  • NEW Armstrong HA Foils......BETTER in Every way !
    Armstrong has done it again by bringing to market a New Foil that exceeds our expectations in Every way. Here are a few reasons why we are Jazzed on this NEW HA Foil.
    1. Better pitch stability across the range, which leads to a more predictable foiling experience in higher wind speeds.
    2. The HA foil rips tighter turns and has a more surf feel in comparison to the previous version.
    3. These HA foils can maintain a slower cruising speed without stalling out which super beneficial in lighter winds.
    4. Because these new HA foils are overall more efficient, we're able to downsize foil size which leads to more fun riding smaller foils.

    What mast .....is the performance mast a must have for these HAs and also which fuse works best?

      Hello Clive. I think if you are over 165lbs or using wings wider than the HA880 you will benefit from the stiffer Performance Masts. The 60cm Fuse is the length we have been using for winging. - DJ

    Whats a good size recommendation for a 120# person? riding a CF800 presently.

      The HA580 would probably be the most comparable in terms of lift and low end. A lot has changed in foil tech since the CF800 - you will be amazed!

    So if we are to believe the sales hype, Armstrong has fattened their chord at the cost of speed. Axis did this, moving from their ART series to their Spitfires. Many manufacturers are pulling back on ultimate speed to deliver more fun.

      It's all about fun with speed, I agree with you brands are making the foiling experience better by making these foils more fun to ride. This new HA is much easier to use in comparison to the older model. Thanks for watching the review, have a great day.

    For the equivalent size (so two sizes down, like 580=725, 780=925), which will have the highest top end? I keep hearing that the old HA's have better speed range, but given that you're supposed to size down quite a bit, aren't the two size smaller foils faster than their equivalent?

      We haven't done any back-to-back measured speed testing, but having ridden the 780 and 925 extensively I'd say the top ends are similar on those two foils. We'll try and get some data and get back to you, but from a wave-riding perspective the new foils are the clear winner! Thanks for watching

      @@KitePaddleSurf in what way are they better for wave riding? turning bc you have a smaller span for the equivalent size? (two down) or increased pitch stability?

    • @KitePaddleSurf
      @KitePaddleSurf  2 місяці тому

      @@greg.ocallaghan Both, as well as much lower stall speed, easy breach recovery and better pumping

      @@KitePaddleSurf sounds like I need to demo! I know a lot of people are loving the new HA's because they found the old HA's too difficult to ride, but I put in a lot of time on those foils, especially the 725 (I'm 85kg's, so it's a small foil for me) and got really used to it. So I'm really curious about what the new HA's will give me, given that I did not find the old HA's difficult.
