They're not most cost effective to run - electricity is far more expensive than gas.l making them 2-3x more expensive. Lairs

They actually are, only around 40% of the heat generated by gas is transferred into your pot. 90% of the heat generated by induction is transferred into the pot, so they are intact the most energy efficient cooktop to have as you are not wasting heat/energy.
