Democracy doesnt always mean capitalism, and capitalism doesnt always mean democracy. America is a Republic (search for proof/explanation if needed) and its one of the largest nations to use capitalism. I wish there was a proper word to describe non-extremism, ranging from middle-left to middle-right (i think thats correct terminology) which is the ideology that most people think of as essentially the allied powers during ww2, when all 3 idealogies were clashing together, since that mostly eradicated fascism in large countries. Most people just say democracy which is fine but not totally accurate, but for this situation concerning plague inc capitalism would actually be most accurate since its concerning money
@@gadrill4285 in the case of the US it is important, because the USA never has pretended to be a democracy except in rhetoric. After the plague is a great scenario, it has some heavy scripting involved. It is interesting how some custom scenarios like this one and You encountered a bug put great effort in making a story and custom icons, and others don't. Or I might just help someone out who is working on one. Anyhow I am thrilled to see the other two plays.
Unfortunately some of the core game messages (Who's curing you and the Watch List) just cannot be changed or removed using a Scenario. I kinda wish they'd just release an MDK.
I'm really impressed by the creator's economic knowledge, even if he seems to not be the biggest fan of capitalism he at least seems to understand it. Really fascinating scenario. Edit: i jumped the gun a little, watching the other videos the creator takes digs at ALL three models, so more likely than not he just understands capitalism is not perfect.
Fun fact: it is physically impossible to return to the gold standard unless there is a hyper-boost in the value of gold. There is nowhere near enough gold in the world that equals the total monetary value of the US economy.
Perhaps that's because there are too many dollars in circulation. Gold standard just standardizes the value of a dollar against a particular weight of gold. It's not physically impossible by any stretch.
I had a good laugh at the congrats message mostly because obviously the creator has a generally good grasp on economics yet still holds such a bias view on it.
I assume you meant bias against capitalism for something else but think you then said you realise he did the same for all 3. Anyway the creator has a point. Most ways of governance that have been thought up in our modern world have major flaws and it sucks but ALL ways have their downside. We have not thought up a feasible governance method which we could create in our current world without major downsides.
It started out as such, yes, but it is both possible and better to adopt the "free market" choice, which is something that is strongly missing in pure socialist societies. This would be more comparable to a social democracy (like Norway, Canada, UK, etc.)
I did not expect to enjoy watching someone portray capitalism in plague, inc. It really made me imagine the economic effects of each actions, not the plague that was spreading.
This is _so_ badass. Seeing such an awsome, original concept, being played by an expert of the game who understands a lot of what he is actually doing. Usually, gamers are _very_ ignorant of economics, politics, etc (that's actually *not* true, but the games where it matters as a mechanic aren't popular among idiots) but _you_ sir are a badass.
I Believe in a heavily regulated capitalism. I Think the government should step in and stop companies when they put lives and privacy in danger, when they become monopolies, and when they sell/overcollect data on people. I Also believe rich shouldn't be overtaxed, however they should be taxed way higher than poor. For example, 20% of a rich person's money hurts them not nearly as much as it hurts the poor. I also believe that we should get basic free programs, like social security (for the disabled,) pensions (for the retired,) healthcare, free roads, libraries, and services like Police, Fire, and Ambulance, should be free. Food Stamps, I'd keep them, but I believe that Healthcare and Social Security etc is more important. Overall, I believe that we should get some free things, but we should still not be given everything for free, like Socialism. I also believe that the government shouldn't run companies, like communism. I Don't think being full blown Communist, Socialist, and Capitalist is the best way to approach it. Mixing elements from everything should be the way to do it. Edit: I'm an idiot and didn't realize that this comment was 2 years old.

Open market leading to inflation, well if you can outlaw fiduciary deposits you pretty much stop that completely, that should come at the cost of bankers's support thou
i heard about inflation about a year ago and it sorta bothers me. like is at any point will it switch to deflation? i mean you cant expect a piece of candy to be $100 in the future. can anyone help explain this cause i don't want to waist my time in economics class.
DialgaTimer yes you can expect a candy to be 100$, just at that point 100$ is not that much. My country uses a currency called 'leu' 1 leu atm is equivalent to 10000 old ones. Yes the smallest banknote was of 10000. So inflation can get to crazy numbers.
This is literally rebel inc in plague inc but without insurgents
THATS WUT I WAS THINKINGGGGGGG YEEEEEEEE
Does that mean we can sue miniclip
I wish there was rebel inc scanerios
Yes
And Brutal mode is much easier. (I can't freaking finish the game in that mode)

Pravus: a lot of people in the Philippines are dead

The thing is that the is no “US economy” in this scenario
The world isn't exactly what it used to be.
Well, if they started using gold as money, gold WOULD get more valuable.
They should just make the value of a dollar now a standard and compare it to the future

No, it is us who has a biased view of it. We have been brought up to think that capitalism is the only answer to everything. This is incorrect.
I like how this particular scenario path has such a unique style to it that you actually play differently. That's what a custom scenario should do.
The name for the next After The Plague should be United Earth Directorate if you decide to go through a military victory.
Shellshocked German UNSEED(united nations space exploration and exploitation directation) instead
Godamn, you should have renamed it from "new world order" to "illuminati "
Exactly what I thought lol
Brandon Mooney illuminati is old
Its now more appropriate for ISIS
They are the same thing
Conor Emery not they aren't 😂
+FareWinn yes they are

This is almost like rebel inc which was also made by ndemic creations
You should try it
You like your own comment didn’t you?
Im from the future

The thing is that this wasn't even a capitalist society. You(the government) controlled the economy the whole time. This was a socialist victory.

Socialism is when the workers own the means of production.
That's basically the definition of dictator capitalism. See Pinochet Chile for example.

Love the Plague Inc videos, got me into playing it again :).
7mill is 0.1% of the original world population
Le Pepp %0.094 something like that
Le Pepp yeah current world population is 7.8 billion (in 2030 its gonna be 10 billion)
This is after the plague Le Pepp, a lot o' people died
@@spamlord7570 unless it drops from people dying from diseases and people no longer getting married and having kids thanks to feminfashism.

Yeah
I'm still at the beginning of the video but so far this sounds like you're making a global Kiwi Empire!
Nah, this is how they reset the game after you play a game
