I want this but it sounds really loud still. My main gripe is using a drone in nice chilled areas where it's peaceful and serene and then some muppet with a noisy drone ruins the peace...I had my phantom in the Lake District and even in the wind it was very loud still! Is it at loud as a phantom?

Thanks for the video. The Dobby will go up 48m at least. That's the highest I've flown mine. The latest update lets you do a flyout up to a minute. It goes out at whatever angle you set the camera. That time though is pretty scary. Definitely do that on an open field until you know what you're doing. Don't expect to still be able to see the Dobby though. It travels quite far in a minute.

Nice review, Andy! Somewhat torn on whether I want to check it out or not. I will probably wait until they get some of the bugs sorted out. Wish their image stabilization worked a little better and didn't have the black bars. It will improve with time though. Cheers!

I like the possibility's with this Drone, great design. If you could have a standard RC control, with the phone mounted on top for the higher functions... This would be a must buy ! The idea you could get it to follow you on a bike, skateboard etc etc, with all the functions would make it a winner... IMO
I'm disappointed Andy, in the tracking mode, i wanted to see you running about the field, with it following you... That way we could all shout run forest runnnn !!! :-)
J/K, Great review again, like to see more what you can do with this ...

Loved the review Andy I also got a Dobby today on the mail can't wait to try it, I was wondering if you've seen the lishitoys L6058 Pocket drone wifi fpv version? I know you were a big fan of the original L6058 pocketdrone that you reviewed, and was wondering if I should just get the version without the wifi fpv? Greatly appreciate your thoughts! 😉

I got a dobby or maybe I should say, I used to have a Dobby (as my 3rd drone) I had 2 crashes with it. first crash, I was doing roof inspection. 1st attempt of roof inspection went smooth. Drained whole battery for 7 min. 2nd roof inspection, went smooth first 4 minutes then suddenly it flew backwards slowly by itself and i lost control. hit a wall, then crashed about 2 stories down. 2 arms totally went off but was just help by the wires for the motors. Had to send it back to zerotech for repair free of charge. But I paid for shipping ofcourse. they shipped back for free. report from zerotech was that the compass went bad. but after it was repaired, I was able to use it alot with no issues. until today, I flew (launch) it from a bridge of 20 meters high and 60 meters away from a waterfall. just from take off, it just flew forward away from me/ away from the falls without even touching the controls. I tried to move it back towards me, and it did. but it did move all the way back and couldn't control it anymore. hit a tree, tumbled all the way 20m down from cliff to the shallow waters. I still had wifi connection to it. had 1 chance to relaunch it from water. flew about 2 feet but it just tumbled down again. I think due to water was already inside it. or maybe the arms weren't at its normal opening position. this time, it fell upside down so no way of relaunching it. and no way to get it back as it was not allowed and actually very dangerous to go down and walk along the foot of the falls. i am just not sure whether the compass was broken again. since it was moving by itself at full speed. first compass breakdown during roof inspection, it was atleast moving slowly. anyhows, just sharing my experience with my Dobby. maybe i just got a bad unit. hopefully this wont happen to people buying it. portablity wise, I think it's the best. nice pics and videos. But unfortunately, from 3 months of using it, I have to say bye bye Dobby. Planning to replace it with Breeze. Which has motorized camera vertical panning which the dobby didn't have. and it has almost twice more flight time than the Dobby.

    • @AndyRCchannel

Thanks for a really detailed review!
The demos and reviews of this drone seem to drive home the point that it's not worth the time or trouble.
More stable functions, a real physical controller, and at least a 30% price drop would make a world of difference on this one.
As it is, even though they're pricier, the Mavic and Breeze blow this thing out of the water.

You r the best reviewer for this kind of RC. Must be your voice tone and accent ?
This is the best drone w it's functions put the others competitor in it's class or higher in the dust.
The only problem is the price, it's actually cheap considering all of the hardware and functions, but everybody who want it don't have that much of money to spent for this giant capsule. Design is nice btw.
    Very interesting product.

Even though it still has some bugs and doesn't have a controller yet, I would say this is still the best drone in this size that I have seen so far. Leaps and bounds better than Onagofly.

For the voice commands to work, it seems you have to talk while holding down the mic button. One time it heard "Dobby go" in the video and it wanted you to press "confirm." I wish it had a better interface with audible clues, as I wouldn't want to be constantly fiddling with my phone. Hope you get it sorted!

    • @AndyRCchannel
      @AndyRCchannel  8 років тому

nah thats not correct. you do have to hold it down... i was doing. the confirm button came up when i slipped my hand over the palm take off button. cheers

Looks like a pretty neat drone. I like the EIS, although the black bars need to go. I was wondering if anyone has heard anything more about the issue this particular drone has with going off on its own?? Like this one did around 29:35. I saw another guy on here who had gotten one and took it out on the street to fly it. Everything was good for a few minutes then the crazy thing just flew up and away. He said he never found it. That's WAYY!! too much money to lose like that. That is the one thing that would keep me from ever buying one if they could just do what they want at times.

Nice review. Very clear and detailed. Drone looks cool but could use larger & cheaper battery, higher res camera, remote gimbal tilt & framing when in EIS. Pity it's so expensive with the MAVIC as competition it's likely to be overlooked unless the price is halved.

I have one coming from Banggood next week and I can't wait to get it. Is the PDF easy to use (like is it in English or Chinese English). I got my Dobby drone today what a huge disappointment all it left me with was a broken heart and nice gashes on my hand from when I tried to stop it from hitting or crashing into my pregnant wife when she was with me outside for the drones's first flight. I couldn't get it to follow my controls and did everything by the book but yet it almost seem to have a mind of its own and ignored all my commands, check out the pics.
