What hairstyle are we doing today?
Today we're doing cornrows.
Ooh, and why cornrows?
I've recently started to love them. But when I was little I would hate to have that type of hairstyle. I love that I can just change up my whole look in a day. I love how much it frees me up, that I no longer have to do, sort of, nightly routines, that I can go swimming, I can go on holiday.

3:14 Thank you Rosaline for highlighting that cornrows in the African context is not “gangster” but a traditional hairstyle. You did that in such a beautiful non condescending way. I cringed when Olivia described it as a gangster hairstyle but can understand how she is influenced to think that if her only access to blackness growing up was American Black entertainment... the power of the media. I wonder if Olivia has ever visited Nigeria?.. It is an eye opener for Aussie’s who have the opportunity to go. 🌍✨
