  • Heyyy lovelies :) welcome back to my channel! HOP IN and BUCKLE UP because
today I’ll be taking you along my Alopecia Areata Hair Loss journey + shaving my head.
I discovered my first bald spot in July of 2022 which still hasn’t grown back as of January 2023 (time of this recording) in fact it’s gotten about 6x bigger. Over the last 7 months, I’ve been so heartbroken and devastated by this extreme hair loss and with how rapidly my hair is leaving me. Feels like every few weeks I’m finding another patch… Ughhh! It’s definitely been a wild ride to say the least…
Thanks for tuning in :) I want this video to be a positive experience for anyone who’s going through something similar, so please be kind in the comments.
Disclaimer: I am not a Health Care Professional and this video is purely for my personal use and documentation. I highly recommend seeing a dermatologist if you believe you’re experiencing some form of Alopecia, they’ll assess you and give a proper diagnosis + treatment options if any.

Thanks for sharing :) and awe thanks so much! I love my bald head, it’s been a journey with the unexpected alopecia. But thank goodness my hair started to regrow itself slowly but surely, took about 10 months to see any growth at all

Girl your video just made me smile I developed alopecia after having a severe allergic reaction to one of my seizure medication and ended getting SJS I survived thank God but I got alopecia. I kept my hair short at first but I had the most hair that I ever had in the last 3 years it was to my shoulders and I was so excited to have this my hair again. But my edges on one side went first the spots in the middle and the back of my head gradually went; then the texture of my hair started changing and that’s when I knew it was nothing i could do. I kept it in like braids for a few days and today I shaved my head. I can see all the spots and heart was a little bit broken so I came to UA-cam for a pick me up and your video did the trick. Thank you I don’t feel alone I feel happy ❤ bless you sis

Thanks for sharing your story! Awe I’m so happy to hear my video lightened your mood some. I know that must’ve hit you like bricks with how unexpectedly it happened, with time I hope your hair begins to regrow itself. Maybe with a change of medication (if that’s ever an option) or your body just doing it’s best to regrow the hair.
Wishing you all the best, I’m sure you’re fly and beautiful nonetheless :)

WoW. You are absolutely beautiful and your energy really comes across. I am a double transplant recipient (kidney and pancreas) and the immunosuppressants did a real number on my hair. Last year, Sept. 21, I shaved my head and wondered why I waited so long 😂
Thank you for sharing and for being so open. Peace and blessings 🙏🏽

I actually got diagnosed back in November with this but I noticed a small tiny barely noticeable spot at my hairline that was thinning and not growing back in 2021. Doctor said I had traction alopecia and areota as well. I’ve checked my scalp and only found it was at my hairline. Sometimes I have dreams of the patch being bigger than it really is or I get so messed up about it it looks bigger in my head than it really is..and at this stage it’s hardly noticeable but I’ve seen it run in the family so I’m really freaked out. I love my hair so much..I’ve been praying to god to fix this and even planning on changing my entire diet just to make any further hair loss stop. You look amazing with no hair tho, I wish I had that

Thanks so much for watching and Oh gosh! I know how emotionally draining this is, doesn’t really matter how small the spot is. with you mentioning genetics I hope it doesn’t grow bigger on you, I know that’s a contributing factor. enjoy your beautiful hair as much as you can in meanwhile and have fun with it haha low manipulation styles of course:) it might not even get any bigger! Mine has been pretty aggressive since the first spot 7 mii look moths ago, guess we’ll see what happens

I have the exact same type of alopecia and it was confirmed this year even tho my first bald spots appeared in 2017 . I’ve pretty much taken on this same attitude there’s nothing much you can do about it expect embrace it . BUT I’m starting to wonder why is this condition beginning to appear so predominantly now especially in women of color ! Makes you wonder 💭 but the short cut on you brings out your beauty even more 😍💙🦋

Why is this happening to us ?!?! What did we do to deserve this???? Women of color seem to be cursed more than blessed in my opinion

I have often wondered the same thing. I thought it was just me until I started learning about the experience of others. There are so many possibilities as we use a wide variety of products, chemicals in the hair that we use to style our hair, or braiding techniques to name a few. I hope we can get to the bottom of it. How are the chemicals that we are exposed to affect our bodies/health in the long run??

Dang sorry to hear! Did you ever find a cause for it? Mine didn’t start growing back until about 10 months, started with white/gray fuzzy thin hairs. Ughhhh I hope it’ll be the same for you… maybe just a hormonal change and nothing permanent

@@niccobernard3125 hey :) thanks for watching and commenting. It can be very daunting being in public when it’s your first time rocking a baldie. If i makes it any easier, use any scarf you have and try some head wrap styles, UA-cam has great suggestions on simple and easy styles. Maybe that might work until you’re comfortable going out with your shaved head. Just be patient with yourself, it’s all new and takes time to adjust

Oh wow! I know how devastating this has been for me so I can only imagine… alopecia comes in different forms and I think I’ve been noticing hair loss on my legs and underarms. I’ve just been watching it closely because of course I’m so paranoid after experiencing this so unexpectedly…
I’m sure you’ll be a great support system for him as he navigates his alopecia. It’s a different ball game losing hair and not being able to do anything about it, sending love!

Hey, apologies for such a late reply. Fortunately my hair has recovered! The largest spot about 80% recovered which took the longer. Everything else back to normal. I didn’t take any supplements or make any changes to my lifestyle or diet. Naturally it grew back after about 1 year of noticing the first spot.
I’m not quite sure what caused this, hoping it just an isolated incident due to stress and not something’s bigger like a silent immune issue.
If it comes back I’ll for sure visit a doctor to figure out what is causing it. But yeap :) all is good now and I’m very thankful because this was a very traumatic experience that took about 1.5 years from discovering my first spot to confidently being able to rock a shave head without the public eye knowing anything ever happened

Shaving it clean with a razor will hide the spots but you pull this off as well.
