Hi their! If this is your first with the ZZ, everything above the soil will die off (do not cut it off) to feed the rhizome for the new plant. When it is at it worst, brown and shriveled, cut it off. Keep the soil moist and give it light. Eventually the new sprout will appear. Yes this is a long process. I have watched several videos and that part is always omitted. Good luck!

Thanks so much for the helpful advice Plant fam!
I’ll be sure to apply it the best I can. Also I cut away those brown leaves, to support more growth and keep it in healthy soil 🙏🪴🌿

I'm new here & new-ish to growing. Especially in soil. I love your vibe & energy. It hits right. Thanks for the link and for some of the tips. For one thing, I wouldn't have thought about some of the roots not liking the sun on them, so I'll make sure to look for plasitic or ceramic pots to put the clear ones in.
I'm like you. I LOVE to see those new roots pushing through. It's become addictive. I also have a few ZZ plants & leaves that need to be transferred to a mix. Im waiting to get the Raven ZZ though. Someday.
I'm glad you're on UA-cam. Thanks for putting yourself out there. #PropagationNation

Thank you so much for your support and inspiration Crumbekina! 🙌❤️🪴🌿
      I’m grateful that you’ve joined thee #propagationnation !!🙌🌿🚰😄
I try and find all plants that will easily prop in water to enjoy the root development on display as it grows.
The Raven ZZ is one I think you will really like once you get it, I have propagated it three to four times from the mother plant, simply by taking leaves and putting them in water.
I look forward to seeing your collection as it grows, and let’s keep growing together 🙏🌿❤️

I just ordered some clear pots and it will be a task to re pot everything. Yes the ZZ plant is slow to propagate it took a whole year for the leaf I took from the plant store ( the plant was so big and beautiful I had to get a leaf from it lol) to finally take off in growth now its a beautiful plant of its own.

Hi Steven. Where did you buy them. All the clear pots I find are flimsy & crappy. The ones in the video are pretty nice. Maybe you found nice ones. Thanks, Dave

    The clear pots are great!
I use rainwater for my props…No chlorine or chloramine.

Now that’s a great idea for getting the best quality water!
I’ll have to try that for sure with natural rain water 💧
Thanks so much for sharing plant fam 🙌🙌🌿🪴
