I had a custom drum made; 8x14 maple/brass/maple hybrid with a BB edges top and bottom and I LOVE it. Pops, beefy and sounds great either unmuffled or with a moongel depending on the room.
Great Vid!! Salivating at the mouth. All are very sweet. For me there is something about the 30 degree Walnut. That would be my pic. Again great vid and playing Steve.
Steve I appreciate the demonstration and you are certainly a man of unbelievable experience however the first two cravioto's we're of different depths so how could we possibly get a sound file from the baseball bat to the 30 degree?????? Beside that love you videos you are an asset to all drummers around the world thank you for all your service!!!!
I love all of these!! Of the four, and considering i'm listening on my computer, I prefer the walnut with the sharper edge. I do have a question. Why the difference in lug number (8 or 10) depending on the edge? Why 8 lug on the 30 degree snares compared to 10 on the rounded edges? Is there a reason? Just curious.
This is the greatest product demonstration I've ever seen.

that's some pretty good snare! I'll take any of them thanks.
Yeah, walnut is fantastic. Gorgeous in every aspect!

i wish i could get my snare to sound like that baseball edge maple.
i nees the 8 lug walnut.
8 lugs or 10, 8 sounds fatter? baseball sounds more open than 30 degree?
I'd prefer the 30° Cherry
