forget that the NRSV also is 'an adaptation/revision' of the RSV that 'tends' to translate 'its readings' with 'a more liberal bent or flavor'--which too is okay. After all... as 'the Scriptures' teach, "...with GOD all things are possible...!" Lastly...I would 'absolutely 💘 love to 👀 see' the '1611 Text of the AUTHORIZED VERSION/KING JAMES VERSION [AV/KJV] republished in this format as 'exemplified' in the editions published by OXFORD UNIVERSITY PRESS and HENDRICKSON PUBLISHERS [...ISBN 978-0-19-955760-8 and ISBN 978-1-56563-162-5...]. (...and just 'as an afterthought'...wouldn't it be 'simply terrific' if 'the complete Text' of the DOUAY-RHEIMS VERSION [DRV] was to be published in 'this format' too...?) What an amazing 'boxed 🎁 gift set' that would be that contained the ESV...the RSV...the NRSV...the AV/KJV...and the DRV all 'in one'...!!! Like 👍 wow...! Like 👍 'double wow'...!! Like 👍 'triple wow'...!!! We can 'dream' can we not...?...again...with GOD 'all things' are possible...so 'the Scriptures' teach. Blessings... 😃, WILLIAM PAUL JOHNSON, Jr.
This font and the show through on the page may prove problematic for people with severe sight loss? As I personally have severe visual problems this bible has a (?) over it for me, but looks nice nevertheless. I do like the larger chapter numbers nevertheless and the fact that the book of the bible is printed on the outside of the page as opposed to the middle which happens occasionally in some copies of the scriptures.
@@timwildsmith Thanks for your reply, In my case print needs to be around 20-25 point with my normal spectacles, so a bible at around 8-11 point requires additional magnification. That is fairly extreme and a person needing this kind of assistance is really regarded as legally blind, but in practice has a degree of useful sight for getting around, especially in familiar places, but needs assistance in finding items in a store for example. No two eye conditions are exactly the same and each person's experience of sight loss is different.
They are expanding it into other translations - go see Burton Bibles channel on UA-cam - he had an interview with them which covers these Bibles in great detail and it's an excellent channel. Nice Bible but I'm a Crossway premium fanboy, they're my favourite! Great review, as always, brother - keep up the fab work! God bless, Tim!
Why oh why are they going to ruin the leather edition with red letter?! And not only that, but they are going to reduce the GSM which will make the red letter even worse???? There’s always got to be just one major problem with every single Bible that would otherwise be perfect. I’m probably not gonna get one now. Red letter seriously needs to be outlawed.
@@timwildsmith Yes, I agree. They are much better at completely ruining their New Testament typeface with washed-out pink letters than everyone else is.
It would be nice if they had a black letter option in non Premium Bibles. Some of us can't afford to buy a Premium Bible, so red letter is the only choice we have.

Hey-o! You're welcome, Rich!

You and me both!
I agree. The other versions would be great also...
Love the look of these and can’t wait to see them in quality binding.
They turned out great!!
This hard bound is smyth sewn as well.

I have not spent much time with it, Finian.

I've seen it somewhere that there will be a couple of choices, but I cannot find the specifics at the moment.
Wonder how it compares to the Wide Margin? My understanding is that Pitt and the WM have same pagination, as well. Would be kind of cool to have the three as a set.
I’m planning to do a comparison when I get a new WM in… I believe this is a very similar type size.
@@timwildsmith Very cool!
Still itching to see the leather-bound Diadems . . .
Me too!
Wow, unfortunately very small ageing in place really hard to read, I wait maybe3 NKJV with bigger font atleast 8.5 but really happy if they do 9.5🙏
You'll need to look at their TOPAZ edition to get a larger typeface.

Thank you for all the dimensions and details but I can never find the Font size and that is vital! Anything for old eyes 10-12 point?
I have a few large print reviews!

Glad they offer the Topaz with a big, bold, 10pt typeface.
not a lot of premium NRSV’s out there, NRSV Diadem w The Apocrypha would be my dream.
YES!!! ❤️
Thanx, Tim 🌹🌹🌹

Yes, I would guess that people with a severe condition would need to go with something larger and more opaque.

Hello bro beautiful bible
Hello!

It’s not my favorite either, but I think Cambridge does red letter better than most.
