  • Welcome back guys,
Have just finished a month of riding the new Armstrong foils alloy system masts and fuselage. I rode the 72cm and 85cm masts along with the 65cm fuselage. I am fan of the Carbon performance masts but was super impressed with how Armstrong have translated the quality AF ride with the 6061 and 7075 aircraft grade aluminum. So who is the Alloy system best suited for? Is it worth having?

Check out the video and see the alloy kit in action prone foiling, tow foiling and wing foiling.

I’m loving the alloy setup. I’m using it for downwind sup foiling and find it to be nice and stable when down on the board or when paddling up. Awesome product🙌🏼

Interesting to see you prone on the FG. I’ve thought of doing that.
But now that the ML exists, I’m assuming that’s a better choice?

Rather than a better choice, its adiffernt choice, they all have merits in use. The FG is 4'4" x 18", its a prone size shape with volume, so easy paddler and less swing weight, a good choice for a one board traveller where focus is high wind winging, and optional prone. ML is the same, but light wind winging and optional prone.

    Hi again Olly.
Quick question. I went with the 75fuse. I know you are very knowledgeable into mast placement with shims etc. all good
My question. 75 vs 60 fuse.
Ha780 speed 180. No shims. What’s the mast position adjustment going from 60 to 75???

I think of Fuselage length as being resonant with stance width. The Fuselage length is the wavelength of the "Pitch" experience. If youre a tall guy then longer fuselage, note how they are similar to the width of a snowboard stance. Your control of the "Up and down" movements of the foil are best done with a comfortable stance width of your legs. Thats the datum idea, the start, you can also use longer if youre going faster, or use shorter if in shallow areas for quick climbing and error corrections. If youre under 6 foot in height, go 65cm, if youre over 6'4" in height go 75cm. If youre a novice, go 75cm, if youre foiling already, go 65cm. Choose for your size, ability and prevailing local conditions.

      @@ollybrunton1961 roger all that.
Well I’ve tested myself re mast placement, and found that I was able to move the mast significantly backwards. So going from 60 to a 75fuse, there was the exact same front foot pressure after the mast put way back. Really interesting 🤨
