    I honestly struggled with thinning and painful edges for 5 years. Relaxing my hair during childhood and braiding really impacted my hair health. I went to see a dermatologist that advised me to take meds, but I eventually kept forgetting to take them. One day I woke up tired of having pain by even touching my front edges and realised the hair strands were very split. I decided to shave the front part of my hair BALD. It looked horrible at first (no joke HAHAHA) but then the hair started growing back thick and healthy after the first 3 weeks. I don't regret my crazy move at all.
    Peace yall ✌️

    So glad I found this channel ❤️ I got COVID19 and was pregnant last yr and spent 3 months in the hospita and almost died on the vent (2 months I was in a coma) After coming home and not having my hair did for 3 months and postpartum hair shedding, ALL my hair fell out in 1 month. I had 3yrs of long BSL natural hair and every stand was gone. I was completely bald. My had was smooth🥺. I was diagnosed with alopecia afterwards. I've been growing my hair back out since December. I've notice a texture change and it growing way slower. I'm doing was n goes 2x a week, daily scalp oil massage, moisture every day and hair vitiamans. I'm going to have my crown back December 2022😃🙌🏽🙆🏽‍♀️

    Hello everyone, make sure to get blood work done because vitamin deficiency slows hair growth and can contribute to hair breakage. A healthy diet with lots of water and sleep helps and does wonders. Take vitamins, vitamin A especially. Also incorporate gelatin into your diet. I also pray to GOD over my hair and it’s working. 🙏🏽❤️ I’m excited for you Luv

    I have had alopecia too twice and as a woman who is over half a century my hair is growing back ever so slowly and is not as full ie dense as it was in my youth, but at least its growing. My advice to younger ladies is not to do too much manipulation as it does get to a stage where so many folicles die off and the hair gets thinner. I wish all this natural hair love happened when i was in my 20's and 30's as my hair would have thrived better. I am making the best of what I have now. I did some videos on my journey too:)

    Thanks for sharing, alot of us in this position. Shaved mine two years ago and now growing locs, my hair's much happier.
    Wanna put out there that there are some types of alopecia you cannot regrow your hair from, they call them the scarring alopecias. With scarring alopecias the follicle the hair grows from is destroyed or filled with scar tissue. Once that's happened no hair can grow from that follicle regardless of what you put in it.
    I incurred this type of alopecia in my mid 20's, over a decade ago. I promise you I spent alot of time money and hope trying nearly all products in the comments and then some.
    I know dermatologists are expensive if you don't have insurance but if you're on the third or fourth growth product/supplement and you're not seeing growth, I strongly recommend going to a dermatologist and getting a scalp biopsy. You can't always see the difference in scarring alopecias and other alopecias with the naked eye, this is why you need to have a dermatologist or trichologist look at your scalp tissue. They will tell you if your alopecia is reversible/manageable or what your options are if you can't grow it back.
    I only share this to save someone several rounds of false starts/hope and money down the drain trying to fix something that can't be fixed because they won't go to a doctor.

    • @tamithecreator
      @tamithecreator  2 роки тому +7

      Thank you! I need to elaborate on this in my next video. I’m using these products a try then going to the dermatologist after a year but I wouldn’t want someone who’s ‘too far gone’ to try these products & have false hope. Thanks for your comment

    Shaving your head is best. I had a bald spot on my left side from pulling my hair too tight. I did an undercut to help (my hair was long), and last year I shaved it all off, including the long hair. Proud to say I have hair growing in that spot. It looks like I have a thinning spot, but on closer inspection, I have white hair growing so it kind of looks like I still have a bald spot. My hair is also growing in thicker.

    10 yrs ago I'm on the bus. An older very voluptuous BLK woman I'm sitting next to with my daughter noticed my daughter's bald edges told me to mix up this solution. Dawn dish soap 1 table spoon 🥄🥣 and two table spoon of blue magic grease. Get a toothbrush 🪥 dip it in the mixture and gently brush only the balded areas very softly. Wash the hair with any conditioner not shampoo Pantene she preferred add your moisturizer Pink oil she preferred and then lightly pat dry your hair with a towel wrap your hair up at night do it for a month you will have enough hair in your bald areas. This is for ppl who edges came out from the hair being too tight. I'm not sure if it works on other conditions but it worked for me daughter.

    My grandmother never wanted our hair relaxed because of relaxers' damaging results. When I moved to the U.S. as a preteen, my mom who is also not a fan of relaxers used it on our hair because it was convenient at the time (2012). My short 4C hair was devasted. So in 2014, my dad gave me a good chop. When I got the chop, my hair grew and I started braids in my college year (2017). The problem? I made the edges too tight. I got these crochet install curls from Amazon last year, and when I took them out, the hair I called hopeless, grew. I couldn't believe it. I didn't follow through after that. I also applied heat, which caused the MAJOR damage. TBH, I did not moisturize my hair much. Last month, I got so fed up with my hair’s mixed textures and dryness that when I comb, chunks would fall out. When I did ablution wiping over my hair, hair fell out. Last month, after another chop, my hair was still falling out, so I wanted to chop off more, but I shaved the entire thing off. I had a lot of mixed emotions when I did it. My mom was heartbroken when I showed her my bald head.
