Geez that looks easy, my wife should be-able handle that. If she gets stuck, i can watch the video again while giving instructions at problem points if any.
Really good film. Really informative.The music however is very dark and ominous.Makes me think there’s going to be a murderer in the loft.

the video looks so slick and simple, but none of these companies address the main issue that each house has a number of variables involved. You will inevitably have to cut through a structural joist in order to get the hatch in, install complicated carpentry to enable the installation safety as well as negotiate insulation and various different levels of loft floor. Only very few situations will be a DIY job

Our technical team suggests, to make installation as easy as possible, we offer a range of different sizes of loft ladders that will allow the installer to choose a loft ladder that suits best with the ceiling joists spacing. We do understand that the positioning of a loft ladder cannot always be determined by the ceiling joists positioning and spacing and in some cases ceiling joist bridging may be required when preparing the loft ladder opening. Yeah it's worth mentioning that a lot of modern roofs are constructed with trusses, trusses generally are spaced at 600 centres and these loft lader kits are designed (if your fortune enough) to slip in between them (as the guy from keylite mentioned above you get slight variations in sizes to simplify this). As for triming out you should just be able to put two noggins in between trusses for either end and it's not even necessary to put these in shoes, just fix well as there only job is to carry the cealing board edge. If you do have to trim out then double up on your trimmers each end (is a building regs must) place in double joist shoes, and shoe all connecting cut cealing joists. By now you will have created an opening the right length but it will be to wide so reduce with a final trimmer (between the two you've already put in) and use single joist shoes. Hope this helps it's so hard to explain in words without actually showing you...nail every joists hanger hole and if your really clever you can do all this without disturbing the existing cealing thus leaving this till last to trim to your new opening you've created then there is no making good after and the jobs done 👍

Hi Wh\t is the dimension of the hatch cover, please? I can't find it anywhere in the video. I need the hatch cover the 95cm by 60 cm (L=95cm B = 60 cm)? Is this suitable? If not can this be adjusted?

I have jus received this ladder. And everything seems ok. Accept when i have put it up. It is so So stiff to try and open. So i took it back out. And ive literally got to really force and price it to open it fully. I rang keylite. And they said. They do tend to tighten the springs quite tight. For couriering etc. But its that tight. I cant pull it down with the bar. I have to reach and drag it down and push it open, feels like its going to snap. Wer as in your video it comes down with such ease. Any ideas. Thanks.
