There's a new open water swimming venue in Canary wharf and I've been meaning to go at some point so really looking forward to it especially with the heat we're currently experiencing in the UK
Great video, thanks. In my outdoor swim bag I have swimsuit, Magic5 goggles - great for anti-glare and no leaks, swim bouy with a waterproof pocket for my mobile and surf shoes because you never know what lies beneath your feet! I am fortunate enough to live 2km from a river beach with designated swimming area and lifeguard in the summer and water temperatures currently in the mid 20s.
I did my first open water swim and had a couple of panic attacks...water was really cold and really murky....didn't adjust to the water temp when I got in, just started swimming and that plus a new wetsuit which I hear sometimes can be too constricting and cause panic attacks, will eventually loosen up after 4-5 swims.....So keeping my fingers crossed on the next one!
great timing! just got my first ever wetsuit but am scared to start! Oh yes and I got an orca wetsuit after the video Mark did on them and the fit is sooo much better than the other brands I tried on. I'm a tall woman and the other ones were reallllly not made for that! The Orca material is way more flexible than the other ones I tried too. Right, no excuses.id better get out there! Thanks Heather!
Very convenient video since I have my first open water session in Shepperton this week! Thanks!
Awesome - hope it goes well, and have fun 🙌
Great video for beginners. I’m planning a swim in Cam river recently.
I’d love to go Vobster Quay to open water swim as I used to Scuba Dive there. Plenty to look at underneath when swimming

Well said, no excuses. Enjoy your new suit.
I'm a beginner and I love to swim in lakes and dams
But the water depth and the fear of water animals really messes with my head, please help
What is an essential in your kit bag? 🏊♀
Dont forget to secure your expensive watch with an extra wrist tie
I thought that opening music was gonna be HARD-FI … but sadly not.
