How come the VW community is filled with all this hype and happiness about some old piece of metal? I love it! 🤣👌🏻
Very inspiring for my ‘73 Bus rebuild. 💪🏻
My girlfriend's grandparents have a 1977 Volkswagen 231011 parked in a nearly collapsing barn for 20+ years. This summer we're getting her out of there. Awesome video!
Very cool!
@@VWLifeVW it is indeed! Can't wait to get it out!
'78 is GREAT..I had a green one in Germany courtesy of the US Army.
I fell in love with the Beetle in 63 and have owned various ones over the years. The last was a 74 Super Beetle that I sold in about 1991. I still have dreams that car is waiting for me in the mythological VW repair shop in the sky. Keep on doing what you're doing. I love it.
Very cool!
In the early 1990s I found a 1964 panel in a wrecking yard. Got it active and drive it for ten years. Save all we can. My 64 panel had a huge truck drive shaft for a bumper and an ancient Doobie in the ash tray. I also found the previous owners wallet, black and white license photo.
We just inherited a '72 bus. We are looking forward to figuring out how to restore it! Love what you do!
A bloke can never have too much rust!!
that's right Tony!
I rescued a 78 Westfalia, same color, same interior! It also had sat 25 years in a backyard (in San Diego, CA). It's SO cool, but more expensive to restore than I ever anticipated. Still, a great vehicle. Good for you and your project!
Right on, try to save money when you can.
Cool save. The trucks are cool, too. Ought to get them, too. Be nice to see the site cleaned up ( what a mess!)
Volkswagen font! You guys rule! VWLife!
Hey it's the little things that matter!
I restored a sage green 79 westy, and it was in worse condition than that (maybe my engine was a bit better to start with) but it is a beauty now and I love it to death. I am a VW Fan for life, and I am getting the itch to do another! My son will be 3 this month, and I can't wait to take him all over the country like Gary took his son. Those pictures gave me so much hope for the future.
Dude that's awesome! I love the green plaid interior in those you definitely need to find another project!
@@VWLifeVW Yep, I love the plaid!
Another VW saved from rust heaven
Maybe order a sticker one day :)
Hard to believe that property owner has all of those old classic vehicles just sitting there rusting away when many of them could be salvaged and restored. Why not offer them all for sale and at least make some money off of them? Glad to see this old Westy will not be left there to die. Great job, guys.
thanks RIchard!
Great save! That thing gets a new life!!
You guys are heroes for the aircooled volkswagen. You are part of saving the best history of car in the whole world.👍👋💕.
if i was living near you guys would always be in these advantures nice one
Awesome,Westfalia Camper find, what makes it so special, is the front spare mount, the pop top.
Yes, it is!
I am a VW guy for 50 years and own three beautiful cars. I am glad you guys are so motivated to restore such a car. A million hours an 40 K should bring her right back.
That sounds about right! Thanks
Now I want an old volkswagen 😊✌
Get one!
That chair seemed nice too,and that engine analyser oscilloscope is very cool to someone who can appreciate vintage automotv stuff, all those cars are a shame how they are neglected. And also cover those bikes with a tarp!!!I hate to see stuff being neglected.
i think most of the trucks are going to get another lease on life
So much fun to watch you guys
You are saving VW's. If that's not impressive enough your videoing it for all of us to share.
That's awesome!!!!!
Wow, thanks!
Nice find! Hopefully she'll start and run for y'all.
You are so funny. Great job. Another rescue! A big hug from Brazil!
Hey thanks so much I'm glad you enjoyed it!
He answers EVERY comment? LOL. Everyone has a VW memory. Here's the short version. My dad (back in about 1970) owned a couple VW Bug's. We lived on a farm near a little tiny town called Wembley, Alberta, Canada. He had to drive to work every day and I remember in the winter that year (I was 7) we'd had a Blizzard and the snow had drifted so high I couldn't even see over it in places. The wind had drifted it into packed hard snow over the road so you couldn't even see where the road was. Dad drove the Bug over the top of the drifts and made it to work that day. I guess the Bug was so light and the drifts so packed it didn't fall through. I don't remember if he had the chains on the wheels but I'm assuming he did.
Wie that's amazing! Testimony off how to rugged they can be
Brings back memories. One of the vehicles I learned to drive on was an early 60s VW cargo van. This was my neighbours van that had been sitting for a number of years. We brought it into my high school auto shop to work on. The king pins were seized that we free up with heat and pumping grease into joint. Had a couple bugs myself over 50 years ago.
Nice!
I love to see a happy VW family. I started with a 74 beetle. Now 20 some VWs later, I still have the fever. Keep on Buggin!!!
That's awesome it's in your blood!
Hello i hav vw combi

Hello from Australia. You certainly have heaps to keep you busy now during lockdown. Keep washing those hands.
Hey Aussie! Hope everything is well Down Under and we'll keep washing her hands
very kool,..keep the content flowing during the shutdown.... and yes just rescued a '67 Lotus white Gazelle interior Beetle parked in the same spot since 1993.
Very cool! congrats
Thanks for keeping me entertained during quarantine! You have no idea how many of yalls videos I've rewatched
Our pleasure! and thanks
Me and my son had the greatest times in vw busses ever sinds i came to Holland in 1970 i had bus after bus and then i had my son in 78 and me and him fixed every thing you can think of on the vw busses until 2000 and i went to a volvo and now i do not have a car no more but i have a lot of good memories of all the good and the not so good things about vw busses.Like for example driving all the way from Paris to Amsterdam and as i was parking the bus the steeringbox broke off so there was no more steering i was lucky that it did not happen on the way. Also i had a fuletank that was sucked flat by the fulepump,so only 3 liters max. i had to stop 10 times from Paris To Amsterdam and that was a lot of fun. I think you know what i mean greetings from Bill and Sam from Holland
Wow thank you so much for sharing your story! We can almost imagine all the other stories you could tell. That's really what we love about Volkswagens. People had so many great adventures and went through so much in them. Thanks again and hope stay safe out there
@@VWLifeVW yes i have a lot of story s next time i wil share another one with tou guys sta safe and keep up the great videos greetings from Bill

I have 3 vw in France, T3 1982, T2 1968, Super 1973.
I am in cureeantly in quarantine in Brisbane and you are making my days watching all your channel!
Good work, postive and funny, thumb up guys!!
Very cool! post a picture of it on our facebook page - facebook.com/VWLifeVW/
Wow - I am still fascinated, why does the english speaking world love our old VW busses so much. 41 years after the production has ended in Hannover/Germany. What has this vehicle the modern VW-Transporter hasn't? 😊
My parents also had such a vehicle, but in the late 70s, when they were everywhere on the roads... But why in 2020?
It's about simplicity of design. We can fix anything on them. Also think about a modern car at 10:15 or 20 years. All of today's cars will be gone in that amount of time they're all plastic and I'm just going to be set to the scrap yard. These old cars are solid steel
My parents had a forest green vw bug and it was a rust bucket beyond rescue. Every time it rained there was an mini Atlantic on the rear floor board of that thing. I haven’t got a Scooby doo where it is now probably scraped. But I like old cars I’m happy I come across your channel. Stay safe.
Awesome thanks for sharing!
VW Life you’re welcome.
Biggest video here on VW Life!
Parv
that's right!
I remember back in the early sixties,my dad had a tan 59 VW pickup and his twin brother also had a VW pickup.
Wow that's awesome! Would love to see a picture of them together
I love it that Guys like you fix cars that most people will just let it rust away!!👍🏽👍🏽
got to save as many as we can! :) thanks Roen
Old car van lorry etc etc. Your giving new life . God bless you
thanks :P
Great to see another Bay Window rescued. The video caught my eye because I have an Automatic ‘ 78 Bay (Wilma} in great shape here in NL Canada and this one might be her sister or first cousin. Would be great to compare vin #’s to see where they came off the production line for a laugh. I haven’t seen the rebuild video yet but am looking forward to watching! Great work guys! Keep it up! Cheers from the Rock! ✌️🍻

I'm a big vw bug fan and I'm really glad i came across your channel great job guys, stay safe.

Thanks for sharing another great episode of VW-adventure. As I watched you guys putting away all the debris I felt about TJKs in another sense of the word. And ... thx a lot for sharing the memories of Gary and young Jake. I wish my dad would‘ve taken me on such a great roadtrip.
Yeppers pretty epic huh?
Thanks for another VW Life video, a great find on that VW bus. Stay safe and healthy, I will see y'all on the next video.

Hi sup dena

Nice bus ... and a free watch.

Looking forward to the inside debris identification and full water jet clean up episode. I really hope you filmed that.
It pretty much hasn't been touched since we parked it there against the garage so yeah more updates are coming!
Wow I like your foot break
The best Bulli ever the VW T2b Bus.

one day we'll get to it :)
Great find! I'm looking forward to seeing you guys get her running. Thanks for sharing, and I just purchased your long sleeve tee. GOOD TIMES!
Hey awesome Reggie thanks for the support and we hope you enjoy your T-shirt!
Always nice to see another bus being rescued .
Yes!
VW Life at least over there they are quite solid , here in England a rescue bus means learning to weld ...... a lot !!! Take car stay safe .
I have always wanted a westfalia, glad I found your channel. That one looks like a real job. Stay well, and good luck. 👍🏻
Welcome aboard!
No need to reply. Storytellin. And your new Westy find is close to the heart. I'll be watchin'. Had " acquired " a '70 9 passenger after college and slowly started to round up needed parts. Clutch, exhaust, tires, etc. but it was in dire need of a front torsion ladder. So I was recommended to guy to install a good one I had found. He claimed he was super mechanic and could do the work. I
was young and foolish and believed him. After two months he hadn't done a thing. So I had to serve him a summons just to get the thing back. This really put a damper on my prospects as I had since landed an out of town job. I had been close friends with the neighbors and they had done a lot for us when we moved in and 4-5 years had passed and I realized I had not time for the gurrrl.
My neighbors son asked for it and told him it was his if he yanked it out of the garage. I asked him to keep in touch but he never did. It was quite the handyman special. Anyway soldier on boyz, I'll be tuning in for progress.
wonder if it ever made it on the road
its so funny seeing a van tow a van
Like that? 😂
watching your channel makes me want a beetle again, I had a 73 in my teens and I remember my dad having one when I was a kid. There so expensive but its a newly found want/goal. thanks for reminding me how cool this things are.
That's awesome!
I am restoring a 1970 Westfalia in México and you guys are sure an inspiration. Please keep sharing what ya´ll do. Love ATX BTW.
Awesome thanks!
One day I'll get a VW bus because there the coolist car

thanks yes looking for the right model now!
Great video, its nice to see those old pics of Gary and son. We had a 73 westy for about 7 years. We camped alot but no long distance trips. Keep on dubing!
Hey John that's really what it's all about making those memories!
That Sun tester is worth good money. It's a shame it's being left to rot. They're a real collector item.
Yes we asked the owner I think he understands its value as well otherwise he would have let us have it or buy it!
Excellent video, Another VW saved! Stay Safe!
Thanks, you too!
Nice save! I have a Mexican beige WESTY that I pulled out of a yard in Ashtabula Ohio. The body is shot but the camper interior is primo. This will help in restoring my 79 sage green Westfalia Your guys videos inspired me to get in the garage and get work done on mine! Keep up the great work that you’re doing!
that's awesome! post a picture of it on our facebook page - facebook.com/VWLifeVW/

Hey Julius well we're glad you enjoyed it!
Guess you must now be in lockdown too, crazy times, but a golden opportunity to get work done on the projects in the garage, keep safe, greetings from lockdown UK!
You got that right!
Very cool. There is one in a service station yard by me in Saginaw, TX. The guy has a tow service and has been in business since the 70's, and has a lot of old vehicles in the back lot. You can see a bus in there from the road.
Thanks! Will have to research this

Yes in the United States it was the rabbit I don't think the Bora was in the United States but mostly it's called the golf
@@VWLifeVW Do you got some Vw Golf? Im new on the channel. Not see all Videos.
Thanks for bringing another one back on the road. I hope you snagged that sun tester too, big Pamona bucks right there.
Believe us we tried but he was keeping it no matter what. That would be so cool to have in the shop and hook up to your VW to test it

Thanks!
My parents bought the first combi bus straight off the assembly line in Germany. Hamburg to New York. 1967 if I remember correctly.
Wow that's awesome!
Very cool. Looking forward to a series on this ol’ gal.
Yep we have a couple of other projects that need to be finished first. Thanks!
I would like to leave a suggestion; When you are going to rescue a car in this state of conservation, how about having the habit of going through a car wash, on the way home and doing a wash before arriving home. The vehicle would arrive with a different appearance and facilitate access to certain areas such as suspension, brakes and steering.
Hey thanks for the suggestion! Actually we will give it a proper power washing and be there to film it all when that day comes.
I was just thinking the same thing. Quick pressure wash.
