Didn't use a keylite... which I notice has some 'chain' spring extenders. I used a B&Q... still a good product...BUT... The springs fitted as per instruction would have been under too great a tension, risking pulling fittings free... I used a couple of strips of that galvanised steel stripping with holes perforated along the length to create spring extenders which reduced overall tension (still operates properly) and made the springs easier to fit. On the opposite side of where the hatch hinges down, I also installed an upright panel in the loft. This reduces massively the risk of someone moving around in the loft space stepping back and falling down through the open hatch.
