When an unknown character manages to get its entire story told across a single battle, and well enough that you can feel a degree of understanding towards it and its situation. Honestly fantastic.
I only now realise this, but the banshee's "chilling caress" attack, features the spirits of all active within her fight, (ie The father, mother, boyfriend, and wench, and herself as the banshee,) and three other unamed spirits, they really went into detail with that piece, not to mention the fight itself!
I forgot I had this mod installed on my second playthrough. I kid you not, I thought I missed this encounter in my vanilla playthrough and had to look up whether this was base game or not. This mod is actually too good.
Banshee is my favorite miniboss. The storytelling is incredible you will get most of her lore even only from one fight. If you want to know all important details about her tragic life, enable her as a Boss quest (like in this video) and defeat her in all three level. It doesn't hurt that it is an interesting, original and really challenging fight and the artstyle fit to the DD, either.
Honestly I love the idea that as children of the crawling chaos humans in the Darkest Dungeon universe share the ability with their maker to warp the world around them as a result of their intense negative thoughts and feelings gaining substance until fully manifesting into reality..
Sorry if I'm late, but it's supposed to represent her corpse, now corrupted with fungi - it's own living thing. However, as a result she has hatred for it, and her dementia move is why it stuns the monster - and when the corpse is destroyed, the last bit of what was bounding her to a tormented afterlife is gone - her corpse. Before she apparently leaves to a blissful afterlife, she thanks the heroes for freeing her from her torment of being trapped as a ethereal spirit. At least, that's what my brain could make head and tails out of it.
@@belafeldbusch3397 Unfortunately i have found out that she may have aborted her baby by axing her guts out hence why she has a hole in her tummy. As for why her head is detached i have no idea. The voices in her head told her to kill her own baby, not herself as previously thought.

I did this fight with level 1 heroes. Was close as hell, several deaths door checks but luckily everyone survived. Botanist for the win.

The giant mushroom slug monster is meant to be here now fungai infected corpse and it's why the actually ghost sometimes stuns it
