    Hello, I run a business and have up to 30-40 phones on a 2.4ghz network in a close proximity. What is the best option to keep a decent speed and lower or eliminate the disconnects?

    Which would be best to extend my WiFi to our metal shop outside. I would say about 1/8 of a mile away.

    Im busy building a new house and want to have a nice network setup. I will need
    the gear probably around december. The question i have is i am looking for 4 accespoints.
    3 x Acces Point WiFi 6 Long-Range
    To cover each floor
    But i dont know which one to use for the garden? Weather proof.
    I am guessing for the Acces Point FlexHD. But which one would you
    recommend ?

      You are spot on with your choice. The Flex HD will be best one for you to use outdoor. I will be installing one later this year outdoor and that is the one i will use.
      Good luck with your install. Let us know how you get on.

    Nice comparison good job.... but one question FLEX HD or NANO HD ? any suggestion?

    • @InsideWire
      @InsideWire  3 роки тому

      They are both pretty much the same access point. Just depends how you want to mount it. That being said if you go with the NANO HD, you might want to look at the WiFi 6 ones to future proof your installation.

    Super, a comprehensive comparison but I want know max signal range of U6-LR.

    Have an NanoHD AP connected to a Dream Machine Pro with a 1Gb Internet link.
    Max throughput ever has been at 440 Mbps Download and about 50ish Upload (max 50 by ISP) using an iPhone 8+ at 6 feet distance from the AP.
    The nanoHD kept dropping off the network so I increased the WTH from 40 to 80 and now it is much more stable but still have about a 6.5% loss in the 5 Ghz range and none in the 2.4 Ghz band.

      Have you got anything that could be interfering with your 5GHz range? There are a few more varying factors with your speed too the device etc.

    Hey there great video very informative! I've got a quick question, I currently have a USG Pro 4 with 9 UAP - AC - LR first gen (Wifi 5 model). Will the U6 LR work with my USG Pro 4? If you would be able to get back to me as soon as possible that would be great! Thanks :)
    Ps: We will be running these AP's via the Switch 16 PoE 150w

    • @InsideWire
      @InsideWire  2 роки тому

      Yes it will, as long as your network controller is up to date.

    can you use U6-LR with normal rotuter and PoE injector in between? thanks

      I believe you can set up access points to be used standalone, however I dont have a video on this yet.

    Are the latest gen models all backwards compatible with older client devices? And which ones are suitable to a small-ish business of around 50 employees on a single floor, around 558 m2 (25,8m x 21,66m)?
    Thanks!

    • @InsideWire
      @InsideWire  2 роки тому +1

      All devices send out a signal on 2.4ghz as well as 5ghz. Will all 50 employees be connecting to the wifi? Currently for wifi 6 you only have Lite version or the Long range version. So I would probably suggest long range at this point.

      @@InsideWire Thanks, in this scenario most of them should be and there should be one for each band+a guest network (it's a basic school assignment).

    Would you get the FLEXHD or the UAP-AC-M-PRO for outdoor use 200+ users? Thanks

    • @InsideWire
      @InsideWire  3 роки тому

      It seems they are both would be able to do the job, however you need to be careful as these APs may not be able to handle that many clients due to a few factors such as traffic, device type and network config.

    If I purchase an older AP and connect it to my dream machine, does the whole wifi system drop to the slowest speed capable on an old AP or will the faster speeds of the dream machine still work in that area of the house where?

    • @InsideWire
      @InsideWire  2 роки тому +1

      You would get the speeds of the access point you are connected to. The whole system does not drop

    Sorry, I know this is an old post. But I am building a new house that should be done next month. I bought a WiFi 6 LR. I also have a NANO HD from the old house. Do I have any reason to switch that out for a WIFI 6 lite? I don't think I do, but thought I'd get your opinion.

    • @InsideWire
      @InsideWire  2 роки тому +1

      If your NanoHD is doing the job then theres no reason to switch it out. You will most likely get a better signal from your NanoHD than the U6 Lite.

      Yea you can set them up stand alone. they connect via ethernet but you will need a poe injector.

    Wifi 6 with 2400Mbps with single 1Gb port.. how is this possible.
    Unlike wifi AC-HD with 2 Lan port, you can do Link Aggregation, which I did on mine, it make more sense.
    I could be wrong here but I'm trying to understand how it work in reality

    • @InsideWire
      @InsideWire  3 роки тому +1

      There are some switches that are "WiFi 6" ready and have a 2.5GB ethernet port which i believe they are coming. I dont have a WiFi 6 access point yet to see if you can make use of link aggregation.

    Hola, saludos desde Chile. Soy nuevo como usuario Ubiquiti, compre mi primer equipo UniFi Ubiquiti Switch Networks US-48-500W el cual en la actualidad tengo todo cableado con cables Cat6e como las camaras Poe y computadores, impresoras, tvs, etc, en general todo lo cableado esta funcionando sin problemas con mi equipo existente, aparte ayer decidí comprar un Router modelo reciente de Ubiquiti UniFi Dream Machine modelo con pantalla el cual me deberia llegar a mi Pais de Chile y posterior a mi localidad como en 20 dias más ya que dicho router en mi País no existen a al venta y tuve que importarlo desde EEUU. ¿Mi duda es saber que access point puedo comprar el cual sea wifi 6 y sea alimentado por Poe desde el Router o desde el Switch que compre sin necesidad de ocupar un alimentador electrico Poe adicional y sea energizado por el nuevo router Dream Machine que tiene 2 puertos Poe o por el Switch US-48-500W? y asi poder tener una red Mesh unificada la cual pueda tener bien organizada con una red principal que tenga acceso a la red completa y se puedan ver los equipos y entorno de red completo y una red invitado el cual solo tenga acceso a intenet sin acceso al entorno de red en general.
    ¿Algun manual o video demostrativo que me puedan compartir por favor?.
