I opened my book, tried hard to understand the concept multiple times, failed, came here watched the video for once....and now I clearly understand every bit of it. I wish I had such teachers who can make things easier to understand.
Hi sir, About 4-5 years ago I had watched this video and all the other electrical engineering basic one on the night before my reattempt exam for Basic electrical engineering subject for my computer engineering degree, that was my last attempt and if i had failed i would have had to take a gap year. Your videos were the only ones that made sense and having watched all of them i was some how able to clear my exam about 20 marks section was delta to y,rest was all circuit theorems. Thank you, hadn't i had discovered your videos the night before i could have failed my tests.
@@MichelvanBiezen Yes i did graduate in summer of 21 with a 4 year degree in Computer Engineering. Currently working at a Big N software Corporation as a Software Engineer.
Amazingly simple and straightforward video. I clicked on the video confused, and I’m leaving feeling I like I intuitively understand things now ! Thanks a bunch !!
I dont know how but apparently this conversion was skipped in my university? Cause I honestly dont remember if they did. Thank you so much for this method, just solved me a lot of future headaches.
hi, at 2:00, where does that formula come from? I know that u can find the total resistance in parallel circuits by doing product/sum, but why do we not include R3 in the product?
We have a playlist: ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING 2.1 DELTA TO Y CONVERSION PROOFS starting with this video: Electrical Engineering: Basic Laws (29 of 31) Delta to Y Conversion Derived R1=? ua-cam.com/video/pDRE4OSUd2Y/v-deo.html
I am getting ready to retire from my day job in a few months. That will leave us more time to work on these new topics. Currently still very busy with work.
My notes are not in the format that I can send out. But we are planning to create pdf notes that can be used for studying, but that takes a lot of time and with my multiple jobs, I just don't have the time at the moment. That will soon change as I plan on retiring from my main job in the near future.
Where does the eqn r1+r2+r3/r1*r2 come from? re-writing this I have that 1/ra = 1/r1 + 1/r2 + r3/r1*r2. I can't see how this last term ( r3/r1*r2) is derived from the diagram
If there is more than one path the current can take it is a parallel circuit (the current splits into two paths). (A series circuit means that the current much pass through every element of the circuit.)
Take a look at this set of videos starting with this one: Electrical Engineering: Basic Laws (29 of 31) Delta to Y Conversion Derived R1=? ua-cam.com/video/pDRE4OSUd2Y/v-deo.html This will explain how that equation is derived.

So do I🥲🥲
You sir are a freaking legend. Now I feel like I am wasting my time going to an hour lecture when you summed it up in a matter of minutes.
Glad you found our videos. 🙂
Are u really a jack of all trades? i see your videos almost for all subjects. Salute!
I have taught a variety of subjects over the years.
bravo!
To think in 2015 I was stressing out about Algebra 2.
Couldn't understand this for the entire semester and now I got it in less than 2 minutes 😭😭😭 Huge thanks Mr. Michael

I never understood this, and you make me understand the conversion in the first 3 minutes of the video. Thanks!!!
You haven't really understood why the circuits are equivalent but only how to get the equivalent star from a delta.
God bless u 5 min are way more effective than 2 hours lecture
You wrote R4 and R4 two times here 3:41
But I love you no matter what ❤️

Do you have any examples using Y- to-Delta?
yes there are a number of examples
I got a suggestion kindly zoom in ur camera a little bit I can't see anything on ur working body..., I really understand what you teach...
-The formula’s are just stated, not proven.
-The example at the end has no terminals, which is confusing.
The proofs are availble in another playlist especially made for that.
