Mornin Mark and Merry Christmas. Nicely done video. Definitely all must items to bring when out hunting, especially water. Lots of water!! I like the foundation in the background. Great touch!!
Hi, there are generally two types of detectors. Those that are suited to coins, jewelry, and relics (parks, fields, around old buildings, beach, etc) , and those that are better suited to hunting gold nuggets which require more sensitivity in the mineralized ground of the goldfields. There are some detectors that try to do both, but usually are a bit less capable for gold nuggets. So decide which style of detecting best suits you or if you want to do a mix. I'd recommend searching for the Detector Prospector forum and ask there. You are bound to get expert advice. Good luck.
Today's metal detectors are very capable and the units with advanced features are even affordable due to competitive pricing among manufacturers. If budget is a concern that may change my recommendation. If your brand new to the hobby and not even sure if your going to like it, I would recommend a Minelab X-Terra Pro and if you decide you like the hobby, and budget is not a factor, I would recommend the Minelab Manticore due to its light weight, ease of use with the best menu structure of any machine made so far. Also a top tier machine with park, field, beach and even goldfield modes. Feel free to email me with any other questions you may have (email in description). Thank you for the view and comment / question!
Modern emergency medicine does not recommend using snake bite kits anymore at all. Today's treatment in the field is only to: Move away from the area of the bite. Remove anything tight from the bitten area. Immobilize the bitten limb. Transport the victim to a health facility as soon as possible. Apply pressure to the bite site with a pressure pad. So because I am a medical professional I can only recommend current standards of practice. In the Emergency Room they will consider administering antivenom in an IV. Thank you for the view and comment!
@@BrassMedic Thanks for the feedback, though I have concern as I'm in Australia where one could be 100's of Km from any nearby health facility to get there in time. Sometime as well I might be in the hills where there is long grass where we find brown snakes etc slithering out which presents a problem if bitten and on your own. I guess the golden rule is to have a second person with you when metal detecting but not always possible. Just trying to cover all contingencies.
@mikebloodworth9258 I totally get it. You have all the worst venomous snakes and so far from help or rescue. They tested the lance and suction style snake bite kits and found them to be useless in any effective treatment. The definitive treatment is always going to be anti-venom as soon as possible no matter where you are on the planet with a venomous snake bite.
Having hunting buddies is the best tip! I have 4 active/5 in my group, and it makes it so much more enjoyable. Merry Christmas Mark
For sure, so much more fun on adventures with buddies! Or in my case with my girlfriend who loves detecting! Thank you for your view and comment!

What metal detector do you recommend for beginner senior citizen.

Any problem if we have it linked off of our mettal detecting club website? It is a GREAT beginner’s answer-all-they-re-questions video.
Of course not. That would be fantastic!! Thank you for the view and comment!
Great video but I think the first-aid kit should include a snake bite kit if out in the bush.
