Thank you so much for this. This was a pretty straightforward tutorial that is so rare on YT nowadays. Had a difficult time with the QCMA because of my potato-RAM computer but it worked!
Thank you! Worked flawlessly. I remember troubleshooting for nights when I modded my psp back in the day.
Me too. I even bricked mine. And had figure out how to unbrick.... lol
This is a phenomenal video. easy to follow and your enthusiasm and passion for the homebrew scene is so clear. Thank you so much for doing this.
never have i ever watched a guide this good, thanks for making this video it was super easy with your help. took me an hour or so to do being very careful not to brick and to follow every step exactly. had to like and sub gonna watch the rest of your vids so i can do more with my modded vita. (model: pch-2001 / factory firmware 3.30)
That must have been the clearest and most concise tutorial I have seen in 13 years on UA-cam. That was great man. Liked subscribed and now reading your Patreon, thanks pal!
Concise, on point and a very helpful video! You're awesome, man, keep it up!!
I hardly EVER comment on videos, but I just have to say thanks for this video! Thank you so much for the work you put into this video. It was extremely in depth and easy to understand. Thanks again!!!
Decided to give my Nintendo Switch a rest and dug up my Vita to mod. Superb, thoroughly detailed, easy to follow tutorial!
So now that it's modded what kind of things do you do on it? What do you suggest
Is the Vita pocketable
@@thelegendgamer33 yes
Thank you for this. I had no issues, and was able to successfully install everything on my first try! I gave you a like and Subscribe, you earned it! Thank you again!
Thank you sir! Crystal clear and no fuss.
Just picked up an OLED fat Vita from a pawn shop for super cheap and have successfully modded after following your excellent tutorial. Great work :-)
You totally helped me clear all the errors I was crushing into doing that. You are a Legend, thanks! My Vita won't rest in my closet anymore ^.^
Thanks for continuing making videos about the vita it is my birthday tomorrow and I’m getting one . It gets me so hyped
Same my birthday is on Saturday and I'm getting a modded one off a friend that does this as a side job
Wow thats quite great. Only wish i even get bday presents. I have to work to get video games cause my parents hate spending on it.
For all of you having problems with downloading vita shell after downgrading.... DO NOT DELETE VITA SHELL AFTER THE FIRST INSTALL!! Delete moduru and H-encore as normal but leave vitashell on there.
This problem stumped me for days but vitashell 1.92 is vitashell 1.92 so you don't need to get rid of it.
If you've already deleted it, upgrade back to 3.73 and start again and just don't delete vitashell. Bit of a headache but at least now you you know 👍😉👍
Failed
thank you for this. after doing everything i couldn't install vitashell. so i had to redo everything. but thank you for the tip. saved me more of a headache!
GREAT tutorial. Watching your videos inspired me to revisit the Vita. I modded my OLED one and got rid of it. I now have a slim model thanks to you. You got a subscriber!
Awesome vid man! I recently bought a PS VITA because of you and your guide was super helpful. I was able to install successfully and I cant wait to see what I can do. Keep up the great work!
One of the best nd most thorough guides for modding PS Vitas. Keep innovating and keep kicking ass!
For 0syscall6 don't use the HFW version if you follow this guide. That's only for hybrid firmware, which this guide doesn't use, and non developers shouldn't use. So only download and use "0syscall6.skprx"
Also install the NoNpDrm plugin which "(allows for encrypted games and applications to be used)" otherwise you won't be able to play backed up games (e.g. downloaded from pkgj): github.com/TheOfficialFloW/NoNpDrm/releases
I also recommend following along on vita.hacks.guide/get-started, it gets updated if anything new comes up, just to be sure if anything suddenly differs from Tech Savvy Buyer's guide.
Excellent Video ! Very well explained, I hit a few glitches also, but they were thouroughly addressed and explained. Really good job !
The best youtuber I done mod 1 psvita this is my second thank you man💪🙏🙏
FYI, when I tried to install Enso v1.1, there are apparently two versions; one is compatible for 3.60 and one for 3.65. I was using the incorrect version and got the error "failed to load kernel module 0x8002d003". After reattempting with the correct enso version, I was good to go.
Also ran into the error of failing to reinstall VitaShell after the final blue H-encore ("failed! 0x80431075"). I got around this by NOT uninstalling VitaShell during the step of removing the red h-encore and vitashell icons.
Finally, I suspect my laptop did not have the correct USB drivers to recognize a connection. I did everything via FTP through Vitashell. Worked just fine with some intense googling and reading others' experiences. Overall success.
Thank you for the great video.
@Tailsgamin23 :l I went through the Sony PSN and just let Sony upgrade for me.
thanks for the help with this error 0x80431075
Thank You for the easy tutorial , I installed Enso on my Vita successfully. Just heads up guys after you install the first VitaShell after you install henkaku DO NOT DELETE it because when you downgrade to 3.65 and install the new henkaku you may face an error while installing Vitashell and that is a pain in the arse , I experienced it and found no fix so i had to reformat my vita again and start this tutorial from start just to get VitaShell. Goodluck guys
You are D Man.
Do i need to uninstall adrenaline and pkgj before downloading enso? I downloaded then on 3.65 but its only soft hacked without enso

i need to format the entire vita and do the process OVER again?
I just followed this method. It is way easier than the other way that I modded my vita. Thanks for the vid!!!!
Thanks for this! I was able to do it. Now I need to figure out how to add apps and old school games. 👍👍
You are the best. I also learned it is so important to listen carefully to the details of your tutorial. A simple job (in hindsight) took me 15 hours to complete and multiple attempts hahahaha. Still good stuff, I thank you very much.

I just soft modded my PSV following your previous video with hencore2 and it's all set up with all games and now this permanent mod😵
same man haha bout to do this
@@Teddybites I dono if I wana go through the whole process again🤔. I've downloaded 40 vita games and 40 PSP/PS games, set up wall papers, one menu and now to do all that again, it takes too long so I'm split between doing it or keeping the soft mod🤪.

This tutorial is good and detailed haha thanks bro i finally hack my vita . Took me 3 yrs to do that
thank you very much for this. Hadn't used my vita in 4 years. It has new life now.
Shit is an emulation monster 🔥🔥🔥 welcome to the club....I have the whole damn Bleach heat the soul series on my vita 1000 😂😂
this worked an absolute treat, cheers!
Hello, first thank you so much for this videos, they are really helpful, my Vita is arriving probably tomorrow.
I have a question, I mainly bought the Vita for P4G and I already bought the game on the store in a recent sale.
If I mod the Vita can I download and use the game, get the trophies and sync them, maybe buying other games or not? I want to mod to be able to use sd2vita since in getting a fat version.
Maybe a video with FAQ could be really useful :)
If you have purchased the game, you can download the game from PS Store if your vita is modded using enso and h-encore. Also, you can get every game for free but you need a plugin named nonpdrm. For plugins, I suggest you to install Auto plugin in your vita.
@@ShubhamPokhrel I know the question wasn't asked by me, but thank you. I will look up Auto Plugin.
@ Happy to know I helped you!
***Warning*** this video is no longer up to date. When you get to installing VitaShell, you will get an error and your Vita won't work.
Go to Blain Locklairs video for up to date Enso Mod

My second Vita, I installed it like a charm, perfect manual, thnx bro
Don't delete vitashell. It will save you the hassle of sideloading later. Trust me!
wish i read this an hour ago :(
omg yes dude :(
I wish I knew this. Had to spend an extra 15mins trying to sideload the app.
Yo does anybody know how I can get vitashell back? I did this and how h-encore won't install vitashell.
@@bryanperez1247 I found a guide on UA-cam it was really annoying to side load
Who here remembers cutting a PSP battery to make it a Pandora to hack it?😅
me it died had to get a new one lol I'm glad no one HAS to do this any more because dude it was the only way to bypass sonys bs anti mod software
You could make your own!? I bought one from the Internet 😬
I remember taking a pencil and using the lead to reconnect the battery when I was done so I wouldn't have to buy a new battery lol
I failed with mine , destroyed the battery 😂
I did this a few days ago. I made a Pandora battery to resurrect my bricked PSP 1000 by using another working 1000 model. I had made a magic memory stick already, and used a PSP app to change the EEPROM in the battery to be a service mode battery. Just like that, I was able to fix a bricked PSP that I haven't been able to use for over 5 years :)
By far, the best guide on UA-cam for this. Thanks!
Awesome guy!! Thankyou so much. All nodded and done 😎
Hey if we already did the soft mod with h-encore with the 3.68 software do we still have to update the system software?
Hey dude you got any idea for the dns one cause it still said “you need to update” thing
Turn off WIFI, reboot your Vita then try the download manager again. (i know its 2 months late, but i just figured this out for mine, hopefully it works!)
Amazing. IT WORKED! THANK YOU!
Definitely earned a new subscriber! Thank you so much! I will follow your videos now. (-:
mine still asks me to update my system software, i followed ur steps perfectly i think. what do i do?
For some reason after downgrading from 3.73 to 3.65 and reinstalling hencore , after reinstalling henkaku when I try to download vita shell is says failed
Did you manage to successfully mod your vita?
It says eboot.bin failed
Sorry but you have to factory reset and redo everything again but this time never delete vitashell the first time when you install h-encore2
Fantastic tutorial! Thanks for this buddy
i had a few bumps in the road but thank you for this video i have successfully modded my ps vita
For some reason Final h-encore is not detecting my ps vita I followed everything I don’t know what’s wrong
Close the tab and disconnect the vita. Run it again and then connect the vita.
Hi, I have already recently downgraded to 3.68 on soft mod with H-encore. If I want to do this, do I have to upgrade to 3.73 first then downgrade to 3.65 or can I downgrade to 3.65 straight from 3.68?
I'm recommenting this in hopes to get a response.
Always go up to 3.73 first, then downgrade.
On 3.65 to 3.73 you can downgrade straight to 3.60.
But 3.61-3.63 have to mbe upgraded to 3.65 firslty before downgrading.

I'm stuck on 19:59. My vita keeps telling me I need to update, I've done everything on this video and on forums but can't get past that.
Edit: So I had to download the Vita Update Blocker and do some stuff in settings to get it to work.
What did you need to do? Mine is rejecting my memory card

Hey mate after downgrading and installing henkaku it won't let my download vita shell. It says download vita shell it says error 0x80431075. I tried different connections with the dns and without but it's still not working?
same issue with mine too..
same no answer to this yet. I wonder if these setting will work with the 3.73 version and we don't need to downgrade lol

If I swap my Sony memory card (for vita 16gb) out to another Sony one (64gb), will I have to do this again?
and also, do I delete ENZO after it is done?
I used my 8GB memory card to do the modding. When I swaped to my 32GB memory card the vita system was modded but the h-encore, vitashell and enso apps were missing. I dont think they carry over as the vita treats them like games. Also does firmware spoofing in HENkaku settings affect FinalHE.exe? I ask this as when I plug my vita (actual firmware is 3.65) into my PC to install h encore on this memory card the exe file on the pc views the vita firmware as 3.73 (the version that is spoofed).
I didnt bother deleting ENZO after the modding. I dont believe deleting it is needed and the moded vita may occer errors if enzo is deleted. Im not sure though.
thanks for the tutorial!! my vitashell wasnt installing from hencore so i put the zip of vitashell into the hencore file on my pc and installed it from there :)
Thanks! I successfully did everything
Cant download vitashell , it fails everytime
i think it only works in 3.6 update not sure tho
At 13:09 there is a time jump, WTF!! it is at a crucial point, idk which you click select on and the file does not open on my pc when I chose a random since u didn’t show
im at that point now and im totally lost at what to do next through fear of bricking my device
Don't click on anything past 13:05 (he opened the app/ file, so don't do that) and then press select as he says. Then continue as normal. I'm guessing he tried to cut out that part but failed and made it look like a jump cut but it's really more of a rewind button.

cant get vitashell to install it keeps say failed when trying to install it
Same. I am having the same issue
I noticed Mr. Tech Savvy Buyer doesn't respond to just everyone, so here is my tip:
You don't have to delete h-encore and VitaShell after downgrading to 3.65. I started from 3.73, deleted them both and couldn't reinstall VitaShell with henkaku 3.65. If you did that, you can just upgrade back to 3.73 in Settings (Just make sure henkaku isn't spoofing the firmware version to 3.73).
You can just leave the 3.73 versions and they will continue working in 3.65. No risk that way. Proceed with the Enso install as usual..
from a comment bellow
@@TheBlueOfTheSky thanks I give it a go tomorrow

thank you man it is awesome
Thanks man great video , you helped fix my whole shit lol
I remember cutting the battery opening, then cutting the solder line, modding the PSP 1000, then using a Number 2 pencil to fill in the solder line to complete the mod...Early days of psp modding!
Just another note (sorry for spamming, but I think it's important,) and that is, when you run h-encore and it seems to crash (at 21:36) it is not crashing, it is just installing h-encore without bothering with the menu. This is for speed and it works really well. The only reason you would need to boot to the menu is that if you did not have Vita Shell installed.
Awesome. Absolutely worked. Now, I am having difficulty getting Adrenaline and Retroarch on here. Adrenaline can't fine the 661.pbp file. Retroarch, was working and I crashed it by accidentally loading wrong ROM. Now, no matter what I do, I can't get it to work at all. I uninstalled and reinstalled it and still getting the error. However, was able to get a working SNES emulator on there, so I know ENSO is working as it shoud. I'm still psyched with the permanent mod though. Thanks for the tutorial.
Download the 6.61 PSP software. It should appear as eboot.pbp, so you want to rename the file to 661.pbp so it doesn't replace the existing eboot.pbp file in the PSPCFWEMU folder. The directory should be displayed in the error message. Good luck.
Thanks for getting my ps vita stuck with something that wont work, I will now try a more updated video to fix it
Thanks a lot man
