Taiwan's visibility in the international community has never been about what Taiwan does and does not do, it's always about how America sees China. When us-sino relationship goes well, Taiwan is an abandoned orphan, totally invisible in the world. When that changes, the world starts to see Taiwan as a tool to poke china. Tsai has nothing to do with all this. Don't overrate tsai's role in all this. Her only contribution is a relatively mild approach to the crossed trait relationship. She did not step on anybody's toes, that's it.
Don't forget Hsiao Bi-Kim, the new Vice president of Taiwan. She did most of the heavy lifting for Taiwan's voices to be heard in our congress when she was the Ambassador to the US, thus uniting both republican and democrat congress members to support Taiwan.
Wrong. Taiwan's increased visibility is not because of Tsai, but China's threat. If it were not for the geopolitical conflict that China brought about, the world would not hear more, or less, of Taiwan. One example, we hear the name of Philippines mentioned very often these years, is it because their president did a great job? Or is it because of China's water cannon?
