- Spring is on its way so here is a cute little market bag pattern you can whip up super quick with Lion Brand Yarn Re-Up Cotton yarn

Supplies:Lion Brand Yarn Re-Up Cotton Yarn: 2 balls (3.2 oz total for this size)Hook Size: US-I 5.5mmStitch MarkersScissorsDarning Needle
Measurements:11″L x 8″W
Bottom of bag:Row 1: mc, ch 2, 10hdc into mc (10)Row 2: ch 2, 2hdc in each st around (20)Row 3: ch 2, 2hdc in same st, 1 hdc in next st, 2 hdc in next st until the end of the row (30)Row 4: ch 2, 2hdc in same st hdc in next 2 st, 2hdc in next st (40)Row 5: ch 2, 2hdc in same st hdc in next 3 st, 2 hdc in next st (50)Row 6: ch 2, 2hdc in same st, hdc in next 2 st, 2hdc in next st (repeat 14 times) hdc in last 10 st (64)
Shell & V-stitch pattern:Row 7: ch 3, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next st, sk 3 st, 5 dc into next st, sk 3 st repeat until the end of the row, after the last fan stitch, sk 1 st, dc into last st, ss (64)Row 8-19: ch 3, 5 dc in first ch sp, sk 3 st, (dc, ch 1, dc) into the top of the previous fan stitch repeat until the end of the row, after the last v-stitch sk 2 st, dc into last st, ss (64)
Continue alternating rows 7 & 8 (be sure to dc into the last st of each row) for a total of 13 rows
Border:Row 20: ch 2, hdc in same st, hdc in each st and ch sp around (64)Row 21-22: ch 2, sc in same st, sc around (64)
Straps (note: there is no slip stitch for this portion, you will continue to sc around until the last row)
Row 23: ch 1, sc in same st, sc into next 7 st, ch 45, sk 20 st, sc into the next st, sc into the next 7 st, ch 45, sk 20 st, sc into previous starting chRow 24: ch 1, sc in same st, sc into next st, sc 45 times on top of the previous chain (you will probably need to un-cinch this portion when you’re finished) sc into the next st, sc into next 7, sc 45 times on top of the previous chain, sc into previous starting chRow 25: ch 1, sc in same st, sc into each st including the sc on the straps, continue until the end of the row, ss to close
Weave in the ends and you’re finished!

I love this little bag, but I’m going to try to make mine bigger.
I think that would be great!! If you do a few extra increasing rows in the beginning it would be a nice medium size 😍 I’d love to see what you do! ♥️ 🧶
I made mine slightly larger.. was easy to add addl rows from beginning & continue. I did make sure that the V & Shell rows were even count all the way up. Then line up the handles.
