Wow, this video was EXACTLY what I was hoping to find to avoid making dumb mistakes early on. Doesn't ruin the story at all and is proving to be insanely helpful for me to make the early decisions that matter. Thank you!!
Damn, man. You done did it. This is absolutely required listening for anyone looking to get the most out your play through; even if you’re a mid-tier veteran with both games like I am. Thank you for this. You did the gamer gods justice with this video. You ARE the man, man.
Nice work ! I dont agree about difficult level, Elex 2 melee gameplay is way better ! I have 1 extra tip : save before enything ( talk, fight, explore, etc ). We can kick end/ or sholder bash. if you roll and use kick key, you will perform a shold bash. If you roll and atk in right side in not the same roll and atk in left side ( same dmg, but not same range ). If you roll and atk, most enemies can be stagger ! Good do it for combos.
Also, the game doesn't tell you this, but if you're running berserker, you HAVE TO BE A LEVEL 20 TO BECOME A WARRIOR. You can become a cultivator just fine but anything beyond, you must be level 20. I figured this out the hard way completing all the required reference quests and then got hit with that cheap shot lol
Yeah. To be a paladin you need to be level 30 -.-. AND to add insult to injury you need to pay for your own armor -.- I need to farm 9 more levels and my pockets are empty. And I have already learned the hunting perk's first level to obtain more stuff from dead animals...
Hint #20 was something I believe you omitted in the ELEX 1 video, but I noticed it playing through. I love this little detail that people actually do little side dialogues that help the world make more sense because your actions have actual real time consequences. Thank you so much for your videos, the aforementioned one really helped me having fun playing ELEX 1 - I had a hard time before and was really butthurt about buying it. Now I am thinking about getting number 2 after this video. Stay awesome!
There was actually some stuff I didn't even realise in my first playthrough but I cannot wait for an indepth review and learn another perspective, since I couldn't be bothered to play that game again. I am such a die-hard fan of Pyranha games, even played Gothic 2 2 times recently but Elex 2 was in so many ways appaling to anyone who has an admiration for good story, good quests and an overall drive to take an interest in the protagonist and his journey, which I, speaking for myself, was very much missing in that game completely. For me it turned out to be a huge - and by you well ponted out "infinite" - farming simulator like some washed up Skyrim. Sure watching your character grow stronger over time was satisfying but as soon as it got to the late stages, it was just farming increasing numbers of generic enemies in a repetitive manner. Anyway... Thank you for putting out good content as always and looking forward to that review of Elex 2. Cheers :)
Great video, exactly what I needed after playing for a few hours. I love when someone shares their insights and experiences without any major spoilers. Really enjoyed the video and it was very useful.
Nice a new video, channel is still alive :D I am not really that interested in Elex as a game like at all, but still enjoy your videos a lot due to the great quality and depth of your analysis :)
Played Elex 1 a few times but it clicked just not long ago, finished it finally. Starting Elex 2, the combat is smoother, the animations are not as janky and the difficulty it's a bit lower.
Nobody told me that at one point Billy Idol shows up and sings a super sweet song! One of the strangest and most excellent moments I’ve ever had in gaming.
thank you so dang much. i tried playing elex 1 and just cant find myself to do it with how prone ive become to the new graphics and not so glitchy mechanice. on to elex 2!! again thank you!!
I watched another video, dedicated to best and worst skills to get, and they gave the exact opposite advice. After watching your video, I've now learned they had no idea what they were talking about, and by following their advice I was massively missing out.
I did the factionless run at my first playthrough. 😅 and yes, it was more difficult. I even lowered the difficulty at points and would not reccomend this build at anything higher than normal. luckily the game does not punish you for lower difficulty and you can still get all trophies and everything except faction locked stuff.
I really appreciate these kinds of spoiler free beginners guides. After playing Elex 1 I realised that, had I known certain things before, I think I might have enjoyed the game even better because it wouldn't have impacted my enjoyment of the exploration but greatly reduced my disappointment when I realised that I unknowingly locked myself out of a certain option for example. Good video.
I would love if you reviewed Enderal: The Shards of Order. When I played it I saw a lot of gameplay paralels to the gothic series but also a very engaging and mysterious story
i'm also one of those who does all the side stuff before advancing the story. . i'm 30 hours in, level 15 have tons of abilities unlocked and have walked over 50% of the map and still haven't even cleared out those morlocks for caja. . had no idea that was necessary to recruit her. also, knowing that i can join a faction and still do the other faction quests sounds like a good deal, hecause i'm still walking around with no magics or faction armors and yeah, it would be nice to have access to those earlier.
it took me until 10 hours in to discover the alternative camera mode. I am one who tends to get the motion sickness from low FOV and thought i could just soldier on through it and i was tolerating it, but yeah, the alternative is way better. except sometimes in combat, the camera center gets fixated weird and Jax will be all the way on the edge of the screen, but going into manual aim with a ranged weapon fixes it.
When are you going to release the in depth review for Elex 2? Also when I played the game, the backstab ability didn't work for 2 handed weapons regardless of whether they are alerted or not. Not sure if they fixed it now
Hi! Great video as always! I have a question that nobody discussed yet. Or maybe its a bug only I've encountered. Is there rain in Elex 2? I finished the game in 60-70 hour and I swear to you that I did not see one single rain drop. Is this a bug? Or intentional? :D
I really don't have much to say at all, because that trailer was basically just a graphics showcase, which while impressively accurate to the original (and with some solid enhancements to the atmosphere), isn't anything I was overly concerned about after playing the original Teaser from a couple years ago. It was pretty clear in that demo that the map and level design was going to stay pretty close to the original, since the path down the mountain was basically the same (except for the lighting) once you got past the new tutorial area, so I'm not surprised to see the old mine recreated so faithfully. And frankly, that's the easy part to pull off in a remaster/remake, because you're basically just tracing existing artwork and then embellishing it with extra detail. I'm much more concerned about things like the story/characters, gameplay/combat, immersion, atmosphere, player agency, difficulty, interface, and so on, which I would guess are much harder to get right than simply recreating the existing maps. And, of course, none of that is really portrayed in the new "Old Mine trailer", except maybe the atmosphere which SEEMS to be capturing the feel of that environment pretty well. I remain optimistic that they're going to do Gothic justice, considering they claim to have done a complete 180 on just about everything they presented in the Playable Teaser and there's been nothing shown to contradict that assertion, but at the same time this new trailer doesn't necessarily prove that point, either. So the jury is still out, in other words.
Makes sense to remain reserved. I've read the whole interview with Kai in which he confirms that Alkimia has started from scratch, ditching concepts from Playable garbo. Yes, it is still too early to discuss further. Ty, I hope we get more news by the end of the year. Cheers
on the DX12 version. i play the dx12 version. turned off all the graphics setting that can be turned off, like shadows and vsync and anisotropic filters . i have the textures on medium. and i'm playing on a laptop with a gtx 3060 and the game is running smooth at 60fps, hasn't crashed once in 30 hours. so they must have really improved the stability since launch. i haven't tried the dx11 version. i assumed the dx12 was the "intended" way to play as the launcher refers to that one as just "elex 2", while the other one is "elex 2 dx11"

Why NOT to join a faction early :Trophies, if this is like Elex 1 you need to do high level stuff in each faction to get the trophy. I dont trophy hunt every game I play but ones I like such as Elex I go for the platinum
You say that you need no cigarettes. There is a small little dialog where you need 1 cigarette. There are 2 guys who are visiting all the main factions camps. If you talk to them the first time, he asks you for a cigarette. Just saying :D Good video, bad game.

21:25 - in my playthrough I didn't learn pickpocketing, as I never complained on a lack of money. As I can see in your video, it's completely unbalanced and it destroys the fun of being broke and struggling with acquiring anything at the early stage of the game. It's another sign, that they didn't even bother on balancing that - and the fact, that collecting trophies gives you absolutely nothing compared to stealing npc's weapons is straight-up indication that piranha's don't reflect on their systems, they simply put something into the game without thought of consideration that it would break the balance completely or be absolutely useless. Sad. 5 years and we get reused monster models, with reused animations, plot that - to say it gently, is not very ambitious, and quests that boil down to kill 10 skyands (almost every companion quest is teleportation --> kill something). I loved Elex 1, and I don't know what happened, but such level of lazy game design is very offputting.
27:50 - lol, I didn't know that the game is so unpolished. The amount of skills we get is so minimum per faction, and in addition, some of them are unfinished. How is it possible after such a long period of development? I joined the Morkons and most of their skills are passive - so they don't require a special effort to be implemented into the game. Again, a lazy approach in designing a sequel.

I really want to look this video, but I'm so tired of these new games that lead me of every step or of tons of information in info space. There was something cool back in days when you start the game with no knowledge what you should do or what you shouldn't. Hell, my first experience with Gothic 1 was in the club, when I spent first hour of the game trying to open first chest near collapsed mine. And I was so exited about this game, that I went to market as soon as I could and got the disk with this game. I assume I'll watch this later. But thanks for your content anyway!
Hello. I maybe retarded, but ... how to bind special abilities at action bar? I mean im berserker and i wanna use fireball. I cant cuz when im in abilitie tree i dont know how to bind it.( Im PC player)
I believe spells are equipped from the inventory screen. There should be a new section down the list for spells once you learn some. From there you can press Space to assign them to the action bar.
So much of this video focuses on the jetpack. It shouldn't. The jetpack not only is not a priority, the only skill you should invest in it for most of the game is the initial additional tank so you can keep adding fuel, then later on the "sprint boosters" so you can get easy access to some hard to reach hidden items (not mandatory). That's it. You don't need to use it in combat at all unless you REALLY enjoy it from a role-playing perspective or you are really bad at parrying/dodging/blocking. This game, unlike the first one, has placed most everything within easy reach of even the basic pack, no need to literally waste your skill points in it. On the "trophies" skill I will completely agree with you. It is a complete waste of points in this game, with stealing and upgrading weapons being vastly superior.
i have around 180+- hours on the game, and i can say with certainty that i would give pretty much same advices. Good work!
It's always great to see a new video by one of the best in-depth reviewers on UA-cam!
Wow, this video was EXACTLY what I was hoping to find to avoid making dumb mistakes early on. Doesn't ruin the story at all and is proving to be insanely helpful for me to make the early decisions that matter. Thank you!!

The most important advice is to explore and learn how to control jet pack.
There was actually some stuff I didn't even realise in my first playthrough but I cannot wait for an indepth review and learn another perspective, since I couldn't be bothered to play that game again. Just bought this game on sale, great video ❤
Thank you for this guide! I wanted to rejoin Clerics, but wasn't sure if I miss out on too much content from the Albs faction this way!
Thank you for the guide! I think it is an interesting game so I will start another playthrough soon...
Great video, exactly what I needed after playing for a few hours. I love when someone shares their insights and experiences without any major spoilers. Really enjoyed the video and it was very useful.

Elex 1 was good but Elec 2 is the bomb! 👏🏻👏🏻
Nobody told me that at one point Billy Idol shows up and sings a super sweet song! One of the strangest and most excellent moments I’ve ever had in gaming.

Always a pleasure to watch your videos, even though I already finished Elex 2!
I tried Elex 1, but couldn't get into it. Elex 2 feels like a much better experience.
1:57 Tip: „Fart while using the Jetpack to gain extra hight.“
Got this game today on sale after playing the first one thx for the vdeo
Hope everything's ok...
We miss you! Good luck with everything.
I watched another video, dedicated to best and worst skills to get, and they gave the exact opposite advice. After watching your video, I've now learned they had no idea what they were talking about, and by following their advice I was massively missing out.

Yeah, nice advices, explains most needed things when you start game, even you played first game or not, previously.
Started playing elex 2 and the first 5 mins of this is telling me I should really play elex 1 first 😅
I got a notification about this video whilst watching your 3 vieos in a row ending with Things I miss from elex. Great video :) PLease keep'em coming
Great informative video, just started playing and really enjoying the game bugs too
Awesome! This will be very helpful! You always put so much detail into your guides!
Awesome! I really enjoy watching your videos.
Keep up the good work! Respect
30:47 There is a point to the "+10 AP"
It helped me zip thru 1-60 cunning.
Bloody good review, no bolllocks

It seems like never
goat youtuber tbh. its baffling how you dont already have 100k subs
Hi! Great video as always!
I have a question that nobody discussed yet. Or maybe its a bug only I've encountered.
Is there rain in Elex 2? I finished the game in 60-70 hour and I swear to you that I did not see one single rain drop.
Is this a bug? Or intentional? :D
When are coming back friend? We need the risen 3 review
Fantastic preparation video!
so about joining factions it is not like in elex I where you had to pay attention to quests. Good to know!
Amazing content thanks for putting this together
Finally, new vid 😀
Vidéo parfaitement parfaite, tu donnes de bon conseils.
Thank you so much for this video. It is helping me a lot!
Reaction to new Gothic trailer soon, I hope?

I wish the modding scene was a bit more prolific :(
I’m a newb when it comes being disappointed by PB (I’ve only played Elex) but that list of skills that straight up don’t work is mind boggling to me.
So when's the Elex 2 review happening?
I hope this guy is alive. Not heard from him for 7 months :(
Thanks for sharing this
Hey hope all's well with you. Not heard from you for half a year
on the DX12 version.
i play the dx12 version. turned off all the graphics setting that can be turned off, like shadows and vsync and anisotropic filters .
i have the textures on medium.
and i'm playing on a laptop with a gtx 3060 and the game is running smooth at 60fps, hasn't crashed once in 30 hours.
so they must have really improved the stability since launch.
i haven't tried the dx11 version. i assumed the dx12 was the "intended" way to play as the launcher refers to that one as just "elex 2", while the other one is "elex 2 dx11"
Friendly reminder to do Archolos full review
They should pay you for this kind of feedback.
I hope pyranha bytes go back to the medieval fantasy theme, I really dont like the futuristic look of Elex
Best gane ever made.
any tips of crashes? or frezzes? The game has thus far only frozen once (choose D11) then switch to normal then it crashed 1x Now I dont know what to do? (Hours and days between these btw)
Hello . What Armor set you heve ?
I am at Bastion. Can you fill me in where to get melee, projectile & armor trainers?
Why NOT to join a faction early
:Trophies, if this is like Elex 1 you need to do high level stuff in each faction to get the trophy.
Just saying :D
Good video, bad game.
I liked the Morkons' skills and play style. It's just a shame that they didn't put the same effort into the magic system. Magic feels boring, bland and OP.
Are you sure enemies all respawn? I've walked trough areas I've cleared several times and they are still dead.
They probably don't respawn ALL enemies in ALL locations -- some areas may stay cleared -- but most general areas in the open world and even a few more specific locations will periodically respawn new, randomized enemies. I'm not sure if it's every so many days and/or at the start of every chapter.
attributes have verry little impact on damage
YAY I JUST FOUND THIS GAME AND ITS FUN TO PLAY!!!!
Solution to combat. GRENADES
This video should just be three seconds long and only consist of the word "don't" :'D
jokes aside, thank you for the guide.
I personally already felt disappointed by Elex and after looking at trailers and let's plays for Elex 2 i decided to not bother with PB games anymore.
Should have probably quit after Gothic 3, but old loves die hard.
However, if anyone out there genuinely enjoys Elex 2, more power to you, have your fun with it.
I just put elex 1 down after putting 25 hours into it.... I just could not handle the amount of jank and bugs and terrible UI in that game. I wanted to like it and did to an extent but it is very hard and extremely grindy. I am 25 hours in and still can only use a rusty axe and have hunter armor. I decided to move onto elex 2 and got like ten minutes in before I decided I liked it so much better just based on the organization of the UI and equipment alone. But seeing your first suggestion in this vid is making me reconsider sticking out the first one. =/ idk that is a huge commitment and a lot of hours. I am going to check out your beginner and tips guide for elex one and maybe that will help me with the game, even if I need to restart it. Cuz rn it is just a slog to me and the combat is god awful all I can do is melee and I want to use one of the guns I have hahah. ugh.
Do not use DX12. It simply does not work at all.
This game is only fun until you get built up basically join a faction just explore
good job kid
I really want to look this video, but I'm so tired of these new games that lead me of every step or of tons of information in info space. There was something cool back in days when you start the game with no knowledge what you should do or what you shouldn't. Hell, my first experience with Gothic 1 was in the club, when I spent first hour of the game trying to open first chest near collapsed mine. And I was so exited about this game, that I went to market as soon as I could and got the disk with this game. I assume I'll watch this later. But thanks for your content anyway!
All games are like that. Engagement with content is your choice
Check your damned email! Disregard the comment if you're just ignoring me :)
Oh no... I wanna like the video but if I do it'll go from 665 to the forbidden number so like... 😂😅
From there you can press Space to assign them to the action bar.
the anachronism of this game's setting really bothers me.
I wish this game had an "iron-man" mode where you have to complete the game with a single life :)
i hate games that infect the character and nag you thruout the game... its my biggest complaint of cyberpunk
Are you serious? Aren’t you going to do a review for the game ?
I'm still working on the review so it's going to be a while more before it's ready to publish.
unpopular opinion, elex II is pb worst game
@Chandima Bandara true true
So much of this video focuses on the jetpack. It shouldn't.
