Love the hardware...I would repurpose them for tea towel holders...I collect vintage embroidered tea towels....they would look perfect hanging from those. 🤗 Couldn't you hear me shouting "buy the Lennon Sisters booklet!"... I grew up listening to them on Lawrence Welk ...it's what my parents watched so us kids did too. Thanks for sharing! 🙋♀️
I believe the nursing cap is circa WWI. They wore the longer handkerchief style cap. By WWII the caps were heavily starched and folded without any long back drape. In the beginning all nursing caps were simply handkerchiefs, folded differently to signify the school of nursing you graduated from. As aseptic technique and sterilization became a factor, hair could not touch the collar and the cap was shorter than the back hairline. Great find and good resale value if it’s authentic, which it appears to be. 🌹
The black panther was a prize won from playing a game at a carnival or fair. I remember them from the 60's to the 70's, but they probably go back to the 50's. The TV lamps were made in that style in the 50's. The punch is a train conductors ticket punch. It was worn around the index finger and pressed down with the thumb. It can be used with the right or left hand. It saved wear and tear on the wrist that a regular punch would do.
$3 for those pumkins was a steal! I love the drawer pulls so pretty and the toothbrush holder is a great find too. All in all you found some really cool things. Thank you so much for sharing x
The pumpkins are so cute! The nurse’s head cover could be from the Vietnam war also. Did you ever see the show, China Beach? It was fantastic!I think I remember the nurses wearing those head coverings.
I do enjoy your videos, you are wholesome, kind to those you meet, you flea market shopping is share d allowing us to shop with you, your street shots include homes, scenery, cars, etc.,it gives one the feeling of shopping with you and you speak to us when you shop. Wonderful site. Feels like you share friendship through the tube. Blessings.
I would guess pumpkins from 50's since USA made. Drawer pulls were lovely. Great buys Rene. I haven't forgotten yours items. Just need to go through some things to find them.
@5:43, my grandmother had a red Cross apron, like the hat. She wrapped bandages during the war and had to wear an apron like that. We didn't know what to do with it, so we donated it to her small town museum.
apostlewoody I would have to agree with you. It’s small enough to hit perfectly in the hand. I was thinking maybe to punch train tickets. He would of walked from car to car asking for tickets, then punching.
I kept flip flopping on different channels but I kept coming back to you lol. Love all your vintage finds. Would love to see a future home tour. New fan from Texas!
Thanks for the birds eye view of the flea market, its cool, I look for stuff I would buy. Today I'm repairing a transmission on a rear tine rototiller I picked. $10 dollars becomes $300....
@@shakeme3290 I did a rebuild and sold a sold a troy bilt pony in April. On this mtd it was the gear selector switch and broken woodruff keys. I welded new pins on the selector forks and made new keys to save from buying parts
Great vlog. Loved those mini mannequins, retro tooth brush holder, vintage nurse cap n the handles. We've upcycled drawers n put mismatched handles on them n they ended up looking really cool. Now I don't want any of our handles to match >.
bcoolfool 101 I wish I could find a pull for a vintage hutch I have! I haven’t had an luck, the front is curved slightly. I even considered using rope but it does not really go with the style.
You have a really good eye for smalls. $7 to enter 2 swap meets. Bought a 50's Ford truck glove box door and a tag off a Seeburg jukebox for $3 total. There were no oil cans for sale at the auto swap! Thanks American Pickers.
Hey Renee - Loved the video! At 4:56, the Lennon Sisters were very popular (famous?) girls who sang on the Lawrence Welk Show in the 50's. At 5:42, I'm thinking that the nurses cap couldn't possibly be any newer than World War I. They were definitely not so fussy in later wars. They had to be dressed to go-o-o-o!! The pumpkin family is great and I look forward to a Halloween tour in a few months.
I thought that 77 was a firefighter's helmet badge. The panther brings back memories, I found one just like that the first time I went garbage picking as a kid. It was a house clean out across the street from aunt and uncle and the landlord let my brother and me go through all the stuff the people left in the house. I was hooked, we had so much fun and found lots of cool things. Here I am many, many years later still having fun going through trash.
Our vintage peach colored subway tile bathroom has the toothbrush holder and cup holder in one and a few inches over is the soap dish above the sink. I hate displaying our toothbrushes and don't use bar soap at sink so I had my husband cut me a piece of vintage slate to go across both of them for a shelf. Worked perfect. Pumpkins would look cute with a potted plant in them in October until Halloween.
I love the pumpkins, that’s a very great find, and I love the nurses cap, I’ll bet the nurse who wore it saw a lot of things go on. The drawer pulls are awesome, they’re so pretty. Great scores!
Great finds, I love that toothbrush holder, can't imagine why so many people passed it by. Enjoy the way you review your finds at the end as so many UA-camrs resllers just grab stuff to sell while it is plain to see you enjoy the item's even if they are not for your collections and you sell them down the road.
For me personally, it is important to enjoy what I purchase. I see it as this: I'm taking the time to clean the item, research what it is, bring it to the flea market or take pictures to resell online so I want to like what I'm spending all this time on.
Oh wow! My jaw hit the floor when you said you only paid $3 for those pumpkins! Those are great! I have a lot of the vintage blow molds, but I have never seen those style before either.
The ledge above the toothbrush holes holds the toothpaste, my grandma and grandpa lived in an Oklahoma farmhouse and had a light blue one in their bathroom! Thanks for the memory ;)
At 7:15 I just learned those are furniture coasters. Like for legs, wheels to sit on. I guess to protect the floor. I've seen brown, green and clear. Now white lol. Great vid!!
Could you hear me yelling at the screen to get those Jack-o-lanterns? I love them! Never seen them before though. I am a member of several vintage Halloween groups on Facebook and have never seen any posted like them, so was thinking maybe they're newer, but being marked made in USA they could be older. Either way they are the coolest! I cant wait to see how you display them! TFS Renee!
We even noticed that with yardsale in our area. Some dont start until 9 or 10 . I grew up with 7 am yardsale which we would early bird by 6:30. Times are changing. But I think I would plan go early then grab a coffee and do a second run lol.
Are sure the panther that you are talking is not Penn St. Lion or the Jaguar symbol for the Car Company!!!!!! The Pulls or Handles where you are from, (example some places in the USA call it soda others call it pop), seem to have very long bolts to tighten them up by means the wood would be very thick so they are not the type for normal dressers or cabinets but for Doors/ drawers on built in cabinets/wardrobe...... As for Bird Friend to be... is to put out a few shinny pennies in a nailed down pie tin (high up) with a few seeds and few pieces of barely cook meat nearly raw, bread and watch him come by!!!!!!!!!!
Love the porcelain old toothbrush holder, and the vintage hardware pulls they are great, I see people make jewelry with them, I would have picked those up also Love vintage Halloween I collect it especially tin litho and paper mache, Nice haul
The green toothbrush holder reminds me of jadeite, that color. My grandparents had an old Victorian style house and one of the bathrooms had that color green fixtures with yes, the green toothbrush holder. I thought for sure that you would pick up the Lennon Sisters album...Kathy, Peggy, Diane and Janet. I had Lennon Sister paper dolls. They became famous on the Lawrence Welk Show. The pumpkins are definitely cool. The mention of burning a ‘votive’ candle means probably no older than 70’s. Good finds! Thanks for the tour...😊👍🏻🎃
Loved your video...I actually watched it at my flea market I go to every Tuesday. Flea Markets have changed today from what they used to be I think because people don’t sell as well as they used to which causes less people to go to buy. eBay has really changed everything I believe. I had a wife that collected tooth brush holders, the figurine type, some can be worth a LOT of money. Interesting but she bought more then a few from people that thought they were fish tank ornaments Not much demand for the wall mounted ones, yours is missing the mount that attaches to the wall and holds the holder. This affects it a drastically in my opinion The punch is for punching tickets like on trains or sporting events. Kind of neat. I think the Shriner piece is a license plate topper, pretty good find. Nurse cap is really good too If the esso figure was real would be worth some bucks but I’m betting it was fake. Well got to get, going to the auction, see some good stuff 😉
The Esso figures seemed in too good of shape to be real, but the seller did have a large oil collection. eBay has changed everything, in some bad ways but also in some good. Good aspect it allows for people that find things in NJ to sell them to someone out in California or even across the big pond. Does make it hard sometimes to buy at the right price when you hear the good ol' "On eBay that sells for...."
Paper and Moose I know what you mean, around here the Goodwill stores on some of their items print out a copy of a similar on eBay to show what it is worth. Only thing is most time it isn’t a completed auction or not the same Just now at the auction I’m at there was a US paratrooper switchblade Knife , woman tells me on eBay they sell for $120...I pointed eBay rules prohibit selling switchblades and PayPal will freeze your account for 10 days if they catch you ,( don’t ask me how I know) In any case I got it for $28 and a better switchblade for $25 so I was happy I’ve been on EBay for over 20 years, I love that it allows me to do what I do but hate how it has changed so much
Wow 3$ for all 3 pumpkins ..that was the deal of the year ..you know their worth alot more then that .. good job ..the nurse scarf that you bought is probably fron the 20s or 30a I think.. did you ephemera paper you where looking at ? I love the pumpkins! Definitely vintage, I would have picked them up in a heartbeat. Great find!
$3 for those pumpkins! My jaw literally just dropped. WOW.
$3.00 for the pumpkins ! What a score !

I love the panther and pumpkins cute to! 🐱😍🐺
Im not being weird or anything, lol, but I must say.........you have a great personality. Your kindness shines bright!
Thank you for the kind compliment!

The pumpkins are adorable. What a deal!

Jack-o'-lanterns are crazy cool. Hoping you pick him up I love Halloween
Love the antique pulls. Was glad to see you purchased them:) The jack-o-lanterns are sweet!
I think that's a ticket punch
That market is m ore interesting than the ones in my area. . Thanks for sharing
apostlewoody I would have to agree with you. It’s small enough to hit perfectly in the hand. I was thinking maybe to punch train tickets. He would of walked from car to car asking for tickets, then punching.
Pumpkins, made in USA, good chance of being older. Very nice!
I would agree on nursing cap, pre WWII, a little research should help you narrow it down.
You could train that crow to BRING YOU lots of shiny, pretty things that he finds...
That was fun....good prices

Love the pumpkins but I love the Red Cross head cover better, great find. I can’t wait to see your place come Halloween.

I don't think trash picking every really leaves you. Once you know that people put out amazing stuff for garbage day, you are hooked!
Loved the video. Ill bet those pumpkins are probably from the 50s. Especially since they say made in USA! They are rather unique. Good find.
"use votive candle", I think they have to be 70's. Let us know.

The pumpkins are fabulous! I thought you would have paid around $50 for them. I won one of those panthers at a carnival as a child in the late 50s.
The Lennon sisters sang on the Arthur Godfrey or Lawrence Welk show. Very popular in latev40's early 50's.
Great buy on the pumpkins. Looks like a fun day. I wish we had flea markets around where I live in KY. Thanks for sharing.😃😃

Keep these coming :)
Think the pumpkins are pre-plastic era. I remember them from 40-50 years ago.
Use nurses hat to go with those vintage outfits you found in trash from the giving house.
Take those individual wrapped baby wipes in your pocket to use after handling rusty stuff. :)
I keep some in my purse and in my car :0)
It's harder to find toothbrushes to fit those holes nowadays. I had a nice counter top holder and ran into that issue.
Didn't think about that but so true. I'm hoping it can be re-purposed!
Those Michelin and Esso figures are really neat...I'd pick those guys up! That toothbrush holder is a nice 30's bathroom piece, but the worst place to hang a toothbrush, a breeding ground for nasty critters!
Hopefully it can be re-purposed!
A display rack for a collection of vintage toothbrushes?
