I love this so much! I have watched it around twenty times already. Austin, you are so funny, man! The vocals were amazing, the outfits were spot-on, the guitars and drums were seizure-inducing, and the lyrics were ridiculous, ahahaha! I imagine this is what Tallah sounds like to anyone who hates Tallah :P
You a real one homie! Love the music you make, you’re an inspiration to all vocalists! So happy you liked the video and thank you so much for the thoughtful comment! Appreciate you a ton 💜💜💜
I love this shit. I worked a show a couple years ago and they were one of the openers. Not a lot of bands that are new to me can make me repeatedly turn my back to the rail and peep the stage. I was really impressed by the live energy and Justin's ridiculous vocals. I've actually been using tutorials from his Hungry Lights channel to work on my own vocal abilities, and they're an awesome help with weirdly clear and easy-to-understand directions.
The exact second I saw thoss bunny ears on Austin, I instantly knew who he was referencing and clicked. And I am not disappointed, all of this is so on point as a Tallah fan
This is my favorite so far! When I first heard Justin perform I was blown away. His range, versatility, and breath control are next level. And you nailed his vocals! You are so spot on with these parodies, and it's amazing that you can replicate so many different styles perfectly. You are such a talented vocalist!! This series is the best thing ever!
That was really good! Tallah has become one of my favorite bands as of late, seeing you cover them makes me happy. You guys should cover Wolves At The Gate if you haven't!
I’ll give it the old college try! In singing we are familiar with whistle register through artists like Ariana Grande, Mariah Carie etc… so in terms of screams hitting a whistle register is using your whistle register with distortion to achieve whistle screams. They can be achieved with fry or false chord and which ever approach is chosen changes the sound. I think the greatest showcasing in the two types are by listening to Dir En Grey do whistle vs something like Methwitch, both are whistle but are CLEARLY achieved differently. I achieve whistle tone through inhaling which I don’t recommend, I’ve been able to use it effectively for about 4 years but there is a reason I only do it once in a track and never live, it is not something to be overdone. Sorry for the essay, but there’s a ton a nuisance when it comes to vocals as most interest are aware! Hope this helps! 💜
That whistle-y high at the end is great. I’ve been trying to teach myself whistle tone / tea kettle screams recently (fairly successfully; mine sound a little bit like Beyond Deviation, but I also wanna figure how to do them more like Nylist and Shrine of Malice). Any tips?
I think nasal resonance where your falsetto is has a lot to do with the Shrine style fry’s! Listening to Beyond D whistle you can hear how much volume and power it has versus the shrine one is more of a falsetto wailing. Note that I can’t do those whistles yet, so this is just my educated guess!
@@Dickey7861 I've been practicing some more, and I just wanted to say I think you were pretty close to spot on. It's a weird technique, so it's hard to describe exactly what it feels like, but as usual it should be way more relaxed than I previously assumed. Also, while I think the primary whistle overtone is fry based, I do feel a good chunk of the actual distortion higher towards the back of the mouth or top of the throat, so maybe there's some arytenoid/false chord activation too. It almost feels a bit like when I emulate Dickie Allen's highs (based on his description from the Kardavox "Blasphemian" video), but thinner and more nasal like a Luke Griffin squeal.
If i'm not mistaken, i think them missing Rocky is less them not aiming properly and more that a core part of Rocky's character is that he is kinda crazy and extremely lucky

“All according to plan” literally sounded like Justin was the one who screamed it.

This one and the Lorna Shore one are my favorite so far that I’ve seen

Having spent the last 6 weeks listening to Tallahs new album it’s spooky how good this impression is
Yes. I wouldn’t have it any other way
Every venereal and intimate moan Justin does in Tallah, I always imagine him stubbing his toes.
It's nice to know that I'm not the only one with the praying mantis thing. 👍

Can someone explain whistle screams? I’m intrigued, I saw it in the comments and I’ve been hearing that term/technique word used lately
