I know others have commented on this as well, but you're one the best at explaining these hair tutorials. I really love the way you show the whole process and how you repeat steps! I don't do my hair often so it can feel so overwhelming and frustrating when I try to style it, especially when other tutorials speed through it so easily or assume we know everything. You really make it so so easy and simple to follow. Thank you!!
I LOVE YOU.. all these other videos skipped over the most important step. They just showed them putting it over and then magically they finished doing the whole wrap. THANK YOU
QUEEEEN i just spent nearly an hour trying to french braid a towel robe belt into my hair, and then i watch your video and you say that it’s a french *wrap*, and suddenly it all clicked and i did it in
Your instructions are SO CLEAR! This is the most useful unicorn curl video I could find on UA-cam and IG! 👏👏👏 Also lol at people getting mad at you using a brush, then you show a clip brushing the curls 😂😂
@@LaineyMarieBeautyhey i have a question - - does the thickness of the robe belt sash thing matter? I have a head wrap but it's not as full... Will that will work or no?
Wow, those curls turned out perfectly, and the hair actually looked very nice in the robe tie, like a pretty braid. Also, the way you were flipping your hair around at the end was mesmerising! Please keep growing it to be longer and even more gorgeous. 🤗❤️
7:27 I can only imagine if your your hair was that robe tie and you were just swinging it around like that.😂 It would be funny but also beautiful that your hair would be so long. 🤗💖
I appreciate the work put into this tutorial but after several tries I had to rage quit. I don't understand how people manage to wrap their hair so smoothly and tightly around the rod (or rope - I used a rod). My hair got tangled all the time, didn't want to seperate into sections and the strands got kinda poofy at the roots when I lifted them, so it was impossible to wrap them nice and tightly. All that while the rod constantly tried to flee from my head, I got tired of biting it and clips just got in the way. I guess I'm just a hopeless case when it comes to hairstyling.
oh, a good tip is to comb you hair very well before, and then use a leave in conditioner that will keep your hair smooth and a bit damp, and then you can start wrapping and doing the sectioning.
THANK YOU, thank you, thank you....finally, someone who took the time out for us older people who need the step by step insutruction!!!! You are amazing!
Great idea, need to try this! As to brushing out your curls, don't know what others have said, but as for me, if I brush my curls they are instantly *gone,* killed, as if there never were any 😄 So I just can't do that, but I do have very straight, fine hair that does not hold curl well, even in the best of cases.
usually my hair is a tangly mess, but i think the leave-in conditioner helped! I can see why people dont like when i brush my curls then Lol!! thanks for watching!
My daughter has the exact same hair as you. I have medium thickness super curly hair and my daughter has super fine blonde slightly wavy hair. This tutorial is amazing and it is so nice to see somebody with the same hair for her! Thank you!!
This is what I needed to see, as a side sleeper, plus it looks so much easier this way than the other robe tie video you did, can't wait to try this tonight. Ty! You are my favorite hair teacher!
That looks so beautiful! I’m trying this tonight. I do overnight curls at least twice a week. It’s my go to for when I want curls. I have a GHD curling iron I hardly ever use because of overnight curls. Thank you!
Thanks for all the great details. I wrapped my hair just now. Until your video, I couldn’t visualize the pattern. I’ve got it now. Over, under, add. Can’t wait till morning to see the curls, Thank You 😊 ✨
Trying this tonight! I always struggle to get a good sleep with the “normal” method because I’m a side sleeper- and it never feels worth it because it’s so flat in the back! This looks like it will solve both issues. 😊
I tried this twisting method SO many times with my curling rod and could never get it. For some reason the way you explained it finally made sense and I’m trying these curls tonight! Thank you!
Have tried this a few times and I love this method! It is so much more comfortable to sleep in! I will say the curls seem a bit bouncier when I do the satin rod instead of the robe tie. But I liked the robe tie curls as well since they were tighter and I could brush them out!
How I think of heatless curls with multiple strands versus braids: you never touch the middle strand with a braid because the left and right strands become the new Middle strand with every stitch. With heatless curls you never cross the middle strand, you cross the left and right strands over and under the curl rope or tie. With one you get nice waves, the other gets you spirals, for good or bad. With how much you love experimenting with heatless curls I'm shocked I never saw you try a curly hair routine (correct me if I'm wrong)! I do enjoy seeing these hair tutorials Lainey!
Great explanation! I think my hair is pretty straight, so unless it's heatless curls or a curling iron, I don't think it will curl. Although I used to scrunch my hair all the time in junior high and high school. HMM May need to try again! It's been awhile Lol!
Thank you so much! ☀️ I tried this unicorn method yesterday and it turned out perfectly well! I think I will stick to it and curl my hair like this on a regular basis 😊👍🏻
I love how this is a video that you can actually do it with!!! I feel like most of them explain the beginning and then skip to the end where it’s done, and I just have to pause the video and do it in silence.
At first I thought this was too much talking but it turns out I had been doing it wrong this whole time and I really appreciated the clear instructions
That looks amazing!! I’m going to show my 16 year old twins. One has thick hair the other has fine hair, the one with thick hair doesn’t hold curls at all so I’m very keen to see how it works on her ❤
Ah! I hope it works! Have her try to use small sections and maybe even a mousse or styling cream before hand (but make sure her hair isn’t damp.) best of luck!!! Thanks for watching ❤❤❤
Thank you so much for this beneficial video. You’re super good at explaining this! I’ve watched so many videos and all they say is “you French braid it” and I was so lost because it’s a big thingy in the middle. BUT THANK YOU! AND ITS SO BEAUTIFUL
Definitely going to try this. Wanted to thank you for showing how you used the ghost oil from Verb. I’ve had mine for so long but never used it until I saw this. The results were so good that I wish I had been using it sooner.
Yay! So happy to hear! I love that oil and I use it every night. My hair used to feel like straw before I started using that every night. Definitely recommend!
So beautiful even with the rope in your hair it’s so nice and neat, so different from when I do it. Regardless I’m going to try this unicorn rope curls. Thank you!
Very well explained! I had hopes for this technique but with frizzy, curlyish hair (but not in a cute way) this is a nightmare to imagine doing every night like I can already feel the tangles 🥲
Very nice demonstration Lainey! I would definitely give this a try as soon as I get a chance. Your hair looks great! 😊 My hair has natural spirals and waves, but I still do heatless hair styles to tame the curl pattern and reduce frizz- and avoid heat too! My go to is rope braid pigtails, but I always love experimenting to search for alternative results! It's always interesting to see what kinds of discoveries people are making, especially online! Thanks again for this video!
Thanks for watching! I love rope braids and the results of sleeping in rope braids. So pretty! I hope this helps works well for you!! Thanks for watching!
Instead of brushing it out, have you tried using a wide tooth comb? It will untangle but retain more curl for you probably. I can't wait to try these because I'm a side sleeper and have hated trying my curling rod previously.
@@LaineyMarieBeautyit kinda works but i won't recommend those heatless curls things as they are a nightmare. Satin scarf is easier but it was so awkward to keep the scarf on my head and so it became so loose
love this, it’s cute. As a girlie that made the mistake of getting curtain bangs, I cannot get the hair on the top of my head to stay in the twist, it keeps falling at the top 😔
Thank god for this video, I was so confused and I did it like an actual French braid, it did not look pretty by the next morning. I also had tried it with a fuzzy sock so this time I’ll try it with the curling rod, so fingers crossed 😌
These were such good instructions! Everyone was calling it French braid and I was like there’s no way 😭😭😭. I have curly hair so falling asleep after washing my hair isn’t an option so I’m trying this!!!
This turned out beautifully girl!! I've been doing the robe curls from watching your video on how to do the wrap on each side of your head. And in my opinion, I too agree that it doesn't bother my side sleeping either. Although, I am one of those girls that's always hesitant to brush the curls afterwards bc I think it's going to completely brush them out. When I do brush my hair out, it doesn't look like your hair in the end at all but just one big akward mess of curls & doesn't come out w/ those big beautiful individual sections of curls. So I either don't brush my curls or do it just very lightly. Question though, how do you get your hair looking so smooth at the end of it all? What do you put on your hair prior to doing the robe curls? For me & my hair, it's not smooth at all & I have this like top layer of fly away curls just sitting up on top of my main curls..if that makes any sense? It just looks messy & I don't like that look. Anyway, I like doing the side robe tie curls but now I'm gonna try this method next! Thanks for sharing this tutorial!❤
Maybe bc my hair is thicker/coarser/frizzy but I find it the most annoying tyring to pick up the robe tie enough to get the hair pieces under without a bunch of extra loose hair trying to lift up with the robe tie. Going to order a satin heatless curling rod & hopefully that helps
I wished i could do this. My hair is on layers and its thick. I'm trying to grow it al one length. It is taking for ever. Lol.. your hair always looks so beautiful.
I have tried with a scarf and rods and nothing seems to work. My hair is straight and coarse and it was cut into a shag. A shag is a cut with a lot of layers. I'm trying to grow out the layers. Your hair is beautiful no matter how you style it.
