Thank you, I knew how to do so much in premiere pro and i've been slowly relearning in divinci. I didn't want to use the fusion tab for everything and this was the perfect tutorial for the masking and keyframing in the color tab! :)

I've been teaching myself more and more Resolve as Covid-19 continues and your videos so far have been awesome. I wanted to ask you is Fusion vs Color tabs about preference, specific things, or a mix of when it's the right tool for the job? I was using the color tab at first a lot, now Fusion and I just am wondering if it's good to focus on one vs the other or if I should learn both near equally.

But I really like these quick tutorial. I'd like to know more about masking when color grading.
Here in Norway very much is closed down, from public buildings, schools, librarys and more. Plus that people are encouraged to work from home and keep their distance from others. The sad thing is that this has a bad impact on small business owners too. I guess it's the same almost all over the world now. Not good! Regarding the virus itself I'm doing okay though! Stay healthy, you all! 🙂

Question: Instead of masking the sky and closing the mask from outside, can we surround the portrait so we don't need to invert, leaving the sky unmasked? Literally just found Davinci a couple days ago and you helped me a lot. Like a LOT!

Thanks for the helpful vid. I’ve always wondered whether there is some kind of smart object selection tool in DVR. It seems difficult to cleanly outline an object manually. Surely an image analyzer could work out how to grab the right pixels after some initial guidance. Am I missing a trick?

Hey, great tutorial! I'm currently moving over from nuke and I've been desperately trying to figure out if da vinci resolve has a feather mask pull out from a mask simular to what nuke and after effects have. I can see that it has the basic feather toggel for the entire mask but Im after a software where I can feather just parts of my mask using a second feather mask :)

Hey, question! Do you think Resolve can do everything that AE & Premiere can do? If I were to give up After Effects forever, do you think Fusion could do everything that AE would be capable of?

Hey man, totally! I started on premiere and after effects and after a few years of their non sense I switched and never went back bro! There is a learning curve, but it's worth it man! I'm a better editor when my software actually works

Haha thanks Ian :) thought people would like them. Yes, you can but its a little more tedious. If your computer cant handle the color tab it probably wont be able to handle the fusion tab. maybe im wrong though :)
Ironically fusion works OK 99% of the time. And yes, I'm sure, like tracking, fusion can be a bit more involved
