Thanks to your excellent reporting, I went with a Beelink variant. So far it's exceeded all of my expectations for power/price ratio. Companies need accountability and as consumers we're the ones who have to enforce that with our buypower.

The pre-installed virus was not the problem. The real problem is that they pre-installed a keylogger.

3:53 The viruses were on the recovery partition and sometimes also on C:, you might wanna check that

Yeah, just wiping may not fix, better to delete all partitions (can be done from windows setup from usb) before reinstall

@@yissnakklives8866 The safest way with this brand is a NO internet connection complete reformate of the SSD drive and a fresh install of widows with your own created windows 11pro media stick direct from Micro$oft. 👍Oh btw I read a couple of articles there are several Chinese /North Korean virus and malware that will survive the Quick Format process, and they are now recommending (with no internet connect) de checking the quick format and using the old school Format and running two to three times 😮😮. For me the better choice is just to buy another brand of mini pc

FYI, if you're worried about "virus," many mini-PCs can be purchased without hard drive.
I bought a GenMachine AMD R9-6900HX mini PC (a model not available else where) directly from China/Taobao, installed my own RAM & HD (both are affordable here in Taiwan), and I'm very satisfied.

Great video, thanks. As per the other comment, would be great to use the restore to see if this pc remains clean.

I think the malware is only activated when you use google chrome. I don't like chrome so it never activated. I did repair the system once I found out about it though.

LOL shouldn't be a surprise, pretty much all of them do, even the US pre-builts from stores like Best buy have all that norton and dell bloatware (aka spyware). *ALWAYS* format and install your own OS...

I like RGBs, though only on miniPCs. Weird I know.
I like how easy it is to access the RAM/Storage, I wish more did this. I just wish all of them allowed the same easy access for the other side to clean the fan or even re apply the paste.
It is pretty clear there is a chance they knew about the malware and did it on purpose. Which is extra annoying considering they make pretty good systems, all things considered.
    Good video.
BTW, I love how tricky they are with changing the name of the brand. I mean, who would think a PC with the same case and with just half the name the same, would be the same company? Right? Right?
I have no money to actually buy a new PC or build one, I am now using a i7-4710HQ laptop, but would I buy an Ace one if I could afford it? For the right price, maybe.

forget about hard drive viruses and keylogger, Chinese are known to install backdoors in the ic on the motherboard just like they did a decade ago on the motherboard of routers and switches with an ic having backdoor.

I see the LED screen on the top was removed. That was a cool feature but I wouldn't want the malware.. Thanks for the review❤

The model with the screen is the ACEMAGIC S1. This is the AMR05. The S1 seems to follow the similar trend of relying on a gimmick to sell the system. The screen is more of a novelty than anything else and for 200 dollars, you get so close to systems with Ryzen 5 chips, that I dont see a reason to get a system with a N97 at that price. Add onto to the fact that it is one of the first models to be reported to have the malware, it becomes an extremely tough sell all around.

I ordered a AMR5 from Amazon on 2 March and received on 7 March. First boot and it loaded direct into Windows without prompting for a internet connection setup or Microsoft account sign in. Chrome was already installed...but I couldn't find a Recovery directory on C drive anywhere. Looking for Malware. Couldn't find any. Just went on ahead and did a complete reinstall of Windows

Nice one, Evo! How was Win11 installed? Was it pre-registered to some east bloc school or ither weirdness? (If they ship with a local profile)

    • @EVOTech1

it was installed the same as any other mini PC I have had. Nothing odd at all. No immediate windows defender trigger or anything at first boot, like initial reports were saying. Looking through the files, there did not seem to be anything out of the ordinary. going by the viruses GamersNexus pointed out in their news video on it, the ones named did not seem to be present. Seems like this specific model does not seem to have any issues. I didn't try a restore from the recovery tho. I wiped the system afterwards with a USB installer to see if it was a legit activated version of windows and to see if there were any file inconsistencies. So far, I have not found any oddities. Overall, not an extremely compelling option even if the viruses are not a problem anymore. There are better systems to be had for cheaper or similar prices. It really seems to be relying too much on gimmicks to try to sell it, which seems to be the Ace Magic way of doing things.

Ok but did you run a anti virus and malware/adware programs if so which programs ? Without that info it impossible to believe your claim with reviewers in the last 2 months have posted reviews with first widows boot up virus scans with no internet connect and finding multiple virus/adware that can only be successful remove with a reformate of the SSD drive and clean windows install.
