    Love that Ian becomes audibly more excited when talking about the actually cool pistols and then he gets significantly less interested when he's talking about boring tilting barrel pistols.

    Larry Vickers has made considerable contributions to the firearms industry and I admire that. Great slings. I’m not a fan of his involvement with Heckler & Koch however. I don’t know everything about it, but as a fan of HK, I personally would have told them “Not that guy, find someone else.” - Just my opinion. There, I said it. I feel better now.

    Hard to beat the P2000s; one of the few manufacturers that actually sold dual caliber kits, 40 S&W/357Sig. You could even get them with 9mm conversion barrels or the 9mm barrels may very well fit in the 40/357 though I can’t recall exactly. It’s been a long time since I got my 9mm barrel and recoil spring. I know neither caliber is that popular today but it’s hard to beat both in their respective strengths with say 9mm; 40 S&W is excellent at barrier penetration and maintaining lethality post barrier while the 356 Sig just has top notch terminal performance with a flat shooting projectile which at lighter weights can easily penetrate NIJ Level 3A soft body armor. 357 Sig can actually get to SBR velocities and similar weights to AR platforms with 2,500 FPS with 60 Grain projectiles and with even lighter offerings an on par 3k FPS for 55 grain isn’t probably that out of the question.

    Did you recognize, that there was a book named "HK Heckler & Koch" by Manfred Kersten and Walter Schmid in 1999?
    It tells very much about the known HK guns, the history of HK, but also about the history about the G11 and other rare HK guns link selfloading shotguns with brass cased ammo. There are pictures from the prototypes and also a picture and a descripion of a HK33 in 4,73 × 33 mm.
    The book is only available in german language, but I'll do my very best, if you have questions :)

    Oh boy, looks like required reading. I'm an unabashed H&K freak, having owned a USP in .40 for more than 20 years. It is the only SA pistol I own that has never ever bobbled a round on loading, failed to fire, or failed to extract/eject. And this is with factory ammo, cheap reloads, and my own hand loads. It happily eats whatever it's fed. The Glock comes close, but I've had a few issues with it.

    • @Horgler
      @Horgler 2 роки тому +1

      It's not just the P30. They haven't really iterated on any of their hammer fired lines in over a decade now. It seems like it would be a no brainer for them to add slide-cuts and improve their triggers to compete with things like the Beretta 92X/M9A4, Arex Zero 2 and newer P226 models.
