Great looking emerger Shawn 👍 I love snowshoe, ever since I started tying and fishing the Usual back in the 80s. When I tyed Rosenbauer's snowshoe emerger the only curved hook I had was eagle claw's L042. I didn't have CDC either, so I used the only hackle I had from a #2 grizzly rooster cape. That fly on that 042 hook was a killer. That hook shank is like a platform for tying the emerging portion of the bug and a curving wide offset gap for the nymph/pupae portion of the bug, plus a straight eye that I prefer. If you look at the changes the "klinkhammer" hooks have gone through, Partridge now makes it like the daiichi but with a longer straight shank before going into the typical curve of those hooks, similar to the 042. You tye and fish for a living, it would be interesting to see what you think of tying and fishing on that 042. They make it in many sizes down to a #16. I don't know if it's the pattern or the hook that makes it catch fish, but I've had good results. Plus it's inexpensive and made in the USA. Thanks Shawn.
