Not quite, Tom is launching his Solo album in October so it'd be at *least* a good year before Keane would even consider doing something.. But I think it'll happen, eventually.
"How can a prince be a murderer and be beloved by his people? how can an Apothecary be bad with good intention? How can an invisible man make himself More lonely by being seen?" - The Monster
When you're killing worthless pedo rapist militants it should never be seen as bad and when you're surrounded by spies you would rather stay invisible... Though implanted cameras in people's eyes don't offer such comfort!
And the medical health diminishing drugs they push and then something to counter the side effects sometimes multiple drugs are offered with good intentions but... Profit is their game!
Coldplay circa late 90 - 2000 was amazing, but Coldplay circa 2010 started losing their authenticity. They still have the music, but too American hype there. Hahah
This song brought me to tears, especially knowing about the synopsis of this movie... When Felicity Jones' voice over came on at 1:50, "I wish I had hundred years... A hundred years I could give to you...", I couldn't stop thinking about my mom who has breast cancer... It just breaks my heart :(
Fadi Chalouhy yeah my dad died caner tumor 9 months ago and bronchopnuemonia my best mate too.hard worse at xmas but keane gives us a warm glow like we relate to were there going in songs take care HH.
Not normally one to shed a tear, write or even read comments on these platforms, however today i feel i must... To all those confused, angered, upset, even happy about the state of affairs in our world. I implore you, remember whats important. Its your family, the precious little time you have in this life and how even the smallest decisions on your part can affect others. Don't isolate yourself, don't isolate your family and friends. Be present and make the time count before it is lost.. A song so powerful and uplifting as this can serve as a reminder, thank you Keane.
This song will always remind me of my teenage rage. I felt the need to escape from everything, from everyone I knew and never look back. I felt like I couldn’t breathe from all the pain and memories. Music has been saving me for quite some time now.
My son is a very functional autistic boy and I feel so identified with this song, OMG his imagination can cross the entire world, how much I love my son, Thank you TOM!!!!!

I wanna hand you my heart and let you carry the load Nobody tells you anything you need to know I need a friend but a friend is so hard to find I need an answer but I'm always one step behind Cause it takes time Learning to fly Do you ever feel like all you want is to go home To kiss the earth, to weave a way through this storm Some days I rage like a fire in the wilderness Some days I only need the darkness and a place to rest Oh it takes time (It takes time) Learning to fly Tear up this town Blinking in the sunlight as the walls come down This fire will burn Digging for a truth that just can't be found Don't want your lessons in love I want to tear it all up I need a friend but a friend is so hard to find I need an answer but I'm always one step behind Oh it takes time (It takes time) Yes, it takes time (It takes time) Learning to fly Tear up this town Blinking in the sunlight as the walls come down This fire will burn Digging for a truth that just can't be found Don't want your lessons in love I want to tear it all up
My mum was ill when I was 16. It’s almost 10yrs to the day when she was diagnosed, and still, this song and this film and this book take me back so fast it makes my head spin. Beautiful.
I does have big competition, but it dfenetly can, the problem is lala land which at this point is aiming for BP, but i definitely possible and would like it.
Tim Rice-Oxley said about the song: I’m pleased to tell you that a brand new Keane song will feature on the soundtrack of the new film from legendary Spanish director Juan Antonio Bayona, A Monster Calls. Our friendship and collaboration with Bayona goes back a few years. He came to several Keane concerts in Barcelona and we eventually worked together on his incredible (and Q Award-winning!) video for Disconnected. In 2014 Bayona asked us to write a song for A Monster Calls, his film adapted from Patrick Ness' very powerful novel. Writing and recording the song has been a fascinating process for me. Two years ago I watched some of the early shooting in Manchester, and have had many long conversations with Bayona since then! I had the opportunity to spend a lot of time on set in Barcelona trying to understand the spirit of the story as told in the film, and specifically the emotions that needed to be captured in the song. Bayona and his team are extraordinarily passionate about what they do, and with the ‘feel’ of the movie constantly changing, I had to work hard to find the right tone. The result (after several attempts!) was a song called “Tear Up This Town.” We recorded it in London and Sussex in January, and I was lucky enough to watch the Basque National Orchestra recording parts for it in San Sebastián shortly afterwards - a real privilege and an emotional experience! It was wonderful to be back in the studio making music together - hope you enjoy the results!"
From China, has been a BIG FUN of KEANE since high school (3 YEARS) + bachelor (4 YEARS) +first job (3 YEARS), now living in the Netherlands, glad to hear you're back!!
Mate. the feels right now are real. literally grew up with Keane been listening since I was 7 nostalgia is gonna kill me and I'm not complaining. hearing that voice is just so pure and emotional. the new fans here probably won't understand. but as an old timer I'm in tears.

Keane still sounds to be the most valuable pop music...the book ( ‘A Monster Calls’) was unbelievably moving, the song is fantastic, can't wait to see the movie in March!!!
I made the mistake of watching this movie on Mother's Day years ago. I had heard about the movie before but had up until then never seen it. It was and still is a beautifully emotional movie and one I recommend. The mother if you've seen the movie or watched the trailer has cancer, a terrible illness that my late mother also had, so me watching it on a day that celebrates all mothers was a little bit painful, bucket of tears basically. I think I ended up getting a headache due to all the crying. Sad tears and happy tears and I had to find this gorgeous piece of music because it wouldn't leave my head.
Lewis MacDougall is genuinely fantastic throughout this film. Definitely deserves top billing star of the movie. Wow, my emotions were in turmoil, I havn't cried this much at a movie since forever. Absolutely fantastic.
Keane is simply a remarkable example of musicianship. Love you guys!!! Please come back with more awesome music like this one! Question : does this song play anywhere in the movie or only at the very end after the credits??
Watched the movie because of this song. Zero regrets. I've fell in love with this song the moment it pop up on my spotfy random playlist. I wish to go for a Keane concert in the near future. Thank you for this master piece.
I've watched the movie 1 hour ago and now I can say...That movie is one of the most beautiful movies so far! I cried as a little boy. We need a new album Keane!!!
Yeah ... But side note, Tom Chaplin, the leader singer of the band, is releasing an album next month !!!! His songs have the Keane vibe so there's that to cure your sorrow
It has been 4 years since I last heard this song and seen this film, and I have almost completely forgotten about it until recently. I cannot believe I could have nearly forgotten about it. After all this time, the song still hits me the same way it did 4 years ago. Missed it so much, had it on repeat since the morning. It's night now. Will be revisiting the film real soon, and the book, too.
Literally made me cry..that one line.."I wish I had a hundred years..a hundred years I could give to you"..I truly wish I could give my daughter a 100 years of my life..
Only a heartbreaking movie like this one could bring you back together. In a world where everything is possible, where monsters heal us and we can overcome fear and loss, Keane can return. Please return..
The book is so beautiful, my absolute favourite ever. When I heard my favourite band had the song for the original Soundtrack... Well you can imagine how I felt ;)
fantastic song with Keane's unparalleled cinematic quality. Thank you for writing this. To echo so many other comments... glad you're back and looking forward to more additions to the fantastic Keane treasure trove of music! Sending much love and appreciation from Hamilton, Ontario Canada ☺
Please... Keane return. The music needs you.
Yeah. Music needs quality touch from Keane
This is the comeback song! the hiatus is over.

@@Melancomania the book is actually exactly the same as the movie, it is a fairly short book.
"How can a prince be a murderer and be beloved by his people? how can an Apothecary be bad with good intention? How can an invisible man make himself More lonely by being seen?" - The Monster
What is the answer to those questions?
Bit of a beast the well oiled monster!

It’s 2021, and this is still my go-to song whenever I feel down.

Thank you guys
Discovered this song by the end of 2024... just so... emotional and beautiful🥲🥰
A song to remind a generation of just how talented Keane are. Genius - the most uplifting song I've heard in years from any band.
Coldplay's Up&Up is a great uplifting song as well 😁
up and up? seriouslyy??? hahaha coldplay is good but they are overrated
Ok! it might not be good enough from your point of view but it's one of my favs and i used to listen to it before each exam until i aced them all :D
Coldplay circa late 90 - 2000 was amazing, but Coldplay circa 2010 started losing their authenticity. They still have the music, but too American hype there. Hahah

Some days I only need the darkness and a place to rest
Oh it takes time

Blinking in the sunlight as the walls come down
This fire will burn
Digging for a truth that just can't be found
