I'm from central europe and never traveled to north america. By coincident I clicked Stadium Pow Wow a couple of days ago. I never really came in contact with the culture and history of native americans and the first nations before but because of you I wanted to learn. Right now I'm reading and watching everything I can find about native history and I started to follow what's happening still today at Standing Rock. I can't thank you guys enough for opening my eyes to all this! Please keep it up, you're doing such an important work there!
you do realize there are hundreds of different indigenous tribes all across the world, each with their own rich and storied culture... there's no such thing as ~native american culture~ please stop homogenizing us, thanks
I'm Scandinavian and married to soix and have two girls... and I'm so proud of my family and are so glad that we can teach are girls two different life styles and yet are literally the same..we are all one tribe one people one heart...
Some of us were Native in our last lives, just got stuck in white skin in this incarnation... but my soul never forgets and still yearns for what once was...
I’m an actual Indian lol and the trad parts of this sound just like my people’s music (my parents are from the villages of Tamil Nadu). Combining that with modern beats is absolutely breathtaking. It’s so mystical and emotional for me to listen to. I wish we made music like this (or at least I don’t know if it)
Yes!! Alot of trad music has been getting modernized versions to get alot of indigenous youth motivated. It should be done more because it's so exciting to see. 😄
Goddamn this video is impressive. Love the camera work, and it is as impressive as always to see the expression of Native art and culture still alive today 😎
Its always good to see more aboriginal culture through media coverage. I believe its an important tool to cultivate a sense of self esteem and restore pride in aboriginal youth.
It's actually considered really insulting to call Native/Indigenous/First Nations people in Canada aboriginal.. we don't like it. I'm pretty sure that's only an acceptable term in Australia, where they actually call themselves that.
I just saw you guys on a show and I ran upstairs grabbed my phone and searched you up. Great video! I'm native and I love the message of all your songs ❤️
how good is it when you provide a great positive role model for your kids, grand kids and people from your culture...that is the ultimate gift and comes back twenty fold especially with the large scale negativity that exists in the world today.....thumbs up from the minority that thinks your not great because your better than that - like the sky - endless ( I never even heard of you guys before but found a video and thought why hasn't the world found out about these guys........don't under estimate the power of the internet......thanks
Gretchen KD I don't know a lot of white people like to assume they're native if they have the smallest percentage of native american blood in them. Not assuming you are white though.
Every second of this video is awesome, but my absolute favorite part is the dancers walking through the high grass towards the meet up and hearing the bells on their regalia playing against the sounds of the city around them. AMAZING.
The meaning of this video is the representation of the awakening happening to all of us whether we are currently aware of it or not. This is the hallucination spreading light and spirituality in to the world with their creations. This video is trying to explain that you do not need to be a native American dressed in appropriate customs to become a creator of light. They are spreading their spirituality and love and sacred tradition into the minds and realities of all who experience. This video is to show you, you to have power and creativity. The city (and western society/whole world) has for to long been controlled with low frequencies and restricting fearful mindsets. Due to this current awakening and shift in conciseness, perspective, and frequency the cities are becoming INDIAN CITYS, and its a direct result of the Indian light love and creation people are now empowering themselves with. I love you all, refuse to allow fear and constructs to restrict your ability to create and love!
the part I love love A Tribe Called Red is that I feel they give the Native American people a voice just something that had in a long time much respect
Watching you guys perform, and watching the videos makes me wish I knew about my Native American ancestors more. My great grandma on my dad's side was half native, and told me about watching her mother who was fully native, forced to conform to European ways, and not be able to tell her about her peoples language, customs, or what tribe they were from because the Norwegian man she'd been married off too refused to let her talk about it- so in many ways the history has been lost. It's a very Norwegian thing to do unfortunately, to tell a native wife not to acknowledge her heritage and people because it wasn't 'proper'. The Norwegian people did the same thing to their own native people and it nearly destroyed them. Luckily my mother was interested in cultural anthropology, and was able to take down some of the information before my great grandma died, and tried to expose me to many tribal cultures so I could hopefully learn about my ancestry- even though we aren't sure which tribe my great grandma was from. I was able to find out some about my native Norwegian heritage, the Sámi people.
Awesome! I Love being a fan of TCR....keeps us in the new beats and never forgetting our roots and cellular memories! Keep up the great work, Thank you! Oyate kin lowanpi na wacipi awastelakapi......Chanchega kin Wakhan hecha.....wicoicage yeyin kte! Pilhamayaye
I clicked cuz I wanted to know who would dare name their group after A Tribe Called Quest! 😂 But I am so impressed, hip hop has become a blessing for the indigenous and oppressed worldwide 🙏🏾💜
I have algonquin heritage and know almost nothing of my family heritage..but hearing music like this makes my heart long for something i miss that i do not know about..but i strongly feel it in my heart the calling from "the sound of home".
this is so incredibly gorgeous and powerful . . . I'm white, but we went to pow wows a few times when i was kid and i will never forget how moving they were--so much power, straight out of the earth. the drumming and singing simply blew my mind. this does it all over again. shivers for the whole song. thank you so much.
What’s amazing to me is historically how connected various First Nations people are through all North America. I come from Saskatchewan, Canada and there are a lot of people’s that settled here like Sioux, Cree, Saulteux, Dene, Dakota, And even supposed roots to the Blackfoot and Atsina. So much history to learn about these people’s and much respect to their wonderful cultures and spiritualities.
This is amazing! I've always been in captivated and in such awe of your culture. I'm Tongan (Polynesian) and I was wondering is there a meaning with each headdress?? I noticed there's different ones. What do they mean? There's one that covers the eyes and I've always been drawn to that one the most. What does that one mean? I'd love to know
Seeing them Live is a Relevation. we saw A Tribe Called Red on the HalluciNation tour in Vermont Higher Ground and it was AmazeBalls. They had two of these dancers touring with them, switching back and forth between the regalia and hiphop gear, and it was.. so Powerful. Gratitude to have seen it! #DigitalPowWow #ATribeCalledRed

Just going to put this out there... Would/Could A Tribe Called Red do a collaboration with RDB or Punjabi MC or a similar group? Native American DJs and Punjabi Bhangra together on a track?? Really mess with people's heads (in a good way) by having the different "Indian" DJ cultures come together. Could be a positive musical experience in the right hands...

Protect your local traditions. Wherever you live. Who ever you are. Local traditions must survive.
From a Middle Eastern I want to say to the natives you are so great and beautiful you have our heart here ❤️🌹.
The original people who lived in Toronto actually were the Mississauga. We should be proud of them because they are still here.

Yes, some youth either are unmotivated to learn or feel embarrassed/self-hate about being indigenous. There should be more encouragement!
