Check the MAR: 01:27
Perform hand hygiene: 01:40
Determine the amount of diluent to be added to medication vial: 01:46
Remove protective caps from vials & clean surface: 02:06
Withdraw air from the medication vial equal to the amount of diluent needed: 03:07
Inject air, turn vials upside down, draw the appropriate amount of diluent: 03:30
Inject diluent into medication vial: 04:22
Determine how much medication you will draw (based on your order): 05:18
Draw the medication: 05:33
Cap the needle and syringe with the medication until ready to inject into the bag: 06:04
Grab a mini-bag and clean injection port: 06:17
Remove needle cap - inject your medication into the mini-bag: 06:53
Lock your needle and place it in sharps container: 07:27
Complete the IV medication label and attach it to the bag: 07:36
Gently mix the bag: 08:11
Ready your secondary IV tubing, check for kinks, moving roller closest to the chamber: 08:20
Spike the mini-bag & hang it on IV pole: 09:28
Position the primary IV solution LOWER than mini-bag: 09:50
Squeeze chamber to fill with fluid - prime secondary line: 10:06
Clean the upper-most port on the primary line - attach the secondary line to this port: 10:57
*Variation* reverse priming secondary line (ONLY IF PRIMARY SOLUTION IS Normal Saline): 11:49
Use the primary line roller to set the rate (even for the secondary line): 13:04
Confirm your drip rate by counting drops for 1 full minute.
Label secondary IV tubing: 14:30
Document & sign-off MAR: 14:41
very nice
What type of needle is used?
This is not a safe Needle because of no filter
The filter is not available to everyone , This video is for clarification .
