Insertion of a Foley catheter

Inserting a Foley catheter is a sterile procedure. Make sure maintain it throughout the procedure. It is common to use a 14-16 French catheter. Each catheter will also tell you how much sterile water will be instilled to inflate the ballon which will hold the catheter in place.
