Thanks so much! Probably way too much work for a $30 device ;) but you know me.
No problem at all pairing it to my android device running android 8.0 Oreo. Combined with the marvellous Notify & Fitness for Mi Band app (the pro version which comes at a dollar or three) one can unlock stunning features that make it possible to see who is calling, who is texting or apping, continuous heart rate measuring etc. Fantastic device for this kind of money!
Yours reviews are grates. You should test the new MI band 4. I trhuly want to know how accurate is the heart monitor
Great review! About the Bluetooth connecting problems, maybe it's because of the cellphones? I got a Samsung and a Motorola, and both connected with no problem at all.
Weird... I have my mi band 2 for a month now and never had Bluetooth connection problems with my Asus Zenfone 3 android device. It connects instantly without unexpected disconnections after. I truly agree that this band is only precise for walking and outdoor running, and also sleep recording (best use of using the mi band 2 alarm to wake up in light phases of sleep and not deep phases or REM). All in all, it does the job done for 30 bucks, also the battery lasts more than 10 days for me. However, I should have considered buying Amazfit Bip instead for $40 more, which has a lot more functions.

it wont pair to your Samsung because its paired to your iphone
for distance travelled, does it track like how much you run? or is it just an estimate
I had no issues with the connection (maybe because I was using a Xiaomi phone), but my main problem is the display brightness. Apparently, after going through one of the upgrades, the screen becomes much too dim outdoors and I had no way of fixing it. If you search the internet, this is a problem that has been reported by many other users.
Hi! I’m not able to see my daily steps or even the steps graphics. The iOS version I have for mifit is 3.3.1, not sure if is the app or the band.

if you like mi fit2 you should try Xiaomi Huami Amazfit Smartwatch 2 for fitness test. Same company make it! and it's awesome BTW i use mi fit2 for years now with with range of android devices..( SGS6, SGS8 among other things) and it has better connection then Suunto Spartan, and even Gear s3 Frontier.

Hey Des! For an older guy who takes a walk 3-4 times a week, what would you suggest? Mi band 2 or Vivofit 3? The difference is only 30 Euros
That's a tough one...if you want heart rate, go for the mi band 2. It's pretty darn good. But Garmin Connect just blows the mi fit app out of the water, but it won't show much more than distance and steps. I'd lean towards the mi band 2 just because it's so darn cheap.
what is behaviour tagging in the mifit app?
Maybe you should try to make the Mi Band "discoverable" in the mifit apps before you unpair. This thing connects nicely with my phone without any issue.
Ya, tried that too. Maybe I had a faulty unit since I was having some issues with my iPhone as well. Worked great when it was connected though!

Des, you need to unpair it from the iPhone via app, it can only sync with 1 device.
Did that, even a factory reset. Even still, it's awesome at just $30. Could have just been a faulty unit.

The app is at fault here. There are custom apps that for a few dollars make this band a lot more usable. I use "Notify & Fitness Mi Band" but there are other options as well.
