What a great movie. Love the song as well! :-) Oh btw. an Irishman once said to me: "You know what's the only difference between an Irish wedding and an Irish funeral? - At the funeral there's one drunk person less." :P
i would love to have this played at my funeral! it would make everyone remember how i loved to laugh. i know it has to be hard facing leukemia but never lose faith. there are so many praying for your happiness and well-being.
I remember my mom telling me I had to watch this scene. I was thinking "Great, some sort of sappy crap". But then when the song got going & the priest sang along to it, I just busted out laughing. Very cool scene.
i love this scene! first you want to cry and then this song just makes you laugh with tears. it´s just like in the book. You read something terribly sad and then comes a joke and you just can´t do anything else but laugh through the tears. Thanks for posting this!
I love Kathy Bates. I don't have more than about a year now. I have liver failure and I'm not going to get a transplant unless there's some alien technology discovered at The Mayo Clinic or Johns Hopkins. I want people to laugh at my funeral. I have a death pact with my best friend. And he lost. Whichever one of us dies first, the other HAS to wear a black dress and a veil (considering we're both men over 6"1' makes it even better), AND stilettos. The survivor HAS to blow his nose THROUGH the black veil and jump the casket. Ask any funeral director what a "casket jumper" is. This is the pact we made as brothers. I hope I can watch that scene from heaven. But most likely, I'll be in hell, so I'll be looking up. But I can't wait to see it.
i just watched this movie for the first time, wasn't wat i expected, but still a great movie :D don't think i'll watch it again though, feels like a one time watcher :P
This is somewhat typical of an irish funeral party! Only it would be a whole lot more lively in Ireland! As for the priest signing the pogues, not quite sure but then here anything goes! Love that movie, but the book is much better! Anyone who hasnt read the book, put it on your bucket list quick!
this is how i want to be sent off when I pass I want all my friends to drink a bud light in my honor and then poor one on my casket and if they dont drink poor one on the casket and rember the great times we had family and friends forever i havent picked the song I want played yet becouse there are too meney the song they played in this movie is in the top 5 though.

That's what I'm gonna do for my funeral. Choose a song that makes people laugh instead of cry. :)
I remember my mom telling me I had to watch this scene. I was thinking "Great, some sort of sappy crap". But then when the song got going & the priest sang along to it, I just busted out laughing. Very cool scene.
