I love the idea of it but my anxiety keeps me from trying! I guess for now I live through other van lifers.

Hi jan here. Say anxiety or not. Im ready for vanlife these past 2 yrs. Sick of city life. High rent. Very noisey everywhere. No peace of mind. Been in a cage of apts for 47 yrs. My husband is against camping and van life. So if i ever get single again. Im on the road. To vanlife. Talk about anxiety depression. Stay in the city cage. Also im on low income. Cant afford. The city life. I love camping. Its freedom peace of mind. A wonderful past experience. I will be a permanet nomad. I am 74 yrs. Old now. My husband. Has been out of work for 2 yrs. Now. This time next year if he cant find a job we will be homeless. The rent is up. And our son helps us with 200.00 for groceries a month. I have a. Average small soc. Sec. Check. I wish my husband would understand. He is a handyman. Everyone is doing the job. We are in dallas texas. Im ready to join a caravan. Ive never traveled before. I want to see a friend in quartzsite arizona where she lives. Then take another trip to route 66. Fron one end to the other. I love the country. Go through all the small towns on 66. Such a simple trip i wanted to do for yrs. I guess i can just dream on. But im not giving up on anything. I wanted a simple business to. I guess i can keep on dteaming to. Thank you all. The whale!!! Loved seeing that. Ugh I feel you on that heat, I just left Bakersfield (visiting family) it was 108!!! Insane. Now in San Diego 72 and happy as a clam. My pup doesn’t do well in the heat either so to the beach we go!
Poor Joey and his knees. ☹️ I know how that goes. My little Yorkie had luxating patellas (both knees), with one fused on the inside. She ended up tearing her ACL on the worst side just a few months into our van life, had to return home so we could have the ligament tear and the knee repaired. Currently 10 weeks post op and still not 100%. We still have the other knee to do...and can't until the one we've done is strong enough to carry the full load. 😭 No way I could have rehabbed her after the surgery while on the road. Current plan is to be back out there in January. 🙏🏻🤞🏻🙏🏻🤞🏻🙏🏻 Happy travels and stay cool. You put out some of the best content for van life. It's not about the fancy vans, it's all about the places you go, the hikes and new experiences. Thanks so much for sharing yours with us.
My Morkie, Tina , had the sane. I started treating her with Glucosamine + and her right rear leg has mot gotten stuck at the knee for almost 5 years mow. Believe me I freaked out the first time I saw her leg stucked up! Ig works abs I give if to her every day. Also to Gypsy because she's 14. Tina is 9. Try it. You have nothing to loose and your pet has all to win. God bless
@@luzrucci5534 My 2 1/2 yo Peke is on glucosamine. Vet said all the joints seem fine with manipulation. However, we hike a lot so to hopefully ward off future issues, the vet prescribed glucosamine. Glad it helped your fur kid. An Oregon nomad 🌲❤🐶😽❤🌲

Watching your ferry ride and beach camp is so calming. I keep doggie booties for whenever there's a need to protect paws...takes time to put them on and for pups to get used to them...but its peace of mind and paws. Many people use them for trails, snow and harsh weather, but I also use them for avoiding foxtails, pitch-y areas, and, of course, the occasional injury to nails/paws.

Ebbeys Landing is one of my favorite spots. My pups and I hike the trail that starts at the bathroom. I was just in Coupeville last weekend for a big art festival. I am an artist/vendor and that’s one of my favorite shows. Too bad you weren’t around for that event. It was actually a little chilly! 😃
I wish they sold thoughtcloud in canada. When it was that hot here I had some peppermint essential oil mixed with water in a spray bottle and i would spray it on me to cool down. It also repels spiders if you spray it on surfaces

Glad you escaped the heat! I was still living in Portland at the time and 116 degrees was so hellish! Over 100 people died in Oregon from the heat that weekend. Happy you and Joey were safe, such a good mama 💕

I have been a PNW Coast hugger forever, except for a 16 year detour to Dallas TX for job, then moved back for family:) You went by allyn that I used to commute that way every other week... miss it. Had to LOL when your Van temp, as I did the same thing in my old Caravan.... May have to get back out there since I got a newer Caravan, and wander again... just a little harder in my 70's... It was so hot during those few days! I drove to my cabin in Union, Wa through Belfair one of those nights, and it was 110 degrees still at 8:30 pm. Was neat seeing a part of our little section of “the Hood” on your vid. Beautiful sky colors captured! I just love listening to the beach pebbles roll with the waves 💙.

Just bought your shirt, My Basic Journey, love the color! In the summer, you can't beat the puget sound. Lived on the sound in Birch Bay for 10 years before moving to Glendale Az.

Fantastic! And how amazing for the whale sighting! I went to Point Reyes last weekend and sat for hours hoping to see a whale (no dice!) but did see a bunch of pelicans and a few sea lions. 😜🤩😍

Ocean Shores is good to. I'm happy you went to the beach and found some cooler weather. You may also enjoy Mukilteo Beach, Bellingham, Orcas Island etc....I LOVE WASHINGTON especially for its wildlife. Mount Raineer is a good spot, its one of my favorites. Enjoy sweetie.
