Out of all the mesh products that I've been looking at and researching, Drum-Tec stands apart from all of them. I believe that I am even going to purchase your 18" kick drum for electronic kits, as well. Looking forward to doing business with you soon, Drum-Tec.
Very glad to hear that & thank you very much for your positive feedback! You can get in touch with our service team through info@drum-tec.de at any time you need some advice on any product. Kind regards
Thank you so much, that's nice to hear :) you can find more drumming/music/sound demo videos on my private channel digitaldrumming too if you like: www.youtube.com/@digitaldrumming Kind regards!
This helped me tremendously! Not only with knowing which pads I want for my kit, but also finally deciding the best company to do business with. I've seen so kany videos and even tried the pads out for myself at a friend's house. 10/10 really, I can't wait for my new heads to come in!!!
I like the fact that you hit the stick togheter while doing the mesh pads.. i was able to notice the noise exactly by having other noise to compare. excelent reduction
This is unbelievable how different this drum sounds with simply using mash head's.And I've also have the feeling while watching this video, that even the rebound is much better as without mash head's.
.. sound has nothing to do with the heads. it's electric, it is being edited in real time. You should really get a program like addictive drum 2, then you can have hundreds of amazing sounding kits with full editing suite as well. I can have drums that sound exactly like any song I want.
It sounds different, because they've worked on the sounds - stock out of the box the dm 10 sounds terrible - especially the snares, but playing around with the filter (tone), tuning and decay can make a huge difference.
Hi! We know that all pads should be connected in the correct way as described in the manual. We sold several kits in the last weeks but we didn´t receive no negative feedback from our customer. It seems that everything is working well now.
I'm glad I looked at the comments below before posting, and yes hell; this guy is good. Most demonstrators that I used to watch a couple of years ago, were just (mainly) guys who had a job in a drum store or company, and it showed. This guy has great technique and can really play. I wonder which band or bands he plays with. I NEED TO KNOW!
Thank you very much Steven! You can find some further info on my website www.ralfschumacher.eu, and feel free to check out my "personal" channel digitaldrumming here on YT :) Kind regards!
I just ordered a dm 10,so glad I have an option to replace the mesh heads that doesn't involve hacking it to shit with scissors and risking some serious damage to the circuitry
Good review, I got this kit a week ago except I got the mesh heads, about $1,100 on Amazon (Mesh Kit). The Alesis Hi-Hat X Pro ($99 on Amazon) is the noisiest trigger on my kit now, I wish the ride's bell was as responsive as in their demo videos.
Hi Matthew, we will do that for sure! It might take some time though, as the development of the Alesis Strike kit(s) has not yet been finished. Kind regards
Roland mesh heads are nice. I've played on them. it depends on what kind of feel you're looking for. what feels great to me, might not feel as great to someone else.
Agree to this one. I have both a Yamaha DTX900 and the Alesis DM10X Mesh. TSC heads are far superior to any mesh head available (which is why they also beat Roland) Still happy with the DM10X as a bckup kit however,
I really would like to start drumming, not professional just for fun, but i dont want to start a war with my parents or neighbours ;). On my list of potential sets are: this Alesis kit, the Roland TD4KX2 and the Roland TD11KV. How well does the Alesis "compete" in terms of triggering(double bass), pad noise and sound with the two Roland's. My personal favourite is the Alesis because of the extra tom and cymbal. What of the three kits would you choose? (budget is ~1200€)
which drum kit did you use during this videoclip? the sound of snare drum is awesome, it is the sound I was looking for, but I have not found it yet, thanks in advance
je suis belge et je voudrai savoir si ce kit (qui est vraiment génial d'après les critiques) est disponible en belgique? Et si il existe un pack comprenant les peaux drum-tec et le kit?
Hey Joe, uh sorry the video is already several years old & I cannot remember how I set up the trigger settings at that time. The drum-tec mesh head upgrade for the Alesis kits is still available: www.drum-tec.com/mesh-heads/alesis-mesh-head-upgrade This reduces pad noise quite a bit & improves playability/playing feel too. Please feel free to get in touch through experts@drum-tec.de for further assistance if you like. Kind regards!
Can you tell me what the settings are on the hi-hat? I have all my triggers set exactly like I want them, but I can't find that high pitched crisp hi-hat sound. Thanks!
Hi, sorry for the late reply! Yes they do, you can find the complete upgrade package here: www.drum-tec.com/drum-tec-mesh-upgrade-for-alesis-dm10x-kit-pro-mesh-heads kind regards
Hi! The DM10X mesh kit already inkludes silencer inlays just like the drum-tec design meshheads. A delivery to the U.S. is not possible but we can deliver to Canada if this is an option for you.
Congrats for the video ! Nice drumming ! I would like an information because I would like to buy Alesis DM 10 X Kit, does the jack cables connected from the console to the cymbals, snare... are provided when you buy the product ? Thanks a lot, see u
Hi @drum tech have question to ask I'm considering purchasing this kit but I have my concerns about buying the mesh kit and wanted to ask after adding the mesh kit does any special software or firmware have to be downloaded and installed in the module. Alesis was talking about there is so much that has to be done and they get into detail about saduring wires and change so much stuff etc. Etc. Etc. And they have to adjust levels on the module. Does your mesh kit require any of that?
Hi, its really necesary to put the silencer inlay (the white foam)? I have a 8" silencer inlay, can i use it with a 10" mesh head? I i must to use a 10" silencer inlay? Thanks!!
Great review -- how does this setup compare to a standard 5 piece acoustic set? I've primarily played acoustic sets, but have started playing smaller venues and looking for a more compact option. thanks in advance for your help!

Hi, I'm Walter from Rome. Congratulations on the sound and adjustment of your Alesis; could you send me the setting values or in any case a sort of guide to get a sound like yours? Thanks
Dear Walter, thank you! The video is already about 7 years old, unfortunately I don´t have any settings from back then. Basically I was using the stock DM10 sounds and adjusted the trigger settings to my individual playing, nothing else :) Kind regards!

Good morning, I have an Alesis DM10 studio electric drum kit, and I want to change its original heads for Drum Tec mesh ones, can you tell me how much it costs? And if they ship to Peru?
I don't know if it was dynamic compression on your camera microphone, but I was unable to hear a significant difference in the volume of the different heads in the video. The expressiveness of the mesh heads is much more evident, though.
Please use headphones for monitoring, the audible difference is quite obvious actually, but monitoring through laptop speakers migth make it difficult to hear. Kind regards
Hey Gabriel, listen to me bro.... i"ve been playing for over 15yrs. Most people that say buy Roland or Yahmaha instead of Alesis has mostly to do with the pads. For around $140 dollars you can change ALL the drum pads on the Alesis, and you will STILL have saved over $700, as oppose to what the Roland costs! Remember this... the most IMPORTANT drum pad on an electronic set OR accoustic set is the SNARE. Period!! So it is important that the snare has that bounce, that reaction, that pop of life when you hit it. Everything else is Toms, bro. So yea, I would still replace the toms on the Alesis, but I would give my most attention to the Snare, Think about it... almost every REAL drummer has a different brand name snare than his or her drum kit!! Because the Snare to a drummer is what a Bat is to a baseball player. get the Alesis bro, and change the heads. What's the difference between the Drum-tec mesh heads and the stock Alesis mesh heads that can be purchased instead of the Mylar? I prefer mesh, but why not just get the kit from Alesis with mesh instead?
Hi, the kit from the video was an older version of the kit, at that time there was no mesh option from Alesis. We still offer upgrades for the new mesh kit also though, as different kinds of mesh heads offer different kinds of rebound/playing feel and noise level. I just called a music store near me "Long & McQuade" and they said they dont even stock the Alesis DM10 because of them consistently breaking down. Apparently, Alesis takes months on end to fix an issue...does anyone else have these concerns?
Hello, I just got a Alesis Crimson Kit and i desperately need help!! Im having trouble with my bass pad being "too bouncy", registering 2-3 hits from my Pearl Eliminator Pedal. Is there any thing that I can use to replace the foam pad in the Kick Pad?
Hi! Would this kit be able to connect to Addictive Drums, or any other midi based software via the Alesis trigger I/O? And how are these heads in regard to dynamics when using such software? Cheers!
Mesh heads have much better rebound than the stock Alesis heads. The stock Alesis heads are like playing on cardboard boxes and make a lot of noise. There's also a mod you can do on the DM10 kit for even better rebound while using mesh heads.

Great set up. How can I change the crash cymbal sound on my Alesis DM 10
Can you please share with me your setting for the snare, i.e., sensitivity, threshold, retrigger, and so on. It would be a great help.
