I am retired and am a writer was born in river Town here in Illinois. Have lived in Springfield for last 40 years but after losing my husband been researching Quad cities for a change of pace.
You left out Longview Park, fishing on the Mississippi, fishing in Lake George, water skiing on the Mississippi, Jim’s Rib Haven, Harris pizza! Oh and I can’t forget. Whiteys Ice Cream!I have a bunch more suggestions, but I don’t wanna bore anyone! Let’s just say that I was born there in 1959 and left there in 1977 to join the US Navy. Every second that I’ve been away from the quad cities, has been a painful one. I now live in Los Angeles which is exactly the opposite of my home town.
You are absolutely right! There is so much that I have missed. I may need to do a part 2. We would love to have you back in the QCA whenever you'd like to come back!
