Been searching for this rechnique for years. Finaly here! that Chris. Wonderful tutorials.
Great tutorial. For those that have access to Adobe Photoshop, you can do some pre-work to separate your subject from the background and make the Resolve effects a bit easier to work with. Use a subject select to automatically select out the subject and put it on a separate layer, then use the same selection with Content Aware Fill to remove the subject from the photo and fill it in with elements similar to the rest of the image. Export both as two different images and bring them into two different video layers in Resolve. With that method you wont have to worry quite as much about the blending between the two layers.
That said, doing that effect solely in Resolve worked really well for this image.
Thanks for the tutorial! I love how powerful resolve is.
Thank you Chris, you are splendid at this!
Fantastic video! Keep up the great work!
Thanks Chris. I often use stills in my videos and use dynamic zoom but this will let me take it to another level.
This is so very cool. I saved the video in case I ever need to know how to do this.
Awesome tutorial. Thanks Chris!
Didn't know that PewDiePie made davinci resolve tutorials!
Nice liked it
Outstanding tutorial...the instructions were clear & precise. I wish I could give this video more than 1 like. Awesome, man!!! I just wish you uploaded this video a week ago.
Thanks a lot, I need to be more familiar with color page
good job
Awesome , thank you!
I realize I am pretty off topic but does anybody know of a good place to watch new movies online?
@Hamza Tristen try flixzone. You can find it by googling =)
First like and comment. Awesome video.
I may want to try this vertically...let's say for Instagram reels.
Great effect! You could make the background b&w. That could look cool!
interesting video
Люблю такие видео, английский я не знаю, но что ты делаешь в этом видео понятно и без слов.
I just cancelled my lightroom subscription, and will be editing all my future photos with Resolve!
But seriously, thanks a lot! Really good tutorial :)
Can you?
Thank you Chris for this tutorial! If I embed a large image, eg 5000x5000px in Resolve, the image is automatically resized. Can this automatic resize be disabled? I would also like to see what is visible in the output video and what is not...
Great video! AND now the challenge: How can I leverage shooting 4K 29.97 in one camera (sometimes 2 cameras), another only capable of 1080p also 29.97 and build on a 1080P 29.97 Multicam Timeline? If you need to break it into 4K edited down to 1080P benefits, and perhaps build upon that? Oh, and *sometimes* your enthusiasm speeds up your tutorials to pretty quick speed and sometimes you are making a declaratory statement but your voice goes up in as if you were asking a question.
Good video to explain the stuff in Resolve to animate - but traditionally this kind of process is a lot easier and effective if you do the background removal in a graphics program and then bring it back in with transparencies in place - you can even use tools like inpainting brush to gain more room on the background layer to animate. This is used quite a bit to bring historic photos to a 3d look -
Fusion inside Resolve has paint tools that will enable you to clone the background over the bottom layer object you want to hide. No need to go outside of Resolve.
Hi Chris, can we create a similar 3d background to look like Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj scenario? use video and images with curves, i will stay in the right side and i wanna have videos and images in the left but curve and not straight like the tonight show.
The only rhing you did with the light rays is making the sky looking blown out.
I just digitally transferred 16mm footage and loaded it onto DaVinci as jpegs, but I can’t export it as QuickTime video-it just exports as a bunch of jpeg files??? Can you advise???
how to do this for videos?
can you mak3 cole Bnett tutorials
What exactly is the use of this effect?
I´m wondering if it is not easier if we just remove her from the back track with photoshop...
Yes, would also give more options.
But it's a Davinci Resolve tutorial you know?
Bruh what the hell is this sound at 0:33 it's Halloween today and i almost peed myself! gosh LUL
