We love seeing your family eat supper together. I taught Christian school 7-11th graders (back in the day...82-87) and I asked them how many meals their family ate together in a week...the average answer was 3. That is sad because every meal is an opportunity to relax and talk...for parents to shape their children's world views, to teach values, to watch your children grow and change...to learn their personalities...so many other things! Keep it up! You are making a difference.
I watch a lot of this type of content, I also live the life. I watch this channel because the wife's smile and voice is so happy all the time. What a great family!
Your channel has helped me understand how to dream big and accomplish those dreams one little task at a time. And to be present, present in nature, with eachother, with family, everything. Thank you guys for sharing your journey! Can't wait to see a mature herb garden
It is a blessing to have room for projects and areas. Your herb garden is going to be so special. Lovely to see everyone working on Meg’s herb garden. 💕💕🌻🌻
❤ So sappy of me because I know you both have your own jobs/interests but it is so sweet when I see you do things together. I can tell how much you appreciate each others skills whether working together or apart, and sharing the bounty.
I love to watch you two together. Not only are your kiddos so helpful, but you work together so well. The chemistry between you two is palpable and it's easy to see how much you adore, respect and love each other. The best gift we can give our children is to teach them how to treat their spouse (and kids) and how they in turn should expect to be treated. You kiddos are well on their way to living a happy, healthy life. Now, someone please tell me which of the two older boys has the short haircut and whose is longer! I just like to be able to know who is who and now that there is a difference that is immediately obvious, I feel like I could know who everyone is! I love the name and concept of the "Farm Where You Live" get together. It screams that no matter whether you live on a huge farm, an acreage or are in a house or an apartment in the city, we can all add a bit of homegrown nutrition to our lives. I definitely live in a city (smallish) and am disabled from a spine/cord injury, so it's hard for me to deal with a huge garden, but I have my little garden (12'x5') and some planters that I enjoy. I'm excited to watch Meg's garden develop! Thanks for sharing, Ben & Meg. As always, your videos are among my favorites. Top 5 favorite channels for sure. I don't think I've missed an episode since I found you guys years ago! Wishing you (and everyone who reads this) continued blessings. Like my grandparents would say, 'I've never met anyone who can count them all (their blessings)'. Heather🇨🇦
You're channel is so relaxing. If I'm stressed or sick, I watch it and feel warmth and love. Thanks for sharing your lives. God's love shines through your channel.
I am very excited for your herb garden Meg. It will be so pretty and convenient right by the house. I admire all of the work that the whole family has put into the property to make it functional and beautiful!
Your little girl is so beautiful and l cannot get over how the elders have grown so tall. .... What a beautiful family you have. This time in your life is the best enjoyed, before you know, it is over so quick.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
The new herb garden is exciting. I can't wait to see the beds go in. Your property is looking beautiful with all of the spring blooms and green grass. Take care and God bless. 💕🌷🌺🌱🌸🌱
GM ☕️☕️. Always so busy.. the whole fam ! Meg, your little garden will look so nice & inviting to anyone who drives up to the house ! Not to mention the convenience for you😉. I am excited to see your creativity in this ❤ it will be stunning 👵🏻👩🌾❣️
I am a small backyard gardener, but I’ve gotten pretty good. This is my third year and I have so much going on potatoes carrots, onions, bell peppers, jalapeño spinach.
Tax day is 4/18 this year for those in panic-mode. Three more days to procrastinate and work in the garden instead of filing; YAY! Took me three hours to pot a blueberry bush yesterday because my three-year-old is finally outside, too much snow, and has to show me everything she sees... I saw buggies, and buggies, and more buggies along with a few tweet-tweets. I also pulled the season's first blackberry thorn from her left foot; she hates shoes because I hate shoes. Y'all be well, and thank you!
Nice, a fence around the herb garden! It's great that Ben helped dig the holes for the posts. Then he helped set the posts too. The boards went on nicely too! The rice/chicken/onion and drippings casserole looked delicious Meg! I'm so glad that Meg's herb garden has protection. I hope your trip to Ashville, NC for the "Farm Where You Live Festival" goes wonderfully this weekend! I'm glad you had a great weather day for Easter! Thanks for this video Hollar family!
I love you guys you're so normal ment in a good way REAL earthy people, great opener Good _______ people. I just love you guys. May God continue to bless so you can bless your viewers.
The herb garden looks lovely, simple fencing like a grandma's garden. Very romantic. Thank you for all your great videos. The neighbors noise is not distracting from hearing y'all. Maybe they're digging a basement?
Love 💕…Ben and Meg …teamwork makes the Dream work ..plus Meg love your hair in a long braid..🌱🌱🌱 I’m excited to see this small garden I cut myself some green onions I threw in soup and tomorrow will put in chicken salad 🥗
Love the herb garden already! Nice work! Thanks for taking the time in your already busy days to share your lives with us! So inspiring. Nothing but love to you all ❤
I love hearing what is for dinner! It always looks amazing! Hopefully I can get a fence strong enough and high enough to keep the deer out of my garden this year.... It can be so discouraging to have everything torn down and destroyed by those naughty deer! Many other pests to think about as well... but yeah... Fencing is what brought me to watch this today... THanks for sharing!
Hey Hollers, how Fun and Exciting to have a nice space for Herbs and things! Great job helpers❤. Our Temps will be 81° by the end of the week😧 ! JO JO IN VT 💞
When we lived on six acres in Amarillo, tx my husband and I put up42 cattle panels for our fence in back yard. We would each say inch to the left- right all day long. Ones eyes direction was always telling us we're old. We enjoyed working together. Her garden area is coming along. Spring get a person soul revived.
I can’t wait untill I get my knee replacements so I can the plant herbs I just can right now please pray for me your herb garden going to be beautiful tyfs hugs 🤗
Sometimes we make a snack when we know your on. I get a little sad if my husband starts without me. Your the only Chanel I get sad about if he starts without me. Love you guys
What an equitable couple, a shining example of teamwork, Ben clearly digs Meg’s holes, thank the heavens you decided not to cement Ben’s pole into Meg’s hole, that would have resulted in a very permanent type of herb garden.
I noticed the circle of brick and wondered if you were going to plant pie shaped herb groups in it. Of course in the center, you have to put a pedestal with a birdbath or artwork . Or challenge your men to do a metal surprise sculpture. Also, number #1, a simple bench for you and buggy to rest (preferably in the shade by the rose bush so you can ' stop & smell the roses', LOL. So excited to see what your dream out loud will be...do tell!
I've got to do some work on my herb garden this week. Need to do some cleaning out from the fall, get the old leaves out and such, plant some more seeds, figure out if my lavender plant survived. Sometimes they do and sometimes they don't. I'm enjoying gardening again also. Felt so good to get my hands in the soil again. Last night I made and chicken and rice dish. I used one of my jars of canned chicken, used my leftover rice and cooked a bit more (didn't want it to go to waste), added some cheese, frozen broccoli, chicken broth, milk and garlic and onion powder and a can of cream of chicken soup and some sour cream. I don't even measure it anymore. It's something I can easily just throw together. Tonight I'm just opening up a couple jars of my home canned pork butt, warm it up and add some bbq sauce. So easy!!
Have I mentioned how much I hate those clam shell type post hole diggers? I dug way too many holes with them. Hated every one of them. Many years ago, when my dad decided to build a pole barn, guess who got to dig the holes. We were able to borrow a hand auger type from a neighbor. Much better. Except, of course, when you hit a rock. Then you need the clam shell to remove the rock. Have fun you guys.
You may try this for your pickets. I used dog ear fence boards and ripped them int 3 strips and then put them up with a 1” gap in order so that they look like a deconstructed dog ear fence

I don't comment very often, but I always watch. What a wonderful dynamic your family has. I love you all!
It certainly was a glorious weekend! ❤

Hi Heather from Canada, me too😊. I wish many blessings on you as well. Thank you for your kind words. Your garden are is much bigger than mine❤
I would love to have your sons more engaged in your videos. I don't know their names & have seldom heard them speak. They seem like awsome kids.❤
I can imagine Buggy in the hammock next to the aromatic herb garden, so sweet:)))
I love when we get to see you guys and the boys interacting on camera. Fun family!

Buggie is SO cute!!!! Love your family && videos!!
I absolutely love the braided ponytail! Such beautiful hair ✌️💗
I am a small backyard gardener, but I’ve gotten pretty good. This is my third year and I have so much going on potatoes carrots, onions, bell peppers, jalapeño spinach.
I vote for you getting 8 foot fence boards then cutting them in half saving quite a bit of money.
All that in one day? WOW! Well done, team. 👏🏻👏🏻
Tax day is 4/18 this year for those in panic-mode. Three more days to procrastinate and work in the garden instead of filing; YAY!

What a lovely spot for your herb bed!
Amazing what a fence can do! Looks nice!
Your herb garden is going to be beautiful Meg!!!
Garden is going to be EPIC. ❤
Perpetual onion…. Egyptian Walking onions? They are great… 😊 Love your herb garden and fence..
I put up a 6 foot square post for a bird feeder without cement. You don't need cement for Carolina Red Clay, it is its own cement.
Buggy talks so good! Ive had perpetual green onions for Years lol. Love them. Just cut a few for dinner.
💝Love the fence wrapping around the new herb garden Meg! Now to see you fill it in! Take care! ❇❇❇
Wish we could be there this weekend! We were there last week as that's when my spring break was... I got the shirt though ;-)
Meg mom, Chef, dj, producer, director, homesteader, and now gardener. What can't this woman do?
Perpetual green onions?!? Oh that sounds awesome! I can't wait to hear about that!
Team Work, Yes!
I love hearing what is for dinner! It always looks amazing! Hopefully I can get a fence strong enough and high enough to keep the deer out of my garden this year.... Hey Hollers, how Fun and Exciting to have a nice space for Herbs and things!
Great job helpers❤.
Our Temps will be 81° by the end of the week😧 !
JO JO IN VT 💞
Love your channel!
I used my Grannies (1924) twin cast iron bed frame to mark out 1 of my herb beds.
I'm excited to see what you will be planting in that area.❤
Your neighbors are inspired by you moving and shaking and doing, so they get busy too.
Perpetual onions 🤔 can hardly wait for it. 🥰
You can move the rose, so long as you get enough tap root, and it gets enough sun. A rose needs at least 6hrs of sun a day!
That’s going to be so nice for you to go pick seasoning for cooking. Luv it!
Thank you for another inspiring video!
Your house looks nice with the power washing.

Haircuts for everyone!
Great team work 👏
Just rewatched your Journey across your country... what a trip.. is it still vivid to you?
It is! So much so. And the kids go back and watch the trip videos, which is so fun for them.
I feel behind to. But I planted all my things yesterday and today. Now I'm getting the beds ready.
Sometimes we make a snack when we know your on. I get a little sad if my husband starts without me. Your the only Chanel I get sad about if he starts without me. Love you guys
I don't remember if it was in this video or the previous one, but I just loved the little, messy Buggy bun!
I’m always waiting for your video to come out! 😊
Luv your videos and family. I too am a Simple Living Alaska fan.
The herb hard area turned out great. I can’t wait to see what Meg plants.
Can't wait got the kitchen garden
