As an amateur, I also believe your not sure what your doing but keep doing it! Brilliant video as always, loved the opening shot, as a pro you’d also be telling me to use squarespace… 😂
Haha, you’re so funny 😉 I love amateurs shooting for fun, that’s the spirit! Thanks for taking us with you and sharing your skills 🙏😊 Professionals always want something: selling their books, workshops, gear, sponsors, bla bla bla… 🤑
Amateur is not a word to describe you or your photography, but another word beginning with A does: and that is Artist. So interesting to see Blencathra, as it is not a fell I have climbed, but wish now that I had. Those days long gone, sadly. Always enjoy your outings in the Lake District as they bring back happy memories.
I wondered where we going with the A association there…😳 Many Thanks Lizzie, very kind👍 It’s a brilliant mountain and with so many various levels of ascent, very appealing. No doubt I will return and gladly share my experiences. Take care for now
This made me chuckle, I really enjoy your channel as a refuge from the 'shoot like this to be a pro' brigade of UA-camrs - the superficial clickbait wears very thin, so someone doing something authentic and humorous with it is very welcome! Possibly my favourite selection of images from one of your videos too, love the mood in them! :)
Some cracking images there Mr Burns. My favourite way up is Halls Fall , but I love the very professional images from Mungrisdale, where I cant say I have been before..
Brilliant intro and message. Lovely set of photos, particularly the B&W. Many of these so-called "Pros" are doing exactly what you're doing, I don't know if viewers understand this. They're making these videos and getting ad revenue from them. Except they're making more ad revenue than you are currently, so they don't need a full-time job, which in turn means they can state they are a "pro" channel. It's a lot of old bollocks, if you ask me. Many of them could learn a thing or two from watching your videos James. 👍
Not bad at all for an Amateur. It's been a few years since I last went along sharp edge, it must be polished to hell these days. It was fun but to short and I reckon you would have to book a place on striding edge these days. Keep shooting.
Nice shots u got there sir..sorry to ask is this in the uk? amateur vs pro is the debate that will be going on for centuries. But as a beginner and hobbyist i love all forms of the art...any more urban landscape photowalks coming up?cheers mate and happy Easter
Many Thanks. Yes, this is in the Lake District. I’ll shooting some urban landscapes very shortly as I have missed them. It’s been too long. Happy Easter to you too👍👍
Amateur doesn't mean beginner or inexperienced. The root of the word comes from the Latin 'amorem'. It literally means you do something for the love of it. Always be an amateur.
@@JamesRBurnsVLOG I think we're on the same page with it. Amateur and pro are just labels, and don't really have a base in skill levels. For example, I prefer your black and white work over many of the photographers that are screaming about how 'pro' they are.
Absolutely and thanks Chris. It’s just that the label of a pro is greatly believed to be someone who has a better skill than an amateur, hence the use of it. Far from the truth however
Amateur vs pro ... better experienced vs noob - Lesson 1 look out for hazards, eg bogs! Looks like you had a nice day for it. But you're no amateur - too much complaining about things not being right. And, oh yes, some lovely pics at the end. Could put a pro to shame
Beautiful ❤✌️🙏👊🙏✌️❤️ Respect to you James, i was a “pro - paid “ Photographer for over 20 years before having to look after my mother and now Iam just an amateur as well….lam sure my photography has suffered since becoming a full time career after being a full time working photographer as I’ve dropped down the ranks. U ⭐️ keep doing what your doing please as it’s honest NOT desperate… honest respect to you 🫣
As an amateur, I also believe your not sure what your doing but keep doing it! Brilliant video as always, loved the opening shot, as a pro you’d also be telling me to use squarespace… 😂
Thank you Mali. True words. It just comes instinctive and care free and therefore… enjoyable. I nearly considered Squarespace to be honest 😳
Haha, you’re so funny 😉 I love amateurs shooting for fun, that’s the spirit! Thanks for taking us with you and sharing your skills 🙏😊

Thanks very much 😬👍👍
Those shots are soooo amateurish.... not! Ive learnt so much from you. Your use of light is a thing of beauty. Great video as always!
Thank you very much Malcolm 👍

Thanks Simon. My charms, charisma and skills are all available for hire. Wait….. that would then make me a pro!😳
@@JamesRBurnsVLOG Yes it would, and then you can do "Pro Tips" videos! 😁
…a true gentleman amateur!
This is true. Thanks Dave

Cheers Iain. Yes it does short and no doubt has that marble effect. Definitely not something wise to do on a wet day
I'll be in the Lake District on the 22nd of May. Sadly only for one day. Maybe I can do one fell.
Today then! It’s a rainy one

Nice work James. I had no idea you were just an amateur.
Thank you Michael. I know… it often comes as a surprise for me too
Michael? Full Sunday name on a Monday! Careful, your professionalism is showing 😂@@JamesRBurnsVLOG
Heck, I don't need a video to tell me how to shoot like an amateur, but better watch it just in case
Just for those who may need assistance 😬 Cheers Andy
