Selecting , deselecting gesrs is designed for larger wheels after market add on changes final drive ratios. Helps when towing , Hold or when hill decent eg trucks or towing must use lower gears. Less chance of brake fade. Deselected high gears to stop runaway, more use of engines braking. Helpful on sand mud dirt etc by automatic not gear hunting.
I haven't found that I am sorry, I only need to run through the routine I do after a key cycle. I imagine I am running on the latest software, serviced a few weeks ago.
Ford dealers now have a systems update for the hands on steering wheel alert. Makes a major difference. All good.

I also find that having my tongue poking out the left side of my mouth while depressing the buttons is a major help.

And if you turn off lane keeping assist, and then turn on Cruise Control, you need to turn off Lane keeping assist again. F-ing annoying
